Yeah, so far I'm finding it quieter than the old Shurflo and of course that larger USA Adventure Gear pump. Weird thing is I used the larger 5300 Adventure Gear the other day to transfer water from a 30 gallon bladder in my truck bed through my 3 stage water filters and into my gravity fill fresh tank and it sounded not that loud. Must be something to do with the plumbing setup in the RV. Cheers, Ray
The pump came with OEM rubber mounting grommets to reduce vibration and I also mounted it on a 1/2 sponge rubber mat just like my previous ShurFlo pump. I actually tried running it without screwing it down holding it in the air too, no difference. The loudness wasn't coming from the mounting. The replacement model 3200 pump is mounted exactly the same way and it's pretty quiet, especially compared to the 5300. Also quieter than the old Shurflo. It's something weird with the pressure and the pump's mechanism, the way it interacts with the trailer's plumbing. I've since tried the 5300 as a transfer pump (what it is billed as) for my 30-gallon water bladder through a 3 stage filter and into the rig's gravity feed and it's actually quite quiet when doing that job.
I had been looking for a quieter pump. Saw your first video, well, that was not it. Todays video, thats the ticket. Just finished ordering the smaller one. Thanks, always enjoy your videos.
Maybe the first pump is for a Yacht💧. Yes pumps are not my best friend and this past summer proved it again, I had an air leak coming from the supply side,( didn't prep for the trip). I've gone down that rabbit hole about a better pump and after researching come to believe the KIS method if its not broke, don't touch. being full timers I can see your thoughts are more about preventative maintenance. Happy Trails !
Nice, GOOD JOB. I have the same issue. Hehehe bigger is better. This is a REALLY A GOOD JOB. Saying that you didn’t get it done the way you wanted, and documenting what you did and saying I did it wrong. Now I fixed it. YOU THE MAN RAY.
I love how that worked out for the best. I feel like I’ve had similar circumstances in the past and it worked out. Life can be funny sometimes. Thanks for the video.
the best upgrades I did to my cougar was to put in a holding tank. I used a two gallon pressure tank like you would see installed on a hot water heater for overpressure. You can also use a tank that is installed on a home well system but for whatever reason they are twice the cost for the same thing. It was a very simple install I just cut into the cold shower feed line in the basement. the water can run for a couple of minutes or at least a couple of flushes without turning on. It is now the first thing I do on any RV.
After your first video, I checked out the information on your pump and noticed the pump you installed was a transfer pump. Nice job and good video. Thanks¡
Thanks. I think I will upgrade my pump too and see if I can eliminate my accumulator tank in the process. I hope in runs quieter than my current ShurFlo 2088 pump.
Glad it worked out so well for you Ray. Hope you and your wife are doing well. Very nice to see your back on the road. Thanks again for the video, and calm voice. Lol Much love 🙏
I'm looking for a new pump and was looking at the USA adventure Gear pump and discovered they are not making or selling them anymore, so I was wondering if you could recommend a low cycle quality pump. Thanks
I think a good choice would be the Shurflo 4008 amzn.to/3XRcbDG with the accumulator amzn.to/4guJUK3 Here is my current hookup ruclips.net/video/QhGEugiSDO0/видео.html
I have an Acuva LED-UV purifier under our bathroom sink. It's just for drinking water. Then I have 3 filters mounted on the bumper for when I fill my fresh tank. www.loveyourrv.com/installing-led-uv-rv-water-purification-system-acuva-arrowmax-2-0/
Nicely done! Two pumps for one! On behalf of all your viewers, a big thank you for all your live demonstrations especially while boondocking. What a great guy!
My battery bank actually has 2/0 gauge wires, so 6 GA seems thin. :) 12V DC needs thicker wire compared to 120 AC. everything works so much better with decent sized wire but the RV industry puts in the bare minimum to save costs.
Love our accumulator even after five or six years. Only wish I would have realized that it could have lived anywhere in the first water circuit (instead of in the water closet at the foot of our bed). Thanks!
Yes, the pump has worked very well. I've used it full time since it was installed. I also added a small accumulator tank which improved the flow very much when using just a small stream of water from a faucet. See this video ruclips.net/video/t6wPm62XLPE/видео.html Cheers, Ray
If you plan to do a follow up vid on this, and accidentally run the pump dry between now and then, please include any changes in performance. I've been casually browsing for a pump that covers my 'whoops I'm out of water' moments.
Will do but I have pretty good confidence it would be OK, these types of pumps don't seem to have much problems running dry. I actually used an old pump of similar design but cheaper brand for testing a jump starter battery capacity and it ran over 6 hours with no ill effect Here is the video clip ruclips.net/video/bgOjEtO-YJs/видео.html
I replaced my oem Flojet with a Seaflo. Noticeably quieter. So much quieter in fact that Keystone Montanas changed all their 2022 models to the Seaflo.
Great deal on the new new pump install! Water accumulators are kinda silly in an rv. A solution for a problem that doesn't exist. I could care less about pump cycling. Also, at night we just shut the pump off and simply dump urine without the need for an endless water flow to do so. That also makes it SILENT at night. That certainly leaves ONE less project to empty every season for winterization....why add more work?
Excellent! Took some investigative thinking, and a bit of trial-and-error to come to a successful outcome. That new (newest) pump seems to be working well, and sure seems quiet in the video soundtrack. Serendipitous that you'll be able to make good use of the extra wiring you ran...and that larger Adventure Gear pump you still have.
Well I really like your DYI video's for my own DYI, but questioned this pump replacement. The noise was too much for me and not sure what you gained ? Your (and mine) have lasted a fair amount of time, so why replace with this unit? Maybe use the same unit (or like). I didn't see much gain or any gpm and used more amps. As a booddocker myself; I watch my amps / wattages. Lippert makes a couple of good & quiet ones as well. All that said, its easy to look in the rearview mirror; as I would have more than likely done the same thing. Bigger is better right ? Keep the DYI vid's coming...
My thought was a larger pump chamber and bigger motor may have meant a more even, quieter flow. Plus better quality USA-made parts may be smoother operation. Plus I can be the guinea pig for new products. :)
@@LoveYourRV Im really glad you did; as it prevented me being the test subject. I was going to replace mine and use the old one for a bladder transfer & backup. At least I now know one I won't get... I totally understand your logic though.
It is a transfer pump? No wonder it stuttered when it ran. The pump was just too big and tried to put out too many GPM for your small faucet flow. Bigger is not always better. However, it should easily refill your tanks from the water bladder much faster than the little Shurflo pump.
Ray, I’m curious what spares you recommend are “must carries” versus non essential items. Might be a fun video. I tend to carry minimal; spare rivets, small tool set, tire repair, fuses. I imagine that I would have much more if I was full time or had a frequent failure of some particular component. Wheel bearings might be a good spare to carry.
Yeah, that would be a good idea. Been a long time since I did a video about that 2013 www.loveyourrv.com/tools-and-maintenance-items-for-the-full-time-rv-life/ Lots has changed over that time. I tend to carry less heavy stuff if I can.
I normally would of but figured I would help out a small USA business during these rough times, so I'll make the best of it and keep the 5300 pump and use it for a transfer pump.

Looks good first thing I noticed on the first video was how loud it was!
that second pump is a winner!
Thx Ray
Great info 👍😎🦅🇺🇸
Smaller pump sounds way better, gonna put it on my list

Happy New Year Ray! Thanks for sharing. Like #279, View 1180
Happy New Year!
problem solved...great
That sounds much better 👍
Saw Steve mentioned the rubber pad.
That is the best way to quiet them down. Surprised you didn't mention it.
Great video, as always.

Good to hear you got it sorted out Ray! 👍
Nice smooth sound. Thank You for this Update I will modify my Pump notes.
Why is a relay is needed when higher Amperage 😊?
Because the RVs water pump switch is only rated for 8 amps max and the OEM wire is quite thin, made for the same 8 amps max.
Glad you got that straightened out. I didn't say anything but I was thinking boy I sure wouldn't have that.
Hope it works out.
Glad it all worked out in the end .

Made in America is what I buy anytime I can

Excellent ! Glad for your discovery. How about doing a cooking show while I try to catch up on all the upgrades you have introduced me too? Godspeed.
After your first video, I checked out the information on your pump and noticed the pump you installed was a transfer pump. Nice job and good video. Thanks¡
Awesome good you got it working ☺️🛠️🇨🇦
Thanks. I think I will upgrade my pump too and see if I can eliminate my accumulator tank in the process. I hope in runs quieter than my current ShurFlo 2088 pump.
Thanks for update Ray! Looks like a great pump as a transfer pump. Better to be proactive and replace components before they fail. Safe travels!
You can charge all your small electronics off the top of your pump house after you install the power outlet. thanks for the update.
Glad it worked out so well for you Ray.
Hope you and your wife are doing well. Very nice to see your back on the road.

You had a blue light water filter there once; did you put that under your sink?
I have an Acuva LED-UV purifier under our bathroom sink. It's just for drinking water. Then I have 3 filters mounted on the bumper for when I fill my fresh tank. www.loveyourrv.com/installing-led-uv-rv-water-purification-system-acuva-arrowmax-2-0/

You are very welcome
Thanks for the update. That sounded like a much better choice. :) Plus you can power the whole camper with your 6ga wire if you need to now :)

Are you still happy with this pump? It’s the 3200 right? I just ordered it. Thanks so much for the video! 😊

Size does matter 🙊
So what model did you end up sticking with for the RV and how was the flow in the shower.
ProGear 3200 amzn.to/3JTTw0M All faucet/toilet/shower flows are great and pump is way quieter
Thank you just ordered one. 👍👊😎
that sounds so much better wondering would some rigid foam insulation inside that box will make it more quiet
I line the box with some packing foam and the outside vinyl covering has foam backing. Does a pretty good job.
Good to know it all worked out man. You must’ve had an “epiphany “. Lol. Great stuff, Ray.
Just a note… the direct RV replacement pump is ‘assembled’ in the US… the other pumps clearly state pumps are US made…
Thanks, I didn't pick up on that. Still glad to support a small USA business.

How is old blue doing? Did the person who bought it ever tell you what has been going on with it?
Have never heard back from the guy.
I replaced my oem Flojet with a Seaflo. Noticeably quieter. So much quieter in fact that Keystone Montanas changed all their 2022 models to the Seaflo.

At first I was going to disagree with you, but you know, I think I will do the same at night - just shut off the pump. Thanks!
Just found out this company is no longer making 12v water pumps they are focusing on other things like solar and water purification.
Thanks for the update, I hadn't heard.

Don't sound to good i would have returned it for that price
