Been playing the guitar for one year now and Freak Kitchens Raw was one of the first songs I learned. Thanks to you for finally showing me how to make this sound!
Ive been playing on and off for 16 years and never have I figured out that that sound was called a pinch harmonic until today when I saw a comment on a RUclips video describing what those “squealies” were
So the squel is just what pinch harmonics are on an acoustic? I've been playing firngerstyle acoustic for a long time and I am about to get an electric and im wondering if I can make this sound by just plucking pinch harmonics like i normally do with my fingers? I can't play with a pick...
Move along the string too, there's always a sweet spot in where you pick/pinch to get the low strings to sound. Obv good watch some Zakk videos he's the master of this technique and uses 3rd fret low E 😂
Step 4. Make sure you have the right amount of gain/distortion.
To make them really squeal like that absolutely. But it's pretty easy to get audible pinch harmonics on an acoustic even!
Well this was the prerequisite for step 1. If you can do natural harmonics a pinch harmonic should be the same volume because they’re the same thing
Nah you should technically be able to do it without it
I dinged my thumb cutting my nail, and pinched harmonics are temporarily out of action for me at the mop! 🤣
You can do them with your palm too like you are muting but just barely touch the string with your palm and pick the string.

I have figured it out by myself 35 years ago and was not sure whether correct or not. Now I know I am correct. Thank you!
THANK YOU BRO FINALLY SOMEONE WHO EXPLAINED IT IN SIMPLE TERM🙏🙏🙏
That’s the best lesson of it so far thanks
never seen it explained like this, makes it make sense for me thanks :)
Helped me so much, thankyou
Happy it helped!! 🎸🤘
@@ACMusicyou showed us how Billy Gibbons makes his guitar talk! The positions up and down the strings. Mahalos!
Lovely that ma dude

Terrific video. Was able to get it down right away!
Amazing lesson. Thank you!!
Those first few pinch harmonics were 🔥
Love it bro! Great info there!
Also bend the harmonic after pinching, sounds wicked.
finally got them, so much fun
If only this video was out when I tried learning pinch harmonics
Simple Quick and Understanding. Thank you
I’ve been doing this. Can’t seem to get to it right. Was hoping for a magic tutorial saying to try something different. I just suck lol
make sure your volume knob is up as well! sounds alot clearer :)
Thank you. Maybe I have still hope
Step 0.5 add ample gain.
I’m stuck on step two because when I do what I do in step 2 in step 3 the sound just stops
Dude. Thank you!!!
Sooooo. What if I've tried everything and it takes way to much to get those harmonics?
It can be really tricky! How's it coming along??
Underrated video
Huge help dude!

How about on lower strings in drop tuning? Like psychosocial by slipknot
thx broo it worksss
This is good 👍🏻
I can get them easy on g and b strings, but can't get them on the thick E or A strings
Yeah it's generally more difficult on the thick strings don't worry, just keep practicing and you'll get there!
Omg me too but why???

what was that riff you werer playing at the beggining
Thank you!
Nice
Hope this works for me as I am horrible at them as is.thanks
Thx
Does this only work with a distortion pedal? Or can this be done on a clean signal?
It works on a clear signal distortion just boosts the audio pretty much.
what pedal do you use?
❤❤❤
I accidentally did it recently and it was fucking awesome but never did it again
Plectrum?
Thanks men
What pickups are you rocking in this video Anthony?
I see that he may be using Seymour Duncan pickups.
🤟
I will never understand this concept 😅 just like whistling 😂 I can’t do it
Are you on tiktok?
No. I don't think I'll be on it any time soon.
I've always called them 'overtones' 🤔
I’m getting a severe lack of squeal
Me as well :( did you figure out what it is?
@@SovereigntyFilmsgain and practice
Your thumb is just tapping the string after you play
Still struggling
Bro looks like Matt Bellamy
I always do this accidentally
Comfortably numb anyone?
I cant fuckin do it since my fuckin pick is shredded and i lost my whole pick box or pick collection at school
Sorry, but practicing natural harmonics is not going to make you learn pinch harmonics.
Bru really has that pink guitar🤮
