this scene alone took me three days (i start drawing at 2 in the afternoon and rest at 1 in the morning)

audio is from the broadway rendition of six the musical starring samantha pauly as katherine howard.
I love how differently Sam plays the roast than Aimee does.
agreed!
I love how Sam roasted the queens but I liked Aimee as K.Howard

I think we can all agree she's the 10 amongst these threes.
She's also the queen who went through the most
she won there's no question
Maybe she did have it worse than the others, but one of the messages of this musical is how women shouldn't be pitted against each other like this, and if you poke around for other bootleg clips of the ending song and scenes they essentially say "This competition is stupid, and we can't keep doing things like this." It doesn't matter who "wins" because there's no.... winning with trauma. Each of these women suffered, and maybe some got it worse but that doesn't invalidate the others' pain. Women are too often put at odds with each other--whether the feud was real or imagined by the society that views them--and it's a trope we can't accept anymore. The idea that women have to 'compete' with each other for dominance--whether it be in love or, like at the start of this musical, trauma--perpetuates a nasty stereotype that was created by men that women are naturally '"catty" or prone to jealousy or being underhanded, when the issue is often much more complex than "women are predisposed," which isn't true.

@@letr214 I don’t think it’s just women, but everyone in general. There are too many people out there who brag about how their lives are harder than others, and others should just be grateful. Invalidating anyone’s pain or trauma and turning it into some sort of competition isn’t okay, but it happens anyway.
@@mg8553 this is absolutely true, but it is significant that it's women. so often women are thrown against each other in competition when it's not needed, or even when the women themselves don't see themselves that way. The best example I can give right now is the "blonde vs brunette" trope, where the blonde is favored and seen as prettier, but the brunette is seen as smarter over the "dumb" blonde, making the two women act as foils. Legally Blonde is a fantastic example both of this trope and why it's stupid (the two end up close friends at the end, realizing their feud is counterproductive and harmful). More examples can come from "Jackie vs. Marilyn" Hollywood portrayals where the blonde and brunette are seen as at odds in some way, usually over men. I'm not saying that Western society isn't toxically competitive, it is, and America is especially harmfully individualistic, but women in particular are usually pitted against one another for the benefit of male viewers and/or the men in the movie/show/etc.
@@CV-Moore I'm not, actually. I understand this is a joke, but it does come across as a bit dismissive, and tone is often easily misinterpreted over text vs in person. I have a background in history and psychology. I'm someone who has seen how different forms of trauma, no matter how "minor," can leave long-term damage, even if it seems like it's nothing at all or that others have it "worse." More than that, though, I'm a woman who has too often seen other women put at odds with each other for no reason in film and other forms of media, and is tired of women being reduced down to competition and who can hurt the most or get the love interest's attention. This musical is made the highlight that very point--that Henry VIII's wives, even at the "least" traumatized, still went through pain, and trauma should never be made into a competition of "who became the most scarred," and, more generally, the musical seeks to emphasize how stupid it is that we force women to battle with each other for our entertainment, instead of lifting each other up.
This is the first animatic I've seen that used a cast that was not the OG West End cast.
This is the first time I’ve seen an animatic use the American version of the show. Neat.
I love how Anna didn't get mad.
She knows K Howard deserves the win.
That one guy who laughs after “getting rejected for your looks sounds really rough” cracks me up EVERY time!
lol the faces after Howard said their lifes and songs sounded terrible. Boleyn and Aragon are angry, Jane just shocked hand to her chest like "me?" and Cleves is just lowkey proud XD
Cleves is actually just lowkey really proud and amused the whole time, even when Howard got to roasting her.
Anna is like she got itttt
Is it me or does anyone else feel bad about the queens making fun of K.Howard beforehand when she went through all that trauma starting from CHILDHOOD?
I still can't decide if i like this version or not. I mean i do like it, its really fun and the sass Sam brings is different yet still amazing, but also I'm so used to the other one that it feels off and that feeling is the frustrating part. Really good animatic though :)
I'm in LOVE with sam
YOU!!! YOU KEEP POPPING UP!!! I KNOW YOU!!!
@@bi_beans9011 congrats u are number 1 fan
Same
I'd really like to see more animatics involving the North American cast. This one was great!
The faces are on point oml-
Anna was like, "you know what you deserve that win" 🤣🤣🤣
Anne boylen and K howard were cousins
I belive Jane was also their cousin and Anne's lady in waiting but I'm not 100% sure on that
I guess being beheaded just runs in the family!
Anne’s brother was also beheaded
@@kenziejeager4454 why? What did he do?
@@luna1327 it had something to do with Anne and her committing Adultery
Huh,the first time I don't hesr the OG cast. But the roast is also... Somehow funnier? Lol?
i love how ya showed the original cast!
they need more love tbh
@@peacheskimi yessss the broadway cast needs more love
The original Broadway cast.
omg finally, ive been looking for the roast with Samantha paulyyyy thank youuuuuuuuuuu
Oohh different actresses to these queens
This is the Broadway cast. Sam Pauly playes K Howard
*I don't get the "and surviving" part---*
All the other queens had to either die while married to him, or got divorced and had to deal with humiliation. Parr didn't have to, though, sense Henry died before she could piss him off too much.
Since the whole show was just them comparing who had it worse, obviously divorced beheaded or died sound WAY more extreme then just survived, and because of that Howard just skipped her lol
@@ckies4777 - actually, Henry wanted to behead Parr, too.
She was clever enough to talk him out of it.
I love how Jane is done with this 😂😂😂
Such wow! Such Fascinate. Much Amaze! Much Awesomeness! Such Energetic!
This is really good! Even I cant do dis... TwT. Oh well.
You're a star, Kimi! Keep Shining! ☆☆☆☆☆☆
much thanks ! 💗
At 1:38 it sounds like the guy in the background is saying, “aw fuck”
When I saw this, I instantly subscribe *👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻*
Broadway is my fav version of the k Howard roast
Oh this is the broadway roast.
The guy in the background when she got to Cleves 🤣🤣🤣🤣”oh fuck you.”
I love the animation. Nothing against sam, but I prefer Aimie. I like how she says "WHEN WILL JUSTICE BE SERVED," in a deeper voice, with a rasp. Sam's performance was good. It's just not the kind of style I like. But that's why we all have different taste and no one is correct. I respect your opinions and your art.
Yea its fine, everybody have they’re own opinion lol
No one:
Sam Pauly as Katherine Howard: dying of NATURAL CAUSES
I love how Anna was like: I see what you did there after K Howard roasted her
It's so weird not hearing British accents.
Ik
Wait American
Poor Samantha

It sounds weirdly forced in this American version. Not fond
we all have different taste, i understand!
@@peacheskimi I'm glad :) I might not like the voices, but the animatic is still class
