Hey guys in this video I'm going to demonstrate how you can make nitric acid using glass bottles as your distillation appratus in hindi language.
The chemical which are used in this video are potassium nitrate and sulphuric acid.The sulphuric acid used in this video is extracted from inverter battery.
These two chemicals are mixed in such a amount that they form a paste the paste is then transferred to a glass bottle and a another bottle is connected to the mouth of the bottle containing the mixture.
Potassium nitrate and sulphuric acid react to form nitric acid vapour and potassium bi sulphate/ Hydrogensulphate or potassium sulphate..
This reaction is usually performed using a glass retort but this is the most simplest way to get your ha ds on nitric acid.
However this is very time consuming and requires about 1 to 3 hours for complete distillation.
This method can also be used to purify sea water to drinkable water.

The general reaction of metal + acid is salt and hydrogen gas but why when metal react with nitric acid why it produce nitrogen dioxide not hydrogen and why additional nitrogen dioxide is dissolved in nitric acid why? And awesome video
It all happens due to strong oxidising nature of HNO3 it oxidizes if any hydrogen produced to H2O . Exception - Mn,Mg.
Nitric oxide produced get oxidised to NO2 which get into nitric acid giving it usual brown yellow colour.
At 5M concentration Equal amount of Nitric and NO2 oxide get evolved....
