There is something about watching a good 'ole demolition derby that makes every problem you got go away for a while. I have raced in a couple enduros back in the day that looked like a demolition derby.....
My wife and I went to an enduro this afternoon which was followed by a demolition derby and I honestly thought that the enduro WAS the demolition derby. Great fun!

I always thought (And this is probably still the case sometimes) that derby cars where put together a few weeks before the event and weld in some strengthening and away you go... but some of these cars sound like they have some serious HP which makes me think that some of these cars are not one time use haha or maybe just use the engine again
Your thought is still true for some events. But likely most motorsports there are classes in which people pay a lot of money to have the best parts. I have seen 50K worth of performance parts used before, but that is the top end
If your ever inclined to try this . Get a Volvo wagon or a old Cadillac.

Yep, hard hits. One time back in the 80's a friend of mine (from AZ) entered a '73 a 4 door Chrysler Newport and got disqualified before the event even happened. He told me the rules said those type cars are forbidden to use. Why?
All the Derbys I've ran it's only Chrysler 1970 and older are banned. And I've ran AZ for 19 years now. And it's really because they don't bend.
No they do not bend at all I've hit one and it didn't budge
