Thanks for the video! I stayed at Riu Emerald Bay in 2014 before the expansion. Excited to check out the water slides, new restaurants, bars, and pools. Heading back there this December.
Heading there end of March with my family! Been to several Riu Hotels (Cabo, Jamaica, Playa Del Carmen) and always enjoyed it. Hopefully we will enjoy our stay at this Riu!
Omg I absolutely love this resort I am going there again my 3 rd time to Mazadland Riu emerald this April thxs for sharing I agree with you it’s a great resort thxs
Thanks for sharing all this info! My husband and I are going here for our Honeymoon next month! (Mid-March) I wanted to ask about the open air bus. I tried looking to see if it was something I could book on their website, but information is a little limited there. Is this something you have to physically book once you’re there? We were thinking we’d take that night trip into town our first day so we could scope out where we wanted to go when we do decide to go into town later in the week! Do you remember what time that night tour ran? Thanks! 👏🏻
Excursions aside, Is it easy to get a ride back to the RIU after visiting the Malecon, etc. Or are drivers reluctant to take the business as it's rather far away?
It shouldn't be a challenge getting a ride - there are open-air/covered taxis, regular taxis, and I think Ubers run there too. It's a bit further away, but I don't think far enough that drivers would turn down the fare.
Hey there. First time visiting Cancun in Feb 2023. How is this side for catching a tan, roaming around to people watch, grabbing food etc? I stayed solo at the Peninsula.
I stayed in the tower, so I’m not able to tell you about the new section. The views from the higher floors of the tower are great and I’d suggest those. One minor drawback is that it can sometimes take a while to wait for the elevators.
Do you have to save a seat every morning or does the staff remove items on the seats.. so its a first come and you stay you get it if you leave something in the morning its removed ? I hate showing up after breakfast and not siting down and watch a family storll in around 11 when i could of had it all morning
Could you give some examples of the vegetarian options they did have? My family and I are all vegetarians and have booked out trip down there this winter. I'm feeling a little concerned now...
They always got good deal. I think this resort is great value. I only paid $850 @ sunwing in December for 7 days. I stayed at the new wing and it was great. Stay away using the elevator
The whole of the Malecón is worth seeing and you can do it if you have the time, but the southern stretch near the Monumento al Pescador seems to have the most activity. And yes - I’d consider it safe.
@@brittaneyallemano7665 they have a small section of gf bread and muffins. Nothing is labeled and language was a huge barrier. My son ended up getting glutened by the deep fryer (waiter insisted he understood gf). My advice, bring some bread and snacks. The resort is wonderful otherwise and we had a great time
At the 49 second point, you forgot to mention the bands that play on the beach from around 4pm until late. Not sponsered by RIU, the locals come and play. Very annoying !

Thanks for the review, as I was looking at going there last month, but the timing didn’t work out!
Thanks for this amazing review and video. We are looking forward to staying here!
Thanks for the kind comment - and hope you have a great time!

Yes - I’d suggest asking in person once you’re there! 🙂
Which tour is this bus from that's shown in the video? It looks hella fun!
It was a city tour, but I’d suggest checking with the front desk in case things have changed!
Nice little review
I will try it
Thanks for the info! Planning on going again in August
Thanks so much, and have a great time!
Hi, how much was that great looking bus trip. Great review BTW
Thanks so much! I don’t recall exactly, but It may have been roughly $80/100 Cdn.
Hello, we were curious to the selection of beer at the pubs there?
I gather it will be pretty crowded for the Eclipse?

Looks amazing! did you have to pay for the tours to the island and the city? or were they already included in the final cost?
Yes - those were extra!

I think you'd have a great time
Have been several times. We want to head back December 2 to 7 with sis and friends
Have a great time!
@@HenrySetGo we sure will. Massages at Lulu's and Roy's has great food.
@@HenrySetGo .. how was food selection for kids? Did they have chicken nuggets fries ??? .. etc….
Yes!
does the new section have ocean view? what floor and room would you recommend? Is the ground floor noisy?
I stayed in the tower, so I’m not able to tell you about the new section. The views from the higher floors of the tower are great and I’d suggest those. One minor drawback is that it can sometimes take a while to wait for the elevators.

Great reveiw
Do they have drink service on the beach and around the pool or do you have to go get your own drinks ?
Yes, they do!
Could you give some examples of the vegetarian options they did have? My family and I are all vegetarians and have booked out trip down there this winter. I'm feeling a little concerned now...
I don’t recall of the top of head, but it was overall a bit meat-heavy.
@@HenrySetGo Okay, thanks for trying to remember. Most places are usually meat heavy. I find we live off bread, fruit and veggies on vacation. lol
Hey, I saw a lot of reviews on how people got sick from the food. How was your experience?
I don’t recall our group having any issues with that at all.
Great video I'm mexican and never been there lol
Thanks very much!
Do you know if they have disabled rooms? Thank you
any extra charge for mini bar in the room ? and hows the wifi speed in room ?
The Wi-Fi was fine, I had no issues with it. And the drinks in the bar were included - no extra charges 👍
The weather was good , not cold ?
This was in March and the weather was beautiful - sunny everyday.
Mazatlán is very warm year round. Very humid too. At their coldest they’re around 68-70 degrees 😊
Is there a ramp to get into the pool
Best to check with the hotel directly!
How much was it for the excursions?
They differed in prices, but I’d say budget around $40-$100 per thing?
They always got good deal. I think this resort is great value. I only paid $850 @ sunwing in December for 7 days. I stayed at the new wing and it was great. Stay away using the elevator
Lol - agreed the elevators could take a while when it’s busy.
If i take the bus to the Malecon where should i get off to just wander around? Do you think it is safe on malecon during day for solo traveller?
The whole of the Malecón is worth seeing and you can do it if you have the time, but the southern stretch near the Monumento al Pescador seems to have the most activity. And yes - I’d consider it safe.
@@HenrySetGo how long walk from start, is that Valentinos? To that monument? :)
Yes! My family is from Mazatlán, and the city is very tourist friendly. Can’t say the same if you wander out of it, however.
I have gone twice since my message, felt safe! Love Mazatlan. ❤
I'm heading there in January. Do you recall seeing any gluten free items on the buffet or menus?
No, sorry
Hello Heather, Did you find any gluten free options? I am going next week!

How come flights are not included
The price I mentioned through Sunwing included the flight, as well as transportation from the airport.
How safe is the area? Did you feel safe on the resort grounds?
I did - the resort is pretty much in its own away from central Mazatlán and I didn’t sense any safety issues being on the resort.
Are all rooms in big building ocean view
Yes, I think so because the side facing away from the ocean was just a hallway.
Do you know if they have an airport shuttle?
I don’t think the hotel arranges shuttles. We booked through Sunwing, though, which did arrange pick-up/drop-off at the airport.
Can you link the tours you took?
There’s no info available online, as far as I can tell. You’ll be able to find the info at reception.
🙋🤗🤗😄😃🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I live in Mazatlan ....The Riu is pretty boring. Its located way north of the excitement of the City
Kaden Plains

Don’t go to mazatlan if you don’t like banda, take yo ass to Cancun then!
