Just got my permanent visa and headed to Mazatlan for my first month in Mexico. Your video made me feel like I'm definitely headed in the right direction. Great video, thank you!!!
Something worth noting is isla de Los venados is a protected area therefore there are no restaurants or bathrooms. I advise taking your own cooler and possibly traveling on a boat with a bathroom
Mariachis are very rare in Mazatlán. They may come and play occasionally in a restaurant or concert. The bands that play on the beach are called bandas. Very different and unique to this state. Like calling a classical orchestra a hard rock band.
Enjoyed your video. Nice to be spoken to rather than shouted at as in many travel videos. We are planning to be there for ten days or so (from London) to see the total eclipse of the Sun on 8 April (2024). We are arriving by bus (from Guadalajara) and staying in the main square in the old city. We are very excited and looking forward to it. By the way, the TL in MAZATLAN is an Aztec sound (from the Nahuatl language). It's pronounced as a single consonant not as two separate letters. The words tomato and chocolate originated from Nahuatl and were originally TOMATL and CHOCO ATL. You hear the same TL sound in many deity names in Mexico.
Love all the maps and drone shots. You have provided so much helpful information for our vacation. One of the best videos on Mazatlan, thanks for all your work on the video.
Excellent video. Just the facts no hype. Now I feel that it's worthwhile visiting. A Big Thank You. Other travel video-dudes should look at this one to see how it should be done. Perfect.
Really nice video. Thanks for putting this together. Good tip about Baikas. I knew about the one in Olas Altas, but not the one in GZ. One niggly point though, the Malecón isn't 13 miles long, it's about 4 miles/ 7km. Your map even shows 6.9km. (Monumento a Pedro Infante to Valentinos) Pulmonias are a fun experience eh!
Going for our 3rd time this month. Staying at Avenida (new condo/Airbnb 15th floor). Prior visit ate at El Presido and Topolo. Both highly recommended. Been to Deer Island but this time might try it kayak vs local drop off. Visited Stone Island on a tourist boat, and donkey ride! Nice walk on beach. Stayed at Grand Park Royal, but would stay at VRBO/Airbnb at Gervias next door. Plus you can go to Grand Park Royal and have meals if you don't want to cook. Will have bikes this time and go to Parque Central. The restaurant at the top of El Faro area is the best in town. Expensive but delicious. Will have to try Gas 46, Waters Edge and Hectors!
Great video, I just came back!!! I spend 3 days here, 4-6 days would have been more better...I HIGHLY recommend staying at Casa Lucia hotel along the ocean in Centro. I went alone but the staff there became my friends, incredible views awesome outdoor patio with my room. Have breakfast on the rooftop swimming pool. Spent a few days surfing with Blue Therapy surf school. The owner Martin is AMAZING
Hi Imani So great to hear your comment and realize our videos have been of help. Thank you for the kind words and keep watching. I think we’ve covered all of Mexico’s top beach sites, but if we have missed something, let us know! Enjoy your trip!
I’m sorry we stayed at the Doubletree Hotel I don’t know anything more about any rentals in Mazatlan, good luck on your hunt. I’m sure you will find something look Airbnb or VRBO
@@scottsdaletravelchick Thank you for replying. The song is wonderful, sounded Cuban, but I may be mistaken. I would be very thankful if you can find the title/artist. Let me also say that you have the best videos! And that sidekick is professional grade. ;)
We appreciate your video, We were there for 9 weeks last year (2022) We are going back for at least 16 weeks this year. We did a lot of what you showed. We didn't know about several things though. We both agreed that we were not going to do much touristy stuff this trip but you made us both liars. LOL
You must really enjoy it there. I live in Santa Fe most of the year and usually go to Puerto Penasco to stick my toes in the water. Do you have recommendations on where to stay/find lodging near the old town for a couple of weeks in the spring? Much appreciated! Larry
@@lawrenceherdade2256 Sorry for the delay, we have been camping for the last week. We lucked out and found a wonderful couple / landlords. I know they have several properties, I will ask them for you. I know you said spring but exactly what are your dates you are looking for?
Thanks Joyce Yes, we need to spend more time in Mexico. When we do these videos, we ask the local travel guides as well as Google translator so we can try and get that pronunciation correct. Sorry about that
Way too much incorrect info, bad pronunciation of places and things important to tourists and patched together videos from different years. It will appeal to people who know no better. Mariachis playing in the beach? Too much tequila, dude!
Hmmmmm videos are not patched together it was one trip to Mazatlan. And yes there were Mariachis on the beach. Sorry you don’t see it like that, maybe you should take a trip to Mazatlan?
OK, but I have lived here full time for years. I know that the Sabalo Centro bus was more than $11 pesos when Parque Centro opened. And, I believe that you should make the effort to pronounce everyday, tourist-related words correctly before you narrate. That’s to YOUR benefit. Come back and do a better video.
Just a little fyi - Jalisco has mariachi. Sinaloa has banda. They're very different. Mazatlán's carnival is the third largest in the world, after Rio de Janeiro and New Orleans. The walk up to the top of El Faro is VERY steep and not for everyone. Please, if anyone does the climb, bring water with you. In the Summer months they frequently close it to visitors because of the health issues of the climb in the heat. The clavadistas (cliff divers) will always be diving when a cruise ship is in port. You can usually count on Wednesdays. If you want a boat tour you can get one from the embarcadero playa sur (where you catch the panga to stone island) or one of the tour companies along the marina near el faro. MUCH lower cost than $60 usd. A lot of good information in your video, and pretty comprehensive for a typical tourist. Thanks!

I heard bandas aren't allowed on the beach anymore :-( Too bad, it added to the atmosphere.

Can you recommend a rental property manager in Mazatlan? Looking to rent a furnished 1 bedroom apartment from january 2024 til march 2024

Saw quite a selection on vrbo. I am looking forward to doing this as well.
Pulmonias are VW Things or VW Safari ... Originally Cushman cargo vehicles.. now many are just modified compacts
It seems like a pretty neat place

I just heard another Vlogger say they paid $22USD for a taxi from the Airport to the Best western for reference on price
Bars on the windows --a heads up..
I love it that you put your woman in the Picture
Why that’s super creepy
The red trucks are like the "Baht bus" in Thailand.
Yes we love traveling through Thailand!!!!
It’s oppressively hot there almost all the time. If you dislike noise at all hours, this is not the town for you.
Not me watching proud what gringos has to say about my town 😂😂❤
Watch the palmonias. Like lawn mower motors. Dangerous
The music is not mexican ....wtf?
Learn some/a lot of Spanish, it's good manners.
Nice presentation which would be better if you would work on your Spanish pronunciation.
Thanks Joyce
