With all the excitement generated by the news of T.C. being purchased and up and running. I certainly hope that we all go out and support them when they are available for purchase.
That’s why nothing will come of it or it will be so delayed that people have moved on. If TC was truly an attractive business proposition, a big company like Ruger would have bought them.
It was a tragedy when we lost TC and the reberth brings much joy all ready just knowing an American iconic firearms company is rising from the ashes. I think TC needs to name a new rifle "The Phoenix " to mark the rebirth of the company.
I have a few TC firearms,my wife worked for them as did my mother-in-law. When we met my mother in law gave me a white mountain carbine. I now own a few more, two Encores, and a couple inline muzzle loaders. I can’t wait to buy several new barrels in different calibers! Thanks for resurrecting a great company!
No doubt this was a massive undertaking. Look how long it took Ruger to get Marlin production back in swing and they produce only a portion of the line Marlin did to this day. I am confident you will get back up and running at a quality level that is better than ever. Best wishes for the new year! 👍💪❤💯🙏
On of the reasons that the Marlin production took so long (according to my engineering buddies at Ruger) is that Remington left them complete garbage to start with. They had to re-tool everything and basically start from scratch because Remington let everything fall apart during the ownership of Marlin. Presumably and hopefully S&W did a better job during their tenure owning TC.
@@znutar It was my understanding the tooling you mention came from Marlin and was already clapped out when Remington moved it all to Ilion. I totally believe your friends and I am praying T/C does not have to endure the same. Thanks for sharing!
I worked in a factory for 40 years. From production to R&D, design, parts inventories, re-ordering, machine change overs and conversions. I feel your pain brother. Its still gonna be a long, difficult road. I hope everyone that is waiting impatiently, understands how much work and time goes into this task. Its very tedious and time consuming. It will all be worth it soon.
Really appreciate the updates. I like that it seams that your committed to quality. There is so much cheap built junk on the market today. Seems that even if it hasn't come from China that most things are made of chinesium. I hope things go well for the startup. I would love to buy a well made T/C.
Hoping that you’ll bring back the traditional barrels with slim profiles and the old iron sights(w/folding rear sights)…..The Midwest wants those in .350Legend, 30-30 and other light deer calibers. Custom shop barrels, case colored frames and figured walnut (slimmer, shorter forearms, with ebony tips look incredible too). Would love to help you make it work.
My Dad and I both wanted the Encore but never got them. We would talk at deer camp about how cool it would be to have a nice aluminum case with 2 or 3 barrels in them and decide that day what we wanted to hunt with. Sadly my dad and lifelong hunting partner died 5 years ago and we never got to live that dream. When I saw the first relaunch video, I told my 84 year old mother and my wife that I was going to get an encore and get several barrels and finally realize the dream my dad and I had all those many years. I was hoping for them to come out this fall, but I will wait until you guys start sending out the new Encores and I will be in line trying to get the first one at my local gun shop. Thanks for all the effort it took to bring TC back to its roots and bringing back such a great company.
Fascinating behind the scenes look into the operation. Its going to be a daunting task to sort through all that existing inventory, especially all the unfinished parts. If I lived up there id be applying for a job. Im a gunsmith and have experience in manufacturing (where I saw firsthand how not to do this stuff) and find the whole thing intriguing.
Been watching your channel as you've been coming out with new videos. Really nice seeing the progression of how you're coming along with rebuilding the brand.
Absolutely excited beyond belief that you are putting so much into bringing Thompson Center back to the market! I can not wait for your products to hit the market as I will be in the long line of folks looking to purchase the new TC's!
I cannot say how excited I am that TC is coming back! My pro hunter has been a workhorse for 20 years!! Looking forward to the future for you, best of luck to you and your team!!
Thanks for taking us along on this journey. The buzz you are creating around this iconic brand is incredible. Looking forward to the rest of the story and adding some of these new firearms to the collection.
My mom bought my dad a Contender many years ago. For his birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, etc., she would buy him a new barrel. Good times. Welcome back. :)
The joy of knowing that the TC firearms are going to be continued is fantastic! The Contenders and black powder rifles that I have are wonderful and I hope to get one of the new guns soon . Keep up the good work!
Thanks for these updates, they really mean a lot to a lot of people I'm sure. Personally I can't wait to purchase a new product to add to my line of Thompson firearms. Keep up the great work gang, I'm very excited.
So glad to see T/C making a comeback. I've never personally owned one, but I have shot quite a few Contenders and Encores over the years and it was always something on my "to get" list. Been wanting to get a new rifle in .360 Buckhammer for deer hunting here in Ohio and have been impatiently waiting on the fence to see if Ruger's going to announce at the SHOT Show that they will start offering it in the Marlin 336's, but I may just hold out for the T/C since you pointed out you already have the barrels ready to go in this video. Hopefully you will be up and running with guns shipping by late summer or early fall so I can get one in time for firearm season next November.
This is exciting stuff. I’ll gladly pay for quality. Most firearm companies are going to cheaper/faster and there are plenty of us that still appreciate heirloom grade equipment.
Greg, Ill get straight to the point, Brother. Id much rather see this take a extra 6 months, than have it rushed. And it not be 100% the way you want it. And the way it needs to be. We've lived this long with out any new TC's. Id much rather see it take a little longer to be RIGHT. And im sure that's your feeling also. Just keep us updated with a short video once a month. And show us what's been being accomplished since the last video..Brother, We gotcha...
As a Retail Associate/ Gun Tech. For Brownells, I was thrilled to hear TC was coming back. I personally own several TC frames, barrels and stocks. Many of the customers I deal with on a regular basis, ask me if I'm interested in selling any of my guns, barrels or stocks. I excitedly tell them the story of the TC "come back!" TC has a world wide cult following. I look forward to seeing TC guns and components, hopefully on our web site again.
Freaking congratulations,on you're purchasing TC ,I'm so glade a outdoorsman owns them, and can't wait to see what the future brings for the customer and owner!!! Very Exciting Greg awesome stuff here!!!
Contender is my favorite. Have 309 JDJ 14”, (bug holes @100yards) easily the most accurate firearm in my collection. He is correct about the barrel being the heart and soul of accuracy!!! Glad to see TC is back, not sure how new machines could improve things that much?
To do things right, it does take time and I am glad to see you are doing it right. Proper planning prevents piss poor performance. I see the new website is starting to form. Can't wait until hats and shirts are available!
Thanks Greg for bringing T/C back. I waited a long time to purchase my 209x50 muzzleloader to get it set up the way I wanted it. I have since been able to add a rifle and turkey barrel to the frame. It's nice to know that T/C will be there to support longtime owners.
GREAT video that answers a lot of the questions people have; including me. seeing you walk through that warehouse of parts reminded me of trying to sort through a pile of stuff that came to me when a fellow enthusiast passed on. it was absolutely overwhelming and the scale of what i had to deal with was NOTHING compared to the scale you showed in the video. good to see the threaded barrels.
Congratulations, I truely hope all your hard work is worth it! I've never owned a TC, but I'll likely buy one in the future. I pray for your success and will support it with my $!
Thank you Greg Ritz! You are the reason I own a TC encore muzzleloader. I remember your high praise of the gun from at least 20 yrs ago. Don’t exactly remember how long ago, but recall you talking about how it was a true 300 yd gun.
Thank you Greg Ritz. Very exciting to see what you are doing to breathe life back into T/C. May God Bless you and your mission Sir. From all of us...THANK YOU.
On the one hand, this acquisition is very exciting and I'm happy that you're showing the true entrepreneurial energy and investments of a private equity firm, I'm sure you'll figure out all the parts and pieces to this puzzle! That said, I have an original custom TC 50 caliber muzzleloader with a Green Mountain barrel that shoots incredibly accurately but is a bear to disassemble and clean! It's truly an effort to get this ready to put away for the next season, so I had to bet a CVA Accura. Both CVA and Traditions have gone to removable breach plugs which makes it so much easier to break down and clean! Wishing you all the best of luck and I know you'll continue to innovate and continue to hold the lead in single-barrel technology!
5:55 when I saw that collection of pallets from S&W, I said to the screen, "It'll be less expensive to scrap most of that old material and manufacture new."
I'm very very pleased to see Greg pouring his heart into Thompson Center Arms... I can't wait to get a new thompson center encore and a bunch of different barrels..... seeing how much time, energy and money he has invested is a testament to the fact that he believes in Thompson Center and I do as well.... godspeed Greg Ritz and thank you for saving Thompson Center Arms!!!
Congratulations & best of luck on your new venture. I watched your hunts on TV growing up. The firearm laws have changed here in Michigan significantly reducing the number of muzzleloader hunters. I’d love to see the return of an early or late muzzleloader season. A muzzleloader was the most accurate option we had in the old “shotgun zone”. Thank you for your efforts in supporting the muzzleloading community. Godspeed. -Matt
Bought my Dad our first TC hawken 45 years ago, a 50 cal flintlock. Would love to have a shotgun barrel that fits a hawken frame. So glad to see such a fine company back in business.
Definitely a daunting task to sort and inventory it all. There is value in parts and people. When the sawmill I worked for was purchased by a larger company we had parts everywhere. The advantage was a few of the "old guys" that knew what parts went to which machine it was nice. The "old guys" were still working floor maintenance and time was used keeping things running. After some time, the new "bosses" came in with dumpsters and people with no clue to scrap it all.
I personally can't wait till you guys have products on the market. I am eagerly awaiting the encore release and will gladly purchase one when available. On behalf of all us awaiting....thank you.
Happy to see this. I own an early contender that was my dads. We took several Texas deer with the Gun. I think I have a 30/30 and 223 fireball barrels. I hope yall get a great website so I can get some info on the gun I inherited from my dad. In the 70's he only hunted with it. maybe a late 60's gun. Good luck
Take your time and do it right!!! That’s what the company was founded upon, and that’s what us end consumers expect!! Good luck and god bless Gregg and all the rest of the crew making this “new TC” machine happen!!
I was on the verge of buying a CVA Scout when I heard about the Resurrection ofThompson Center. Will now look forward to when I can buy a new Encore in 45-70.Thank You!
Please take your time ❤ T/C has so many parts, rifles, pistols, shotguns, muzzle loaders, and everything in between. We all know it will be done right 😺
I have always wanted to own a TC encore pro hunter. The new ones that will be coming out make more excited and honored to use in the field. Also being able to turn these new rifles into a family heirloom ❤️ Many blessings to the team of TC into the future! 🇺🇸
I would like to suggest a reintroduction of factory iron sights. Many manufactures don’t sell them with iron sights anymore, and with irons you don’t have to go buy a scope and rings, instead you can take it straight to the field for use.
Great video, wish you the absolute best. All that said please don’t use the term “quality first” as only a marketing tool. As a prior Icon owner I cannot stress enough the disappointment in that rifle. 95% of that gun exceeded my expectations; the accuracy was impressive, it was stunning to look at, fit like a glove and exuded quality. Right up until you tried to put the magazine in it…then a trigger recall….and oh the fun of dealing with the after sales support to fix both (which never did happen). My experience was the first trip fixed the magazine issue on 2 out of 3 magazines. Not a touch down… The second trip was for the trigger recall and they managed to recreate the magazine problem on all the magazines then tossed it in a box without any packing material so the barrel poked out of the package in transit and got beat up… For me it was a first and last T/C. That said I’m pulling for you and hope your hard work can entice me back to the brand.
With all the excitement generated by the news of T.C. being purchased and up and running. I certainly hope that we all go out and support them when they are available for purchase.
I would
I know I will be!! I knew when smith and Wesson bought them they would shut it down
I’m buying one as soon as they hit the shelves
X2
Mark a few items sold for me
So Glad Thompson center is coming back. So looking forward to seeing what Thompson Center brings out and purchasing a new Thompson center!
Me first! 😇👍
What an unimaginable task " New Thompson Center " is faced with . May your efforts produce fantastic firearms again.

Thank you for bringing back TC I've been shooting the rifles and the pistol for about 40 years
Greg take your time and bring a quality flawless product to market. Im really looking forward to the new line.
Overjoyed that TC is back. I am looking forward to buying another one of these fantastic guns again.
I worked in a factory for 40 years. From production to R&D, design, parts inventories, re-ordering, machine change overs and conversions. I feel your pain brother. God Bless Greg Ritz. Cant wait to see the new Encores Contenders and Hawken muzzle loaders . I am glad TC is coming back.
Yes, but wasn’t it Greg’s decision to sell to S&W
This is really awesome, Greg. Congrats, but what a project. Best of luck to you and your crew as you ramp this back up!
My Dad and I both wanted the Encore but never got them. This is very exciting. You are doing a great job getting it going and not just rebuilding TC as a brand but making it a brand new one!
Thank you for being honest and showing us behind the scenes! If the Contender comes back, I'll definitely be picking one up.
I cannot say how excited I am that TC is coming back! My pro hunter has been a workhorse for 20 years!! Looking forward to the future for you, best of luck to you and your team!!
Glad to hear you are back! I'm ready to step up to an in line muzzleloader. Need one legal for Idaho. Would love to support your business!
Takes time , inspection and certification !
So happy to see TC is going to be producing guns and rifles again. I never gave up on the platform and hunt almost exclusively with Encore rifles.
Thanks for taking us along on this journey. The buzz you are creating around this iconic brand is incredible. Looking forward to the rest of the story and adding some of these new firearms to the collection.
I’m rooting for you guys. Can’t wait for you to bring the venture back. I’ll buy one just to help support you guys.
Greg Ritz All the T/C family members Appreciate you bringing back the T/C. Can’t wait to see the new T/C. Thanks
Fantastic, got an encore, in 22-250 and 300wm. Hopefully it can be possible to buy more barrels for a Norwegian gun head 😃 again
We're counting on you!
My mom bought my dad a Contender many years ago. For his birthday, Christmas, Father's Day, etc., she would buy him a new barrel. Good times. Welcome back. :)
When will the public see the new products in stores?
If I were him I would not be making any promises date wise just yet.
Impatiently waiting for product to hit the LGSs😊
Thanks much for all the hard work regarding the acquisition! I am looking forward to continuing to purchase and use TC products.
It's good to see u all back we can wait see what u all have
The joy of knowing that the TC firearms are going to be continued is fantastic! The Contenders and black powder rifles that I have are wonderful and I hope to get one of the new guns soon . Keep up the good work!
Cant wait for those 360 buckhammer barrels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh and a new encore!!!!!!
All the best the new TC ….
Waiting patiently for the new releases
Kudos to you and your team
Along with my best wishes for the New Year, I wish you, the crew and the Thompson Center Arms company success and a bright future.
Thanks for these updates, they really mean a lot to a lot of people I'm sure. Personally I can't wait to purchase a new product to add to my line of Thompson firearms. Keep up the great work gang, I'm very excited.
Good luck Greg. Fine American made products. Thanks.

I love my Encore and am thrilled that you are back thank you for your efforts.
Glad to see TC is back!
To do things right, it does take time and I am glad to see you are doing it right. Proper planning prevents piss poor performance. I see the new website is starting to form. Can't wait until hats and shirts are available!
I need like 5 of these immediately!!!! Gimme the Encore!!!!!!!!!
Super excited to see your products available again. Can’t wait to get my hands on an encore
I'm excited to know that T/C is back in production. Can't wait to be able to get a new encore
Thanks Greg for bringing T/C back. I waited a long time to purchase my 209x50 muzzleloader to get it set up the way I wanted it. I have since been able to add a rifle and turkey barrel to the frame. It's nice to know that T/C will be there to support longtime owners.
Your hard work will pay off. Glad T/C is back!
Looking forward to getting some to the range and out hunting!
Dang, Gregg! I think you read my comment on your Facebook page last week, thanks for the update!
We are patient, keep up the good work because everyone knows you are doing it the right way. So Proud of you guys!

Overwhelming to say the least but you guys are getting it done! Hope t/c is here to stay now!
5:55 when I saw that collection of pallets from S&W, I said to the screen, "It'll be less expensive to scrap most of that old material and manufacture new."
Yeah, thats what I would do.
Sell it wholesale at a loss and save time and labour.
I’m glad you’re back, I love the T/C family of guns.
So glad Thomson Center is back☺
I'm very very pleased to see Greg pouring his heart into Thompson Center Arms... I can't wait to get a new thompson center encore and a bunch of different barrels..... seeing how much time, energy and money he has invested is a testament to the fact that he believes in Thompson Center and I do as well.... godspeed Greg Ritz and thank you for saving Thompson Center Arms!!!

I would bet quite a few employees are loving the opportunity to rebuild a wonderful company.
Love watching what you put online.
Bought my Dad our first TC hawken 45 years ago, a 50 cal flintlock. Would love to have a shotgun barrel that fits a hawken frame. So glad to see such a fine company back in business.
I appreciate your transparency. It’s been fun.
I hope this is the best comeback of all times. Can’t wait to get my hands on a new TC.

As an old supply guy, that looks like a fantastic organization task. Inventory and organizing, extreme fun.
I was on the verge of buying a CVA Scout when I heard about the Resurrection ofThompson Center. Will now look forward to when I can buy a new Encore in 45-70.Thank You!
Glad they're back , I have a Hawkins , Renegade and Pro Hunter , love TC's
Please take your time ❤ T/C has so many parts, rifles, pistols, shotguns, muzzle loaders, and everything in between. We all know it will be done right 😺
I have always wanted to own a TC encore pro hunter. The new ones that will be coming out make more excited and honored to use in the field. Also being able to turn these new rifles into a family heirloom ❤️
Many blessings to the team of TC into the future! 🇺🇸
The fact that TC was not at Shot Show tells me this whole revival is a pipe dream
I love this series.
I would like to suggest a reintroduction of factory iron sights. Many manufactures don’t sell them with iron sights anymore, and with irons you don’t have to go buy a scope and rings, instead you can take it straight to the field for use.
Yes and make them factory aperture sights
Take your time greg. Don't change what your doing. T/c has alway been a good quality product.
Great video, wish you the absolute best.
All that said please don’t use the term “quality first” as only a marketing tool.

God bless you for bringing tc back. My all time favorite hand gun, rifle and muzzle loader.❤
Looking forward to your success and seeing them in the store.
I can’t wait for the launch of this brand again. I won’t miss my chance on owning an Encore this go around!
