no deadass all the sex tips were only for men and all the “how to act” tips were to cater to gross misogyny. i ate it up when i was 19 and now am like …. ew
@@katiehyland5609 absolutely the sex tips we’re all about how to please men never to enjoy yourself ..pleasing men sexually is easy but trying to orgasm as a woman is much more difficult 😬
every time someone says that Sophia and Alex are greedy for asking for more money it comes across as kinda sexist and slightly delusional tbh. male celebrities will get paid way more than any of these women combined and people won’t think twice, but when a female celebrity asks to be paid a reasonable amount, using their male co celebrities payment as a reference, people start getting upset. if you think that Alex and Sophia where getting paid too much money, you’re probably correct, but you also have to be just as upset about it when a male celebrity does it as you are at them. all I’m saying is most of these people don’t get mad at men when they ask for a reasonable raise. it’s an unrealistic and hypocritical standard to set.
Honestly I wasn’t there at all when all of this was going down, but I assume it wouldn’t have been as bad if it was just the initial asking for more money when their podcast took off, but it was because of the constant adding on later that left a bad taste in people’s mouths
500%!! This is a documented phenomenon, people react negatively when women ask for a raise, but for men it is expected! Sandberg's Lean In has some good tools to try and get round biases like this, but it's awful!
I wasn't aware of this situation at all before watching this and I was shocked that two hosts making millions for a company asking for a raise in itself was considered controversial??? Like of course they should ask for a raise! This definitely shows society's expectation of women to always be content with what is given to them and not daring to be a loud advocate for themselves.
Putting aside all of the petty drama, it’s absolutely wild that anyone would see two women working their a$$es off making millions of dollars for a company only to be paid literal PENNIES for their labor. And I’m not saying $400K is nothing. That’s life changing money. But making $400K while your boss and his company takes in $5Mil is so off the wall. This whole narrative was purely based on sexism because I know for a damn fact if Spotify didn’t pay Joe Rogan millions for his podcast, people would say Joe and his work was being taken advantage of. But women just have to be grateful for whatever they get.
Like who should be keeping the money the podcast was taking in? Dave? Why tf wouldn't they get a bigger slice of the pie when they're doing the legwork and the ones people are listening too. It's like people complaining when ScarJo went after Disney for the black widow thing, defending Disney because scarlet wanted "too much" for 12mil when Disney's racking in literal *billions* of dollars.
@@romanfernandez4178 no one works "hard" enough for 5m for a podcast m8 lmao if you're making that kinda money it's because luck had a massive impact. Not that it's not deserved, but don't act like hard work will make you millions. You need luck. Otherwise we'd all be billionaires.
Hannah you keep coming out with videos about content I have never consumed or cared about and I sit through the whole thing absolutely fascinated because you have a way of just completely capturing my attention with your analysis. I love it.
Same! It doesn't matter the topic, you always make it incredibly fascinating. I have adhd and have a hard time paying attention to long form videos, but I never have any problems watching you. (I'll also turn on your videos to help me sleep because your voice is so soothing.)
@@jennifer_y_fischer omg same with the adhd!! Normally I watch like 2 minutes of a video and then I’m on twitter for a bit and then I check Instagram and then I’m on tiktok for a bit and then I come back to a video. It takes me forever to watch a whole video. But somehow I way more able to just sit down and watch a whole Smokey glow video with no problem. So interesting!
Completely agreed. I'm not in the demographic of any of her content nor do I have much prior interest of most of the topics she talks about (minus influencer culture).but she's just genuinely so interesting that I can't help but watch.
I used to listen to CHD for a stint until I realized how bad it made me feel about myself. There was such a heavy focus on separating the conventionally “hot” woman and the “soft 5/hard 4” (average/conventionally unattractive woman). There was so much focus on the male gaze that it killed all aspects of empowerment for me, and sent me on a spiral of self-esteem issues.
I completely agree, Im a 22 year old living in a big city which is essentially CHD'S target audience but I never found it relatable. To me, it felt like listening to the female version of 2 douche bag frat bros bragging about how many bitches they get 😂. Even though that shock value is what made them so popular, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Both of the women are very funny and entertaining to listen to, but I think the content itself is a bad representation of how MOST women view and talk about sex. They could have still been funny without the backhanded misogyny.
Call Her Daddy always rubbed me wrong content wise, it always seemed veiled in misogyny and they always talked from a place of the superior “hot girl”. Just was cringe to listen to as a woman.
Not only that but considering the things that have come out about Alex about making jokes about sa, animal abuse, and so much other things lately makes everything so much worse! The show has always rubbed the wrong way, and overall it seemed like a mess.
My ex LOVED Call Her Daddy. He said they were “really interesting, really understood men AND women, and I could probably learn some things from it!” I never really listened to it, but his reasons for liking it felt like red flags anyway lol
I heard of it sporadically over the years but I dismissed listening to it at all once they went to Barstool. I didn’t think there was a way for them to cater to Barstool’s primary audience and also provide nuanced and women focused takes on sex and dating. From a bunch of other comments seems like it was really catering to the male gaze.
Yeah, as a gay guy I've only ever heard straight men talk about CHD. I gave it a listen at one point but without the attraction to them it came off as very try hard/pick me/not like other girls.
I love this series. Would be interesting to make one on Bon Apetit too, since they went from absolutely loved to totally tarnished within a matter of weeks.
Yeah, like i think its like corporations doing corporation shit and not compensating their workers properly and im happy solah left to do better things cuz bon appetit wasnt treating her well
I just out loud exclaimed “I needed this!!!” I never listened to call her daddy and when everything was going on it was so hard to keep up with. I know you’re going to cover this so well, so I’m pumped!
The only thing I ever saw about this podcast was a Twitter clip of the podcasters being absolutely HORRIBLE describing sleeping with a Black man. It was the most blatant and vile fetishization that honestly no one else would get away with. I don’t think they (or at least Alex) were unreasonable in negotiating their contracts but that left such a bad taste in my mouth I have very little sympathy.
Well… have you heard what black men discuss sex with white women to be like? Like, with no restraints or caution? I’m pretty sure you think that the most vile fetishization, you probably haven’t.
I used to listen to call her daddy until I realized it made me feel like I was in highschool being bullied by “the hot girls” all over again. Like the way they talk about some things just reminds me of Regina from Mean Girls saying something sweet and nice but really actually judging you.
As someone who listens to Sofia's podcast, I think you really missed a significant point that Alex had a ghost writer while Sofia wrote her own stuff! That's why they could never do live shows. Sofia brought a lot to the show and Alex never credited her for it and made it seem like she deserved more for the editing, but Sofia was lazy.
I recently re-listened to the first episode if Sofia’s podcast because I remember her saying that. But Alex has since done live shows on her own so it’s always made me doubt that claim
@@singingbird8580 It's very possible Alex stopped relying on a ghostwriter, improved and got better lol. I did find the claim that Sofia was lazy hard to swallow in general. It's a team of 2 in the first year of a podcast? I don't even think it's possible to be lazy in the beginning otherwise it just crashes and burns quickly. It's possible what actually happened is the two contributed in different ways and one didnt value the others contributions
I doubt this claim so much. Or to the level that Sofia claims. They both probably talked to guy friends and got content from there. Because one of Sofias ex boyfriends has also gone on to say the same thing about her. How multiple stories of hers were his. I also think it’s funny how if Alex actually did have a ghost writer Sofia literally never cared until this deal blew up in her face. Because had this not exploded the way it did, Sofia would have never once exposed this because Sofia and Alex benefitted off of everything shared with each other. She would have kept quiet and continued to benefit off this “ghost writer” forever, as long as she got her stacks.
So I've never found them relatable in any way and was shocked (but also not at all yknow) that they became so huge. Like another commenter said, it was like listening to the superior "hot girl." They were carbon copies of the cliquey and ignorant popular girls in highschool. And just how generic and dull those popular girls were in highschool, CHD's views were incredibly boring and bland and not to mention laced in privilege with very heteronormative and misogynist expectations. There are far, far better AND funnier sex focused or even "girl talk"-esque podcasts out there. I feel like their popularity came from the fact they were bought up by Barstool's network so much of their audience was also men who wanted to watch them to see hot girls talk about dating & sex on a predominantly male/college bro network. They're women who are traditional in almost every conventional sense except *gasp* they talk about sex so Republican college bros eat that shit up, it's hilarious
@@allyg2009 i love Laid Bare, it's black women from the UK talking about their sex lives and sex positivity. It's great because it is way less focused on pleasing men and also has lesbian and bi hosts. The Receipts is so funny too, it's mostly advices and their listeners sending in their crazy stories. Cocktales is kind of the same. Whoreible Decisions is one of the first sex podcast there is and it used to be great, i would advise you to listen to the episodes from a few years ago. Now it can be annoying cause the hosts clearly hate each other now. THE HEART !! its so good and way more intimate, less gossip-y and more focused on love and feelings.
Yep! Barstools platform was a HUGE reason this podcast exploded. It put them right in front of the right people who “eat that shit up”. Which is why them coming back at Barstool with ask sheets so outrageous that basically said “screw you” to Barstools role made them look so greedy. Barstools audience and platform was exactly what this podcast needed. There are TONS of girl sex talk podcasts that are way better than Call Her Daddy that just don’t have anywhere near the platform.
@@allyg2009 i’d also suggest Why Wont You Date Me with Nicole Byer! She’s a black plus sized woman and she often has LGBTQ+ guests and people from diverse backgrounds so I feel like you get a different, but still fun, perspective on sex and dating.
They've done some scummy shit with Jenna marbles. I only know of a video they uploaded with a thumbnail of Jenna missing another woman and there was a blog post she made when barstool wanted to claim ownership over a viral video she made.
I havent listened to Sofia's podcast and her explaining her side, but I distinctly remember seeing Alex's video and thinking how completely blameless she made herself out to be. She never once said she did anything wrong or slighted Sofia in any way. I couldn't buy that lol
but you never mentioned sofia’s side at allllll. she hasn’t talked about it a lot but she has talked about it in two episodes of her podcast. i think her points were valid tbh, she WROTE the show and they literally read from scripts because alex isn’t super witty or funny - which is apparent in the new episodes of chd. they didn’t do live shows or tour because alex refused and needed a script before going to the studio to film the podcast. also the sofia smear merch that barstool sports sold and alex promoted was pretty gross too. profiting from a friendship breakup and bullying the other person is just gross to me. both girls kinda rub me the wrong way but i think to be fair alex and barstool sports really drove down this narrative of sofia being lazy and ruthless and under the control of her bf when that really isn’t the full story. in the new chd you can tell alex is no comedian and is more of a guys-girl. while sofia in her podcast is funny but it definitely drags without alex’s editing. they were a super entertaining duo but i neither work perfectly on their own. also i don’t think sofia is a great person, but i think her side deserves to be heard too when she has mentioned it in more than and ig story and objectively both girls were being exploited by dave portnoy scum of the earth.
That’s my main issue with this video.. Hannah watched Alex’s video and just went with her narrative. I kept waiting for Hannah to bring up Sofia with an F and MILF Hunter’s side of the story. I was very invested in the drama at the time as a fan of the original show, so I followed both girls to understand what happened. I don’t listen to either now, but this video is not fair to Sofia at all.
Everything CHD taglined to sell (in exception to the “Gluck Gluck”) was Sophia’s content. Sophia was the funny one, the writer, whereas Alex was any replaceable girl. Sophia’s content was always capitalized on. Also just personally, I feel Alex continued to show her sketchy side with letting Jamie Lynn on.
I don’t listen to Alex’s podcast now, so idk if she’s still like this, but I know personally for me, the internalized misogyny was gross. It gave me “boss girl” vibes, where they wrap up sexist principles in a feminist bow and call it progressive.
I honestly feel kind of bad for Sofia. It’s obvious that her boyfriend was really persuading and influencing her thoughts about the matter and the fact that she was so new to the industry definitely made her believe his words at face value. If she’s not with him anymore, or even if she is, I think she’s probably realized how her boyfriend screwed her.
Sofias podcast has a episode where she breaks down her side of the story. It’s really eye opening to show the background behind Alex’s and Dave’s actions.
@@MNBLUCKY it’s her first episode on Sofia With An F and she has a second episode with “milf hunter” talking about how Alex betrayed him as well. That’s another level of wtf because milf hunter and Alex were childhood friends
She has podcasts where she pretty much refutes NOTHING that Dave or Alex ever said. Sofias only claim was that Alex had a “ghost writer”. Which is funny because Sofias ex boyfriend has also gone on to say basically the exact same thing about Sofia. That he ghost wrote content for Sofia. The girls used their “male friends” for content and inside perspective and then talked about it on the podcast. BOTH girls did this. Also let’s just say Alex DID have a full blown ghost writer, Sofia would have said NOTHING about this if she got her way. Why? Because Sofia benefitted off of EVERYTHING Alex said and vice versa. Sofia going on to play this victim that felt so bad for Alex’s ghost writer getting no piece of the pie, is funny when you realize that if this didn’t blow up the way it did, Sofia would have never stood up for that “poor ghost writer” because she was making damn good money off of him. She is just as slimy. Its show business, views, likes, merch sales and sponsors, thats all they care about
I think a piece you're missing is that there was a brief period where Alex started to come under fire during the early releases of her solo CHD career - not just because it was awkward, but because she began to say relatively tone deaf borderline problematic things. It wasn't a huge hit to her career, but she did lose a lot of OG CHD fans (myself included). People began voicing, primarily on the CHD subreddit and Instagram, that while Alex did heavy lifting with the editing, Sofia was likely responsible for many of the signature jokes and humor (which she has since hinted at on Sofia With An F). Sofia also likely acted as a sounding board that kept the show relatable, as she was more down to earth / had worked a normal 9-5 before, and Alex had always wanted to be famous (which isn't bad, but she'd never had a 'real world' job). And post-drama CHD was very tone deaf and influencer-based - Alex deserved more money for editing, yes, but Sofia definitely had her merits as well, which became glaringly obvious in her absence. This was a great and neutral take on the topic, but I do think you could easily leave this video and villainize Sofia. End of the day, they just did what's best for them and Alex had a quicker reaction time online. I don't think from a PR perspective it was smart of Sofia to ghost the internet, but she has since said on her podcast that she was in an extremely poor mental health state. She flew back home to Utah, was simultaneously likely dealing with her break up with Peter Nelson AND her friendship with Alex blowing up, and I personally think it was really smart of her to take that step back.
I stopped listening pretty soon after Alex started making episodes without Sofia. I just didn’t find it anywhere as entertaining as I used to, & it also really bothered me how much she talked over her guests
I started listening CHD after this drama and knew nothing about it but I noticed that Alex never contradicts or corrects her guests and let them spew whatever misinformation they want. After that terrible idea to have Britney's sister on I stopped listening completely. I agree with other comments saying that Sofia's side is out there and should have been included more but good job on the video anyway :)
Honestly I love learning about random happenings to people on the internet who I know nothing about, which makes content like this perfect for me. Whatever you make, I’m gonna watch it. You clearly do your research, take an objective stance, and support similar values as me which just makes anything you put out there relatable. So kudos! 👏
yea but she didn’t talk about it at the time, so nobody gave a shit. she waited too long to tell her side of the story and sofia’s podcast was released too late
I kinda wish you went into more detail about what happens when an “influencer” becomes more famous than the platform that built them. that’s what really interests me about CHD. They out grew barstool but were still contracted with them.
@@airypersiflage Somewhat late reply (im minorly intoxicated so mind any spelling errors). I haven't personally listened to CHD but I hope Hannah covers Grace Helbig one day. I think this is a similar thing to Grace being screwed around and being severely underpaid due to being stuck in a horrible and unfair contract. Its been a while since I even interacted with Grace's content in any way but I used to be a huge fan and if I remember correctly she was getting paid a wage/salary despite how big of a creator she was and it still shocks me that one of the largest creators on the platform at the time was being treated that way. I feel like if Grace's situation happened today in 2022 it would be massive news and everyone on the platform would be discussing it seriously. Its a shame Grace is in the place she is now, she was probably making a ton of money for the company she was signed with, but since there wasn't as much knowledge about the process and how much can be made by being an "influencer"/online personality, I feel as though her situation was majorly swept under the rug and no one talks about it anymore since it did happen quite a long time ago (in terms of youtube time) Im not saying Grace's choice in signing the bad contract was entirely on her, I think it was just such new territory that neither she nor the company could have imagined how much money youtube could bring in when the contract was signed and Grace agreed to it
@@morgzzzzzzzz i think she is where she wants to be and is doing okay. i don't interact with her content as much as i used to either, but she and Mamrie opened a beautiful airbnb / photo destination home in FL; she was one of the YT who got a book published in 2014 (and a second one in 2016); she does various comedy work and pods; was doing auditions a fair bit back then too (i recall seeing her in a Lowe's ad on tv); etc. seems like she bounced back from the very unfair and restrictive contract issue. but i admired her for speaking up about it to warn others because plenty of YT folks were being sought out by companies like that and talent agencies.
Love you and your channel so much - but Sofia absolutely did address it. She has 2 (if not more) podcasts talking about it. You should listen to it. It definitely sheds a lot of light on her place in the matter. She didn’t say anything for a bit because she was worried about legality.

Sofia openly said it was her plan to stay quiet, smokey mentions it and the podcast she said it on. It was a strategy, not because she was scared of legal action. She did nor sign an NDA she is free to speak truthfully about the experience.
@@MomsFavoriteSpawn I also think it’s weird how people seem to think Sofia was “silenced”. Like you said, Sofia has literally said herself that the silence and ghost period from her was a thought out strategic plan she had. I doubt she signed anything that prohibited her from speaking. Dave and Erica (Barstool CEO) were both pretty transparent about everything regarding the CHD girls, so i can’t imagine they would suddenly “silence her”. I think Smokey Glow was right in that a big reason why Sofia stayed silent was because there IS a lot of truth in what Dave, Barstool & Alex all said. And especially looking back now, when CHD signed a 60 million dollar deal, it’s probably extremely hard to admit you fumbled that bag and that it was not a wise business move after all.
You didn't talk about it, but Sofia did mention In her podcast how Alex backstabbed her and their friend milf hunter. They even had an episode together where they basically talked shit about Alex for 50 minutes. I can't remember exactly what she said, but she added a lot of info and explained her side of things. Anyways thank you so much for this video Hannah!! It was great as alwaysss:))
Yea I felt like the video was kind of one sided. I never heard of CHD until the drama and checked out both CHD and Sofia with an F and found Sofia more organically entertaining. And she has def explained in her own way what happened. I’ve read and watched interviews with Alex and she rubs me the wrong way tbh. Something is off. They both messed up in the situation tho
I think the differences in the trajectory of both of their professional lives really proves that you really need to address anything head on. Especially now, silence is usually attributed to admission of guilt. Even if that’s now always the case.
Let's not forget CHD released merch saying 'cheat on him' and encouraged listeners to cheat on their partners if they weren't being fulfilled sexually! Instead of taking the chance to encourage listeners to have a healthy conversation with their partner about boundaries, how to go about having such a conversation, and what to do next, they went straight to promoting cheating. IDC if it was a joke or not (to me, it didn't seem like one) but either talk to your partner or break up with them. Cheating isn't the answer, and to see such a large platform promote that message to women is demeaning and just plain bad.
@@g7924 doing the same thing and stooping to a disgusting level is stupid. If you really feel you're at the point you're considering cheating, just break up. It will be better for everyone.
I had best best friends in my early 20s, shortly after I turned 30 I dropped 2 of my bfs of over 8 years because I realized I outgrew them. I started practicing self love for the first time in my life and realized I was getting nothing out of those friendships and hadn’t been for years. Outgrowing friends can be painful but it’s often apart of life. It hurt both of them that I was no longer interested in continuing the friendship the way it was for years but I had to choose me. There were serious codependency issues and they both were like being in a one sided platonic romantic relationship, where one person is getting completely taken care of and the other is depleted in every way possible. I cherish our times together but I was so happy to move on to a new chapter of my life where my needs also mattered and were being met. Don’t ever feel guilty for ending friendships that no longer serve you, no matter how long you’ve been friends.
Seeing this discussion is beneficial to me. I am turning 24 this year, which is young in the grand scheme of things, but I definitely feel like I have outgrown a couple of friendships. It's nice knowing other people go through these experiences and I'm not some hateful anti-social person lol.
@@karleevalentine7748 not at all!!! End those friendships that no longer serve you! I knew things weren’t right at that age but didn’t have the confidence to follow through with it. instead, like you said blamed myself and told myself i was just being selfish, antisocial, a bad person, negative, the list goes on. It would’ve saved me so much more money, time, and most importantly my happiness if I followed through with my intuition. You will feel 100000x times better and flourish after. No more people pleasing in 2022 lol !
This resonates with me so much. I had a similar situation happen with a girl friend I met in high school. The relationship had been a little toxic here and there then once I got into my 30’s I started to realize how draining her friendship was to me. I got anxiety every time I saw her name on my phone. She would consistently call me a bad friend and then take it back when she felt she wasn’t getting enough attention from me. Yet would be completely oblivious to the fact that I have a life too & negative things were going on for me & my emotional tank wasn’t enough to fill hers and mine. I feel much happier now. When you get older you will learn what relationships need cultivating & which ones your better off without. & that’s okay!
This is interesting 🤨! You started practicing self love for the first time then dropped your friends who you probably needed at the time , to through your bullshit. Sounds like you just used them but hey congratulations to you finding yourself.
So happy that you uploaded! I’m a pre-med student and I’m always up late studying. I watched your update video and from someone who also struggles with mental health I hope you are doing okay🥺💖
i think a critical piece of context is how vehemently anti-union dave portnoy is. his company has gotten into trouble for violating labor laws related to unionizing, not to mention how truly terrible contracts at barstool are (they include clauses that you can't sue the company for sexual harassment or workplace issues because it's a "creative space" and you're going to hear offensive things). putting negotiating in bad faith on sofia is a problem because portnoy treats his employees and contracts like dirt. wanting to get out from the barstool contract probably also had a lot to do with barstool being a sexist cesspool. him going into their feed was an anti-organizing tactic to intimidate them.
I had never seen/heard the podcast when they were doing it together and only saw an episode when Alex interviewed Miley Cyrus and it was soo uncomfy and cringe (100% on the part of Alex) to then learn she had this massive following was so strange to me. I really don't say this often but Alex gives major pick me vibes.
Omg! I’d never listened to call her daddy, but I’d heard of it a bunch, but I never knew it was such a dramatic end! Love seeing this, thanks for catching me up Hannah!
Some points I believe are important: - The fact that after a year it was sold for 60mil, shows the true potential of the show and that sofia was incredibly correct about that - alex and barstool created merch for canceling suitman - alex still uses and profits out of staff that sofia said and done such as unwell hoodies.
As a girl who’s 42 I can totally agree about friendships in your 20s being fleeting..I have some I look back on fondly for being learning experiences. One was so toxic I’m so glad that’s over and I tried to give her chances but you can’t save everyone..great video loved it..hope ur better ❤️❤️
I wish you would have given Sofias side a little more in this video! I know its not a popular opinion but IMO- while their dynamic was like lightning in a bottle, Sofia was the true talent on CHD. She also talks all the time about how she felt like Alex was a huge clout chaser (staging paparazzi pics, leaking info thru a "source" to the media etc) in her words "the best liar she ever met" and also super manipulative, and as someone who listened to ALL their episodes I believe it, Alex was constantly interrupting Sofia and basically used her as what I call a social buffer. Also what kind of best friend goes behind your back and gets a raise on a job where you both have the same position?? and you live with them???? Also once Alex secured the deal by herself to keep going with CHD she launched a tear down campaign with Dave and barstool against Sofia which imo was cruel and unnecessary especially since Alex saw first hand how much Sofia struggled with depression and anxiety. Anyways I feel like there's so much nuanced in this story and it captured so much attention that you could do a part 234 with this story! love your deep dive content !!! love you!
Thiiiis! I never heard of the CHD until the drama. It’s not the type of content I like. But I listened to some older episodes and found Alex not funny and insufferable and could only enjoy it bc of Sofia . Then I listened CHD post Sofia and it was like just bad. Then I tried out Sofia’s podcast and really enjoyed it. She’s way more personable and naturally funny. I also think she went ghost bc her mental health was suffering. She moved back home over a year I think after everything went down. I wish Hannah had listened to Sofia’s back catalog to give a more nuanced take. I’m not even a super fan, just nosy, when it happened and could tell Alex was p bs person.
are we just going to ignore the fact that alex asked for a raise because she did ALL THE WORK? lmao. sofia followed the advice of her boyfriend and got screwed over for being greedy.
I love my best friend, we are both gonna eat and get a bag. Bc what I get, they get too and that’s also just how I am (Libra). They obviously weren’t bffs like that.
@@stephaniewhisenant8931 Alex says that she did all the work. And maybe she did the editing but Sofia was THE talent. The stories came from Sofia. The popular sayings that are still on the CHD merch came from Sofia. The quality of CHD has plummeted since Sofia left. It’s a robotic interview show now. Sofia carried the show and made it CHD. Alex just edited it.
sofia did actually talk about the situation a lot on her podcast (sofia with an F) with alex’s ex friend from childhood (who also was an integral part of the show) about alex and the situation and on other podcasts such as the skinny confidential. i don’t think you portrayed sofia accurately in this (i don’t think intentionally). she did speak up, and while she did “ghost” for the 6-8 month or so period, she did say her side of things a lot. both girls are in the wrong in some ways, and while a lot of what u said is true (from my understanding), sofia did speak on it and i don’t think it’s accurate to say she didn’t.
Honestly I never comment on videos but this is my favourite RUclips channel. There is clearly lots of effort put into them and each video is perfect and exactly what I never knew I needed. Thank you
400K was a small amount compared to the amount barstool was making off them so it makes sense to get paid a fair amount vs what they bring in!! It made sense once everyone realized how the podcast unexpectedly blew up! That being said money is not everything and keeping the IPO is worth a ton! Obv Alex made the right move to run the course of the barstool contract and then keep the IPO and make $60 mill or whatever it was. I still wish Sofia could have been hosting with her now. Sofia was supposedly more creative and Alex was great at editing.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed up a deal with Spotify for 18 millions dollars. 18M! And all they relised was one Christmas podcast (audio only features other celebrities). That's it! So I don't understand why people are so triggered if two girls who were working their ass off daily wanted a raise. In show business people make an insane amount of money and 400k pee years it's not that much.
You have great ideas for videos. I love all the different avenues you take. I would love to hear your opinion on My Favorite Murder podcast. Their friendship went through hell and they were very open about it and even went to counseling to fix their friendship and to this day they are still making podcasts. They take breaks when they need, they talk very openly about their struggles and I think they are better for it.
Honestly I'd heard about the call her daddy podcast wen this was all happening but didn't ever really look deeper into it. It's fascinating. Although I do have a problem with how they interviewed Jaimie Lynn wen her book came out. It was completely one sided n u could tell absolutely no research had been done outside Jaimies own biased one. It was a trainwreck.
Until this video I was blissfully unaware of this part of the internet. HOWEVER, why is it when women want to renegotiate their salaries and ask for more money they get treated as if their job is someone how charity? Like women should be grateful for the opportunity to just provide someone else value. This is a really sexist double standard. Of course we hear about men asking for outrageous salary raises, but it’s doesn’t get the same criticism.
Really ruining your career for fleeting money should get criticized ,has nothing to do with women, men also have the problem of pride if to where ask artist or actors who only took projects becuase of money you would know that it is not only sexism.
@@romanfernandez4178 Renegotiating a salary or a contract is normal business dealings and these women could demonstrate the value they brought into their company. That’s not “blowing up your career” by giving the ultimatum of renegotiate or walk. If you make $400,000 in a year and get this popular, you have other options and it’s not unprofessional to explore those options and make demands on your employer.
@@samiam2088 the thing is its fine to want more i am not saying dont want more but its your first year and you dont know your loyal following ,getting a big contract may ruin your life if two monts later situations change, again see NBA players drafted for a lot of money and see how fast careers change
All the catch phrases from call her daddy were created by Sofia. While Alex was editing, Sofia was creating most of the jokes, discussion topics, and contacting guests.
I’m a little surprised you didn’t mention Sofia’s first episode on her podcast, multiple times you said she didn’t mention the issue again, but she mentioned it there. Bringing on “milf hunter” who said Alex tends to get rid of people once she doesn’t see a financial gain. From my understanding “Milf hunter” and Sofía were the content writers and that’s why Sofia saw their work as 50/50, if that’s true idk, idk podcast content, but I’m surprised you didn’t mention her side. Edit:typos
I haven’t seen a video from you in my recommended since Glowmas, and that was EARLY December. I thought you had stopped uploading. That’s very strange for the algorithm to randomly show you less when I usually watch every single video. Happy to be back tho! ❤️
There’s so much to unpack here so I’ll just share my personal “journey” with CHD. Basically, I didn’t hear about CHD until they went through the separation drama (on a RUclips tea channel lol), and then didn’t start listening to episodes until half a year later. I only started listening because my relationship of several years had ended & I was looking into getting back out there into the dating world by listening to a variety of their episodes from the past couple of years. While I liked their banter, I found the messaging around superficiality, mind games, etc., to be incredibly toxic. I remember one of my friends telling me that CHD was in the right because the dating world is so toxic and mind game-heavy nowadays anyway, so you might as well adapt. I stopped listening for a while because I disagreed with that & only got back into things when Alex switched to a more mental health-conscious & interview-heavy podcasting style. And I found it interesting because even though there were still raunchy stories & tips, she began sharing perspectives on her old content, saying that mind games can be toxic, self-love is vital, boundaries are essential, etc. - undermining hers & Sofia’s early messages. (Interestingly enough, that same friend who told me CHD was right & games are needed, got into a relationship with minimal games & now says they’re not necessary or healthy. Which I find funny.) Now I’ll only listen to CHD podcasts off & on if I think the person being interviewed might be interesting. But overall, Alex rehabbing the image of controversial figures like Jamie Lynn Spears & Colton Underwood without holding them accountable really hasn’t sat well with me. I also listened to the first few episodes of Sofia's new podcast, and overall wasn't a fan of how Sofia insulted & berated old CHD listeners... Yes, there are two sides to every story but I don't think that ranting at people who still listened to Alex was a good move. I think that turned many people off, especially if they were just curious & wanted to hear her side of things. Being called an id10t off the bat is a bit of a turnoff & probably wasn't a great move.
Hey Hannah, so I remember vaguely hearing about Call Me Daddy when it fell apart, but it wasn't something I followed since I had never heard of them before. But when I saw this video in my sub box, I had to click cos I just always enjoy your videos breaking down these events in Internet History, whether I already know the situation or not. So honestly, thank you so much for all the work you do for your viewers. We appreciate the work you put into these videos!!
Hi Hannah, I love your videos and this was a very good breakdown. My only criticism was, like some comments have been saying, that I felt you covered Alex side way more than Sofia's. I remember Sofia coming out with her side of the story but it was not mentioned in this video. You are usually very balanced in your videos, so this was probably a fluke (plus I know you've not been well) but I felt this was just one sided. I still love you and your content but this is just my opinion.
I feel like this was a little one sided, I don’t listen to either of their podcasts anymore, but I do think that Alex is a lot more conniving than she made it seem. She basically just blamed everything on Sofia (and she was probably telling some of the truth) but left out her involvement in the whole thing.
If the story about Sophia stopped at her being mad that Alex was being paid more and she quit to do her own thing, that'd be much more nuanced. But all of the negotiating details is what cemented people's opinions against her.
Sofia's new podcast is EVERYTHING CHD should have been- she's grown so much in terms of maturity and the topics she covers. She was the one with the naturally entertaining personality to begin with
Yup, I think what Alex has done with CHD has been great but Sofia was the funny/relatable one! Maybe at least to me. Sofia was the one with crazy stories getting into trouble, having an adventurous sex life. Alex just dated athletes 🤷🏼♀️ Edited to spell Sofia’s name right (it’s literally in the title of her pod and still got it wrong 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️)
Love you Hannah, but sofia has definitely talked about it very in depth on the first 2 episodes of her podcast. Hopefully you can make a part 2 on this video that explains her side. Great video otherwise, Hannah!!
Do not care about Call Her Daddy or most of the drama you talk about on this channel but I DO care about how well you analyse and explain everything! It's so entertaining and insightful, thank you for the work you put in 🧡
8:35 I remember rewatching this when I was going through a rough time with a friend and you talking about how not every friendship is meant to last your entire life stuck with me. Six months later, I’m back for the reminder because of a different situation.😅 it’s advice I need, though.
Omg Hannah thank you for addressing this. I was thinking the exact same thing about the ingrained sexism in this situation. How because they are women them asking for more money is being greedy but a man would "know his worth, and make a smart career move". I thought you were not going to touch on this and I am so happy to see that you did. Because girl from the start I was thinking about it.
Rifenstine has talked a lot about the “when in doubt, upload it out” phenomenon that seems to happen when influencers end up in hot water. Starr, Dobrik, and Dawson have all done it successfully.
I think Sofia explained at least part of her side of the story in her new podcast Sofia with an F. I remember her saying that although Alex edited the podcast, Alex had a ghostwriter while Sofia wrote her own material so she felt that creatively she was doing more work. I would love to see an update if you listen to an episode or two of Sofia's podcast!
I hadnt watched you in a while, but I got reminded why I love your videos. Your informed opinions, mostly unbiased storytelling and rightful anger (or happiness or anything else) make your content so so satisfying! You are doing an incredible job of being trustworthy and also having enjoyable content
27:00 min in - I get why Alex deserves the raise and why she may not have told Sophia but if she’s your partner, you guys made this baby together and it’s a justified raise then you shouldn’t be hiding it from your partner. You don’t have to give details but of course she’s going to be mad… likee duh Plus if I’m not mistaken (please correct me if I am wrong) but didn’t Sophia WRITE the show and Alex EDITED the show? So how is it justified or fair that the editor gets a raise but not the writer… writing can take just as many hours, you have to think of how to write as 2 different people, time it out, be interesting and grabbing. I’m trying to have sympathy for Alex but I at his point I still think she’s a big sell out. I can’t take her crap seriously, especially not since she started hosting interviews with people like Jamie-Lynn… which really makes me wonder how you praise her interview skills when like… wtf lol 38:00 & 44:00 min - but she did give her side? On her own podcast… you kept saying that she never shared her side but that’s just wrong lol she literally goes through it and then addresses Alex directly Also since when is being friends for 4 years a short amount of time?? Show me two high schoolers or adults that can stay friends for 4 years lol in todays climates
I never even heard of Call Her Daddy aside from maybe in passing from other friends or social media. But the vibe I get is that Sophia and Alex were kinda like the 2010s version of Carrie and Samantha from Sex and the City.
Genuinely surprised this was about drama that happened two years ago, I didn't even know it happened and only learned about this podcast when Jamie Lynn Spears was on it - so here I was thinking that girl singlehandedly killed Call Her Daddy 😂😭
I'm so with you on the salary thing! It's crazy that we've normalized CEOs earning millions off the backs of people who are doing the actual work, and then turn on people for asking for what they're worth. That's just the rich turning the rest of us against each other!
I agree with a lot of the comments, Sofia shares her "side" on her own podcast and I think it's really fair that Alex had her own agenda. I don't know 😕
As someone who just lost her best friend from college (she's not dead, she just ghosted me), your comment about college friends being there to teach you lessons hit me HARD
I feel like actually listening to Sofia’s podcast would have helped you understand Sofia’s side. She actually has explained what went down several times. Alex IMO is the female version of Dave, which isn’t great.
CHD was that individualistic feminism where it's everybody for themselves and boy did Alex practice what she preached. The most fascinating thing about CHD was when Sofia left and the narrative that was spun by Barstool and Alex in order to push her out. It's an important lesson about how bad going into business with friends can be because that trust can blind you. Overnight Sofia became the symbol for that best friend controlled by their domineering boyfriend, and I want to say it was she said, she said, but we just didn't get anything from Sofia because it happened so fast. All of a sudden she was this lazy emotional vampire and Alex was just the good friend propping her up and was secretly the backbone of the show while Sofia just leeched off the fruits of her labor. It was ridiculous how it actually worked and when you look back on it, Alex had to have been planned that out. So not only was Sofia not first, but she was also caught off guard which would not have happened if they were simply co-hosts. Barstool backs the winning horse, she loses access to the fans, Alex gets to go on the show and to tell her version of events while sucking up to David Portnoy, which in retrospect is ironic given that she portrayed herself as this girlboss feminist while Sofia was the one who needed to hide behind a man. Most people aren't going to go to another podcast they don't know about to hear Sofia's side and if they're going to her personal instagram, it's going to be to put her down, not listen to her side because Alex and Portnoy did weaponize their fans against her. It just goes to show you how shallow their brand of empowerment was. The moment Alex saw those dollar signs Sofia was expendable to her. And when Sofia left, it was all, "Aw, daddy gang I'm so sad that Sofia left us for her boyfriend, but maybe she can make it on OF!" Just vicious and a truly toxic community that's a direct result of their content. I checked on each of their content recently and CHD is a snoozefest. Sofia with an F is more interesting, but it's still not for me. It at least seems a lot less shallow.
Never heard about this pod nor the drama that went down, seeing the cover for the podcast I can see why it would never land on my circle of internet interests. but i'm always ready to listen to you talk abou these internet histories ❤❤
Hannah, we love you and it’s okay to take a break whenever you need it. We understand you, and we’ll be here for you when you’re ready to post again. This community just wants you to put yourself first. I saw your video yesterday and I’m glad to know that you’re okay, but at the same time we don’t want you to stretch yourself thin. I hope you’ll feel better and I know that mental health is a monster to take on. As a mother, I question my abilities to do anything and everything and whether I’m failing or succeeding in tasks. You do you and love yourself like we love you. You’re the best girl! ❤️
I think it’s also important to note that people call Sofia’s negotiations “shady” but Alex did get a $60 million contract eventually. Obvs not a completely direct result from the negotiations but nonetheless none of that would have happened without Sofia and that really sucks for her. I’m not like a “fan” of either, just an observer. I think a great pod is Forbidden Fruits with Julia Fox, better interview style.
Call Her Daddy seemed to clothe itself in sex positivity, yet it always felt like it was *for* the male gaze.
no deadass all the sex tips were only for men and all the “how to act” tips were to cater to gross misogyny. i ate it up when i was 19 and now am like …. ew
This!!!!! You could not have said it better
very patriarchal and peak liberal/choice feminist for sure
@@katiehyland5609 absolutely the sex tips we’re all about how to please men never to enjoy yourself ..pleasing men sexually is easy but trying to orgasm as a woman is much more difficult 😬
the only people I knew who actually enjoyed it were men lmao
every time someone says that Sophia and Alex are greedy for asking for more money it comes across as kinda sexist and slightly delusional tbh. male celebrities will get paid way more than any of these women combined and people won’t think twice, but when a female celebrity asks to be paid a reasonable amount, using their male co celebrities payment as a reference, people start getting upset.
if you think that Alex and Sophia where getting paid too much money, you’re probably correct, but you also have to be just as upset about it when a male celebrity does it as you are at them. all I’m saying is most of these people don’t get mad at men when they ask for a reasonable raise. it’s an unrealistic and hypocritical standard to set.
Completely agree.
Indeed, it's also not a secret that women in media and entertainment get LESS money than men
Honestly I wasn’t there at all when all of this was going down, but I assume it wouldn’t have been as bad if it was just the initial asking for more money when their podcast took off, but it was because of the constant adding on later that left a bad taste in people’s mouths
Did they pay him that in his first years ot did he work hard for it
Like who should be keeping the money the podcast was taking in?
Otherwise we'd all be billionaires.

she explains stuff so well!
Couldn't agree more. We're owed compensation
Yes I think it was aimed at dudes really. It was like maxim magazine but in podcast form.
Same!!
no females are watching this podcast seriously
Call Her Daddy always rubbed me wrong content wise, it always seemed veiled in misogyny and they always talked from a place of the superior “hot girl”. Just was cringe to listen to as a woman.
very glad someone else thinks this
It’s like sorority girls that never grew up. Ugh and her intro makes me cringe!
Not only that but considering the things that have come out about Alex about making jokes about sa, animal abuse, and so much other things lately makes everything so much worse! The show has always rubbed the wrong way, and overall it seemed like a mess.
I always felt like they were trying too hard.
I listened to one episode once and I felt the same, but everyone always raved about the podcast. I’m so glad I’m not the only one
My ex LOVED Call Her Daddy. He said they were “really interesting, really understood men AND women, and I could probably learn some things from it!”
I never really listened to it, but his reasons for liking it felt like red flags anyway lol
Oddly enough, I heard of CHD from men first
Feminism, for him
I would say you're correct... I only ever heard men talk about this podcast none of my girlfriends listened to it ... and my girls are perverse 😄😊

Truly I only heard of CHD when shit went down and was too lazy to find out so 🙌🏻
It’s a really good podcast I used to listen to it a lot before the pandemic.
BRO FR!!!
That’s not surprising at allllll
Well... they were still these 2 white women...
For some kind of reason wypipol content gets big and profitable.
Do you remember which of the two it was, I don’t think I’ve ever seen that clip!
Well… have you heard what black men discuss sex with white women to be like? Like, with no restraints or caution? I’m pretty sure you think that the most vile fetishization, you probably haven’t.
@@alexman378 That doesn't matter, two wrongs don't make a right. Neither are okay.
@@Tinydancer0502 Yes! Also if Alex had a ghost writer that frees her of the internalized misogyny and male gaze of earlier episodes.

Would you mind sharing some? I listen to tons of podcasts, and haven’t been able to find many that I like in that space.
@@allyg2009 i love Laid Bare, it's black women from the UK talking about their sex lives and sex positivity. Cocktales is kind of the same. Whoreible Decisions is one of the first sex podcast there is and it used to be great, i would advise you to listen to the episodes from a few years ago.

They've done some scummy shit with Jenna marbles. I only know of a video they uploaded with a thumbnail of Jenna missing another woman and there was a blog post she made when barstool wanted to claim ownership over a viral video she made.

but you never mentioned sofia’s side at allllll. she hasn’t talked about it a lot but she has talked about it in two episodes of her podcast. i think her points were valid tbh, she WROTE the show and they literally read from scripts because alex isn’t super witty or funny - which is apparent in the new episodes of chd. they didn’t do live shows or tour because alex refused and needed a script before going to the studio to film the podcast. also the sofia smear merch that barstool sports sold and alex promoted was pretty gross too. profiting from a friendship breakup and bullying the other person is just gross to me.
both girls kinda rub me the wrong way but i think to be fair alex and barstool sports really drove down this narrative of sofia being lazy and ruthless and under the control of her bf when that really isn’t the full story.
in the new chd you can tell alex is no comedian and is more of a guys-girl. while sofia in her podcast is funny but it definitely drags without alex’s editing. they were a super entertaining duo but i neither work perfectly on their own.
also i don’t think sofia is a great person, but i think her side deserves to be heard too when she has mentioned it in more than and ig story and objectively both girls were being exploited by dave portnoy scum of the earth.

YESSS i just said the same thing 😂
I think this is a massive generalisation. Sofia’s new podcast is nowhere near the quality of call her daddy despite her supposedly being the talent

Yeah I don’t think was as balanced as it could have been
I stopped listening pretty soon after Alex started making episodes without Sofia. I just didn’t find it anywhere as entertaining as I used to, & it also really bothered me how much she talked over her guests
"back home to Utah"
Oh.
Oh my.
The plausible layers that that reveals. Fascinating.

I kinda wish you went into more detail about what happens when an “influencer” becomes more famous than the platform that built them. that’s what really interests me about CHD. They out grew barstool but were still contracted with them.
Didn't that also happen to Grace Helbig?
I would 100% watch a video about that.
Its a shame Grace is in the place she is now, she was probably making a ton of money for the company she was signed with, but since there wasn't as much knowledge about the process and how much can be made by being an "influencer"/online personality, I feel as though her situation was majorly swept under the rug and no one talks about it anymore since it did happen quite a long time ago (in terms of youtube time)
Im not saying Grace's choice in signing the bad contract was entirely on her, I think it was just such new territory that neither she nor the company could have imagined how much money youtube could bring in when the contract was signed and Grace agreed to it
@@morgzzzzzzzz i think she is where she wants to be and is doing okay. i don't interact with her content as much as i used to either, but she and Mamrie opened a beautiful airbnb / photo destination home in FL; she was one of the YT who got a book published in 2014 (and a second one in 2016); she does various comedy work and pods; was doing auditions a fair bit back then too (i recall seeing her in a Lowe's ad on tv); etc. seems like she bounced back from the very unfair and restrictive contract issue. but i admired her for speaking up about it to warn others because plenty of YT folks were being sought out by companies like that and talent agencies.
@@morgzzzzzzzz also you're very eloquent while intoxicated! Colour me impressed! I usually just dissolve into giggles at that point
Love you and your channel so much - but Sofia absolutely did address it. She has 2 (if not more) podcasts talking about it. You should listen to it. It definitely sheds a lot of light on her place in the matter. She didn’t say anything for a bit because she was worried about legality.
She has podcasts where she pretty much refutes NOTHING that Dave or Alex ever said. Sofias only claim was that Alex had a “ghost writer”. She is just as slimy.
Needed to hear this message today! So thank you for the reminder! 💗🙏🏻
Sofia tells her side of the story on the first episode of her podcast. Definitely worth checking out!
i think a critical piece of context is how vehemently anti-union dave portnoy is. his company has gotten into trouble for violating labor laws related to unionizing, not to mention how truly terrible contracts at barstool are (they include clauses that you can't sue the company for sexual harassment or workplace issues because it's a "creative space" and you're going to hear offensive things). putting negotiating in bad faith on sofia is a problem because portnoy treats his employees and contracts like dirt. wanting to get out from the barstool contract probably also had a lot to do with barstool being a sexist cesspool. him going into their feed was an anti-organizing tactic to intimidate them.
Yeah he is the CEO of course he would be
I had never seen/heard the podcast when they were doing it together and only saw an episode when Alex interviewed Miley Cyrus and it was soo uncomfy and cringe (100% on the part of Alex) to then learn she had this massive following was so strange to me. I really don't say this often but Alex gives major pick me vibes.
Omg! I’d never listened to call her daddy, but I’d heard of it a bunch, but I never knew it was such a dramatic end! Love seeing this, thanks for catching me up Hannah!

I’m living for these midnight uploads!! Gives me something to watch while I do my homework 🥰🥰🥰
Some points I believe are important:
- The fact that after a year it was sold for 60mil, shows the true potential of the show and that sofia was incredibly correct about that
- alex and barstool created merch for canceling suitman
- alex still uses and profits out of staff that sofia said and done such as unwell hoodies.

100% agree!
I was thinking the same thing while watching. Seemed like she was more on Alex's side
Not a hate comment, but what sorts of things did she say to defend herself?
That being said, I heard Alex has been a no bueno person lmao

Honestly, I love Sofia. I wish Alex and Sofia could have worked this out.
Tbh i like Sofia’s podcast more than Call Her Daddy at this point.

All the catch phrases from call her daddy were created by Sofia. While Alex was editing, Sofia was creating most of the jokes, discussion topics, and contacting guests.
Sofia’s ex bf claimed he ghostwrote for her too
I’m a little surprised you didn’t mention Sofia’s first episode on her podcast, multiple times you said she didn’t mention the issue again, but she mentioned it there.
Sofia actually did react and Give her side of the story in her own podcast
Alex just dated athletes 🤷🏼♀️

If you go to the first episode of Sofia’s podcast she does talk about it and what she said was really interested and changed my perspective
Never listened to a single episode of this podcast but best believe I’m watching every second of Hannah‘s video on it lmaoooo
You don’t have to give details but of course she’s going to be mad… likee duh
Plus if I’m not mistaken (please correct me if I am wrong) but didn’t Sophia WRITE the show and Alex EDITED the show? So how is it justified or fair that the editor gets a raise but not the writer… writing can take just as many hours, you have to think of how to write as 2 different people, time it out, be interesting and grabbing.
I’m trying to have sympathy for Alex but I at his point I still think she’s a big sell out. I can’t take her crap seriously, especially not since she started hosting interviews with people like Jamie-Lynn… which really makes me wonder how you praise her interview skills when like… wtf lol
38:00 & 44:00 min - but she did give her side? On her own podcast… you kept saying that she never shared her side but that’s just wrong lol she literally goes through it and then addresses Alex directly
Also since when is being friends for 4 years a short amount of time?? Show me two high schoolers or adults that can stay friends for 4 years lol in todays climates
Sofia has definitely given her side of the story in one of her first podcast episodes - super interesting listening

I'm so with you on the salary thing! It's crazy that we've normalized CEOs earning millions off the backs of people who are doing the actual work, and then turn on people for asking for what they're worth. That's just the rich turning the rest of us against each other!
honestly i love sofia’s new podcast. she’s definitely changed and grown a lot and alex did her so unbelievably dirty.
SISTER. I recently discovered you and my life is CHANGED!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 You are such a blessing and breath of fresh air. Thank you! ♥️😘🙏🏼
I just went to bed but here we are! I never heard of CHD until the drama broke so this video is really helpful. I love your deepdives!
i love when you look into the camera while you're talking, it's so much more engaging to watch!
The way you make me interested and care about content I’ve never cared about before in my life
CHD was that individualistic feminism where it's everybody for themselves and boy did Alex practice what she preached.
I’m so ready for this. Hope you’re doing well and thank you for the video ❤️
I love that you upload at like 1 in the morning because I don’t sleep 😂❤️
I think it’s also important to note that people call Sofia’s negotiations “shady” but Alex did get a $60 million contract eventually. Obvs not a completely direct result from the negotiations but nonetheless none of that would have happened without Sofia and that really sucks for her. I’m not like a “fan” of either, just an observer. I think a great pod is Forbidden Fruits with Julia Fox, better interview style.
