That was a great explanation, to ride like you have no chain! About a month ago I was riding in a remote location and completely destroyed my; chain, derailleur and bent my cassette, a big-long rock went into my rear wheel spokes, behind my derailleur. I zip tied my chain to the bike. I had to walk my bike back. On the downhill parts I just had to not get on the brakes in places I normally would. Then places I would have had to pedal I didn't. My adrenaline was pumping and I had to be super focused and efficient but the feeling of riding with no chain was weird. I never thought to purposely ride like that. I'm definitely going to remember to ride like that from now on.👍 #ridelikeremy
This is amazing! I'm a huge fan of both of you. Mike might be one of the single biggest skiing influences I have had. Dude just keeps going. Miss the Salomon Freeski TV with him
NO WAY, I thought it was Jesse melamed but it was one of my favorite skiers besides candid thovex. Thats great remy, I wanna see you post a ski video this winter, that would be sick!
What a dream it would be be learn yo ride with Remy love watching this man and the way he takes these trails on amazing hopefully one day I'll get yo ride with you Remy
Yeah that seems just perfect for me!! Long trail with up and downs plus not as extreme as others we can see on remys videos! 😂 Still probably a challenge for me but would love to try it!!! 😍
Cool. I did my first Mountain Bike race in Whistler around 1987....Funny I got into mtb to get in shape for ice hockey and skiing....Have not stopped since. Well the ice hockey part...just a div 1 hockey beer league guy...ha ha... I think I am a year younger than Mike...Not always easy...when you get older but you have to keep going.... Skate...Climb....Ski...bike..Ice Hockey...Jagr is still a pro hockey player....So why not? Tony Hawk is still givnr.
@12:18 Sorry that my dog (Garbanzo H. Pupperoni, a famous Whistler trail dog) was in the middle of the trail ruining Mike's flow when you guys were riding by! My dog is used to my much slower riding.
Where I live (NorthEast USA), unless we go to a ski mountain we constantly have to climb between descents like you guys did in this video. Brutal 5-15 minute intense technical workouts to gain maybe 30 seconds of descent. Haha! We envy your extended gravity assist and amazing trails! 👍🏽
Watch your videos all the time dude and there so sick. Today's video was awesome and got bonus coaching tips and got to see 2 living legends! Can't ask for anymore than that!! I find myself looking for the "remi line " every time am out on the bike now!! Hope to see you in Scotland some time would be awesome to share a trail with you!! Cheers for the uploads bro 🤘🏴
Correction the first twin tip ski was not the salomon 1080 it was actually developed by Jason Leventhal who created Line skis. He was the first person to come up with the "ski-board" which was basically a tiny snowboard for each foot(ski blades). From that he created the first twin tip ski etc. So salomon was not the first, it was big papi J Lev. He has a new company called J Skis and they make great skis and I've had the pleasure of owning a couple pairs. Anyways cool video tho!!
Sorry, this is not true. Line was making ski boards when the first Teneighties were on our feet. Kris Ostness was still on K2 at that time. The Ostness Dragon came out the following season. If you want to get technical... the first known twin tip ski came out in 1953. Several different versions of twin tips came an went during the following decades before k2 released the Poacher in 1996. I refer to the Teneighty as the first high-performance twin tip ski because it was the first one that skied well and that you could land big jumps on.
Excellente piste!! Super flow! Faudrait vraiment que je fasse ride là bas moi 😅 c'est trop beau! D'ailleurs ce sentier est classé à quel niveau de difficulté 🤔?
Remi, another great video on an awesome trail and some absolutely perfect advice on riding there in the middle - I'm not the fastest, but always am amazed when riding with others how many don't look far enough ahead and use the terrain for speed, I'll be feehweeling and people are pedaling. Curious if that was just straight up Business Time or what the loop was to get there? Building up a list of trails and loops for when I visit Whistler and this one definitely looks so fun.
Hey thanks for the feedback. We rode the fire road up. The entrail was the entire Duncan's (it s business time) minus some cut I did on the uphill. (About 3min)
What is your opinion on gearbox bikes? You talked about putting the chain in the middle of the cassette. Theoretically, with a gearbox, you can instantly shift. Suspension performance in the rear is supposedly better.
You we're just trying to hard to keep in front. Slow him down to Your speed . Ride like normal. . The guest is just a friend . Not a super star. You both rock.
Should I do a ski video with Mike Douglas?
Absolutly! This will get an awesome video. :)
Attach some skis to your mountain bike!
yes
For sure
YEs Yes

Two legends of my two favourite sports - love it. Looking forward to the ski collab!
Hey. It’s Will.

YES! Mike and Remy! Two of my all time favorites in one video!
This video makes me feel that life is short♥️ Enjoy the time you got 🤗
I've met Mike a few times in Evolution and he's the nicest most humble guy.... Nice one Remy. :)
Thats why he has Jesse's old bike! Thanks for the little back story remy!
NO WAY, I thought it was Jesse melamed but it was one of my favorite skiers besides candid thovex. Thats great remy, I wanna see you post a ski video this winter, that would be sick!

That was some top class coaching right there, the whole "imagine you're going down without a chain" blew my mind
Mike must have a 26 tooth chainring or something😂
Damn! That is one BEAUTIFUL looking trail! 😍😍😍
Yeah that seems just perfect for me!! Long trail with up and downs plus not as extreme as others we can see on remys videos! 😂 Still probably a challenge for me but would love to try it!!! 😍
Your videos are really entertaining even if you are doing quite easy things, it's really nice! Thanks for your work! :)
Thank you! I just saw Mike today at the store!
@11:15 point to be noted💯
Thanks for telling us that🤗
You’re welcome 😊

@@mikedouglas_ Looking forward to the video of you taking Remy ski touring this winter. Hopefully I'll see you out then too.
this video has become very good to roll into the woods
Epic combo. Be sure to do a winter version too!

Compared to most normal humans, Mike is actually bloody fast on a bike too 🔥
Il also looks bloody young!
@@remymetailler He* 🤣🤣🤣
Really cool video! I especially enjoyed seeing how the two riders rode the trail differently and how lines were chosen. Remy def likes boulders, lol!
Great ride guy's! Looks like a great trail!!!
Now this is a collab!
Really cool trail. Be cool if you put this type of longer trial in every once awhile. It’s slower but you get a real sense of the terrain.
Mike D is the man!
That looks like a good trail for me! I'm almost his age -49. So I ride mellow too...LOL.
Awesome trail ridding guyz. Good ride wish I had those trails in Florida. Lol

Imagining you have no chain is really good advice, thank you!
LEGAND!!!!!!
SO rad!!!
So weird to hear the classic "Mike powderski voice" in a mtb video in whistler. Love it though
Now that is proper All Mountain Biking
Excellente piste!! Super flow! Faudrait vraiment que je fasse ride là bas moi 😅 c'est trop beau! D'ailleurs ce sentier est classé à quel niveau de difficulté 🤔?
When my two worlds collide😍😍😍😍😍
So many lines!
Just watched Mike's new Solomon show!
What's the over/under when Mike gets an eMTB??
Remy you should totally do an EWS next year that would be so sick!
I really don't like the sprints and struggle to hang on to the bars for a long run. Even short actually.
@@remymetailler I bet you would do amazing but thats up to you!

Glad to help
Rocky mountain has epic bikes

I think if the big brand are not pushing it it s because it s not good enough.
@@remymetailler Not curious to give it a try?
@@polystyrene_gangster I will try out of curiosity
