Did you know as a Filipino working here for 4 years, I find Vietnam like HOme. I love Vietnamese people too they are so kind and helpful
That’s the ASEAN personality bro, I feel the same way about Filipinos.
Love how the old guy knew he could practice some English with you. Love that when travelling Asia. People just interested in having a chat
I missed HCMC. The place, the food and its people.
Awesome vlog ❤❤ love ho chi Minh City Vietnam ❤️😍
Vietnamese are so kind and hospitable, I was there for 6 weeks and I met so many lovely people! 🇻🇳
I highly recommend you go back to that steamed bun place and get one of the big white buns. Those are stuffed with ground pork, Chinese sausage, and boiled egg. This savory treat is one of my all-time favorite foods. It was an idea stolen from the Chinese, but the VN just do it better! 😋 That green bun you got likely had a sweet bean-paste filling. This is a very traditional filling for VN desserts.
Keep up the videos. I can see you are trying very hard to get out of your comfort zone and I applaud you for that. I speak Vietnamese and I would find it challenging to do what you are doing solo. 😄 I've been to VN three times now and having a local tour guide is invaluable as they know where all the really great places to eat are. Those places reviewed in Google are typically catering to tourist and you end up getting only 50% of the authentic taste.
Thank you!!
blue cake for kids 😅😅😅
I’m really enjoying your Vietnam videos
That bao bun you had at 7:58 was mung bean filled, the purple one is taro and in my opinion, is superior. At 13:00 you had a bánh bò (the inside) and bánh tiêu (the outside), the bánh bò isn't birdness apparently, it was rice flour with yeast so you may taste a hint of sourness from it. And as always, love your vid, cheers
Thank you - cheers!
The food would be more appealing if they kept the food sanitary and area clean.
What you eat at 13:38 is banh tieu (the brown fried dough) and banh bo(the soft white dough) in the middle. It’s made of some rice flour, not bird nest. Both are normally eaten separately or alone by most Vietnamese people. People from the Mekong Delta usually eat both together like that. Bird nest is more expensive and usually not a street food material.
Thank you !
I was staying in District 4 for two weeks while staying in Saigon.
What an experience.
I wish I got more footage.
I felt like I could fall off face of the earth and nobody would ever find me
I love D4, its so good to find and explore hidden gems in food, i always love coming back to stay and explore D4, the thing you ate at 13:26 isnt birds nest, its actually called banh bo nuong or english translation honeycomb cake.. i had it the first time with that vietnamese doughnut you had when i wasthere last, i normally have it by itself but having it wirh the honeycomb cake takes it to another level.. there are some places they put durian in it too, speaking of durian i am not a big fan of it but i had it in sugarcane juice and absolutely loved it, its not for everyone but i had to try it. I think you'd enjoy sugarcane juice while in Vietnam just look for a vendor with the name "nuoc mia" you cant go wrong..
Greetings, great clips. “Bánh bao dứa nhân đậu xanh” was the green pandan dumpling with yellow mung bean paste center. The hot dog cheese stick is called “xúc-xích phô-mai que” (saucisse fromage stick). And, goodness no, you did not eat bird nest - exorbitantly unaffordable for most folks, ha! That white filling in the middle of the fried donut appeared to be “bánh bò” (cow cake), a sweet, coconut flavored chewy sponge cake made from rice flour, water, sugar, and yeast, with air bubbles forming a honeycomb-like texture, just like a cow’s stomach. Et voilà, bonne continuation avec vos vlogs...
You should try egg coffee , banh bao , xiu mai , com binh dan , banh mi , hu tieu , coconut milk coffee , bun bo Hue , xoi , banh cuon , nem nuong , pho , banh mi chao , ga u muoi , 😊
I’ve stayed at where you’ve stayed at whenever I go to vietnam. I love the rivergate residence! They have literally everything you need.
Btw there is a local street that sells seafood probably like 10 min walk from where you are!!
My family group stayed at rivergate over new year, pool area was closed on Mondays and pool furniture was part it's best. The Millennium opposite is much nicer when there 2 years ago. In October I'm in 56 icon so all next to each other. D4 is a great place
18:42 how long does it take to grill? 😂 It surely is fun but when you're hungry already oh men I can only imagine 😂
Green bean in the bao, honeycomb sponge cake with Asian donut(banh tieu). You can eat these seperately.
Rivergate is great place to stay...
A tip... put a translator on your phone as 95% of the resturants dont have menus in english on vinh khanh st... the food is amazing there. I also stop there as its only across bridge to d1.
This video really brought back my childhood memory, especially the banh bo insde the banh tieu
Motorcycles -they're the king of the roads
Definitely not birdsnest for 14,000. It’s basically a steamed sponge rice cake of Chinese origin. I love that stuff too growing up in Vietnam and the fried donut is extremely delicious yet simple. I’ve never had the combo like the way they serve it to you.
Very nice video so much to see! Nahhh, I'll grill at home 😂 sorry wasn't into that but that's just me.
I would have gone for a savoury pork bun with pork mince and egg!
The yellow stuff inside the green bun is mung bean paste , very common in Vietnam . You should try the minced pork and quail egg bun which is much better . The fried donut with a white sponge cake in the middle are called Banh Tieu ( the fried donut ) and Banh Bo ( the white sponge cake ) . They actually originated from China .
Saigon is definitely the most expensive for accommodation as far as I can see, I’m coming over after Thailand so arriving early January, really looking forward to it want to go Sapa,Da nang etc etc the food is amazing and that’s the main reason I’m going, just put your hand up as crossing and don’t bolt then you’re definitely getting hit, you’re channel is cool 👌 keep up the good work bro 😎
Vietnam is awesome! my 2nd home! can't wait to get back!
The green bun you ate call bao with mung bean filling...
Use a spoon the eat the rice off the plate. You can get more rice with a spoon than picking it with chopsticks.
Asians are very efficient, we use chopsticks to get the food from the shared plate, then scoop the rice from the small bowl directly into our mouth.
Love the steak dinner you had at the end of your day. That looked like some good meat!
He needs a local to take him around…
I will never go to a sit down place to eat as they smoke everywhere there but the street food is good.
If you wait for a green light to walk across the road, you probably have to wait all day for that in Vietnam... It's the traffic outlaws for sure...
Zane man ! Nice video. Thanks man
you should go to district 2 Thao Dien.. There are more foreigners there
You got a wrong bun lol. Get the white one with pork 😂❤
I guess that bun filling is made of condensed milk, egg yolk and sugar.
I am off to this district in August, (first time in vietnam) how the F am I meant to cross those roads lol.
❤
Nice 👍
Hey bro, go D5 for best food in Saigon. Should try!
With the amount of cycles going in every direction I would expect to see a traffic cop or accidents more??
If you only had three nights in Saigon where and what would you do?
It's mung bean inside the bun.
You are very spontaneous
hey bro would love to collaborate with you when im in hcm next week!
Ahh thanks but I’ll be in a different country by then

❤❤❤🥰🥰🥰
❤🎉🙏💖😃😃👍👍
You mentioned your Instagram in this video. I can’t find it. Is it possible for you to post it somewhere? Ty. 🙋♀️
dude that is not bird nest 😂. it’s call bánh bò and bánh tiêu. Both r made from flour. That is my childhood snack/desert . U can get them in the US . However, I think they r better in Vietnam.
It’s DIY 😂😂😂 even I guessed that 😊
Green Been
It's called mung bean in English . Green bean is the translation of the Vietnamese name dâu xanh .
Feel like India place it’s full of motorcycle
Great vlog ❤
Lots of motorcycle around that is scared
It's not Vinmart anymore?
Winmart and Vinmart, it's two completely different store
You’re a brave soul. Great video. What filming equipment are you using?
How do you not weigh 400 lbs😂...keep it up, great videos
Mung bean
Eat fried rice with spoon.
I think you find your favorite country in asia
May I suggest you to hook up with Max McFarlin. He will show you the best eateries in HCM. Save your appetite from the fried food.
have you had any stomach issues eating street food ?
Nope!
comment
No hate, duder, but I think you could learn so more Vietnamese out of respect for being a guest of the people. It would also make the channel more informative.
