    How do you control the input levels/dry signal for recording?

  • @-OverlordMusic-

    Do you know how to setup reamping in reaper? Input options don’t list all the eleven rack inputs (reamping etc.). I know there’s got to be a way to get it to work but haven’t found a tutorial anywhere. Thanks in advance!

      Reamping would be setup as a track OUTPUT in Reaper, since it is an INPUT to the Eleven Rack. You need to make sure Reaper is in ASIO mode and all the inputs and outputs for the Eleven Rack are enabled from the preference. Then set the input on the Eleven Rack to reamp. When you're reamping, you'll just use the main stereo outputs from the Eleven Rack as the track input for the processed signal.

    Look up Eleven Rack preset packages. There are some great free downloadable amp configurations. It's truly amazing.

    Is it possible to get the I/O template to set up Reaper for the Eleven Rack. I've endlessly tried to set up the I/O in Reaper. At one point I had it working both a dry signal and wet ReAmping signal, at two different times. Then it stopped. In setting up the Input and Outputs in Reaper I don't think I'm doing something correctly.
    Setting up the I/O in Reaper, Audio for channel mapping the inputs and outputs: it shows for the inputs: 1. Guitar In 2. Mic In. Outputs: 1. ReAmp L 2. ReAmp R. I tried to add new channels but it doesn't work. When in the recording page the individual tracks i/o for the outputs: only 1. ReampL/ReAmpR 1. ReAmp L 2. ReAmp R are options. I don't see where to adjust the inputs. In Pro Tools its set up like your template and its easily visible to adjust inputs for Guitar/Mic in or Eleven Rig: and for the outputs it has Main output L/R. Please help there isn't much information about this online or in the forums. Reaper's forum gives no explanation for this as well.

    I did the same thing you did, plus I use reaper as well. But I don't have the GUITAR option as the input on the track. I only have Eleven rack L and R or stereo. But no option to record a dry signal for re-amp later. Why is that? Plz help!

      Check your audio device settings make sure on your enable inputs "Guitar in" is listed first

    Can I use it just as an interface? I mean, If I want use something like a Tech 21 Fly Rig, for example, can I discard the signal chain and use it as an interface only?

    • @bennyboy70
      @bennyboy70 4 года назад +1

      Yes you can-just plug the usb directly into your computer(you can download the drivers from the Avid website) and select it as the input in your DAW.It is however, not Catalina compliant if you are using a Mac.

    What DAW are you using? My understanding is that recording the dry track and then reamping it is only available in ProTools.

    • @YourHomeRecording
      @YourHomeRecording  5 лет назад +1

      I used Reaper, it works fine. Any DAW that can see the different inputs and outputs from the interface will work.

      @@YourHomeRecording Thanks! I've had my Eleven Rack for about a year and a half and I love the sounds I'm getting out of it via rigs I downloaded, but my one frustration is that supposedly only ProTools can capture a wet and a dry signal together. I searched for a workaround and couldn't find anything, but if this works for you, I'm going to give it a try (I'm on Studio One Pro).

      @@YourHomeRecording OMG, it works! It is a simple, logical conclusion, once you know it, but I swear, the documentation says if you have PT it will automatically save a dry signal, but never says you can do it yourself. When I searched for a workaround for other DAWs, all I found was a guy who did it all hardwired, running cables to a separate DI box and back into Eleven Rack. Thanks for the education :-)

    How can I make it so when I'm recording the only sound coming through my headphone out on the eleven rack is the output of my DAW? When I have record monitoring on in reaper I get a weird doubling effect of the reaper output plus the eleven rack rig output. I want to be able to monitor my sound in reaper, as in if no track is armed and I play no sound will come through.

    • @Mikeyleewillis
      @Mikeyleewillis 4 года назад

      Don't use the record monitoring on the track in Reaper. You don't need it. Otherwise, you going to hear both the 11rack and what you are recording at the same time.

      If you are using Mac OS Catalina, this is most likely the problem. Avid has yet to update either the Eleven Rack or Pro Tools firmware to be compatible with Catalina, so the re-amping, recording, and using the 11R as an audio interface on its own won't work until Avid gets on the ball with this. This is what I found out, sadly, after trying to get it to work in Reaper or Tracktion, my two preferred DAWs. You'll have to run the output of the 11R into a separate audio interface to get it to work.

      @@theericbeaty anyone have this doubling problem using pro tools or a different DAW??? then this may work for you... if you connect a lead to the fx loop left output and put the other end into the line in left input ...place your fx loop at the end of the chain ....and then turn the mix up 100% in the fx loop and then turn down return all the way .. then turn send down all the way....have both white buttons on the back of fx loop and line inputs to out than in........then you arm a track in your daw and you should then hear your guitar...and then increase send if you need more volume...then save the preset...when you wanna jam or gig without your daw or pc just turn off fx loop and your good to go....that may work for your daw...but you won't be able to use your fx loop for a pedal etc....ive tried this in Bitwig studio 3 and it cut out the sound and then when I armed a track boom the sound comes on....hope this helps with your daw etc if you are still using the eleven rack...I hope I got all the instructions correct lol...cheers
