My lower serger keeps snapping

This thing reduces me to tears everytime. Thread it. It sews a line but all the tension is out. Then the lower looper somehow unhooks. 😢

A hook like a crochet hook works easier for pulling thread through from awkward spots. I hate trying to thread these things. Im ready to throw my machine out the window.
