For our household it’s spoons. I for some reason also feel like I have more forks than I ever bought but maybe it’s my lack of spoons?
Erik, check on that poor dehydrated Monstera plant in the background please 😂 If you water it and it doesn't look better, check on the roots. Repot if it's rootbounded, if it looks okay the soil might be hydrophobic, you need to bottom water it, set it in water for like 1-2 hours to let the soil rehydrate and act normal again. The plant with soak up the water nicely and it'll bounce back.

Colleen you're not stupid. Fear of sleep/losing conscious control is common, especially in those with ADHD. It is the most terrifying feeling to us. I tend to have to pass out through exhaustion now. I'm scared of not waking up too "what if this is my last sleep"

Laying down with your eyes closed is like putting the computer on screensaver with your video editing software still running but sleep is full shutdown. While sleeping our memories switch from short term to longterm, cells turnover, organs go in a lesser work mode, it gives a lot of things a break but the brain moving data around essentially, is what causes the weird dreaming it's like elevator music or a video intro while it does background work.
In my house we had a spoon disappearing issue.

all my life I called them tennis shoes from oklahoma.
On Erik's comment about the mismatched socks......I tried to buy my now 20 year old daughter socks when she was like 14 and all I could find at my local Walmart was mismatched socks. So I bought 2 packs so that she could mate them.
My girl Colleen is right with the shoes. I grew up in Texas and we used tennis shoes to refer to any shoes with laces!!! It’s a thing. I didn’t know till I was in my late 20’s that not everyone did that and that they were called different things.

Canadian here (Ontario). We have American cousins from Michigan who call their sport shoes “tennis shoes”. We call them “runners” or “running shoes”.
I love what my 95 year old grandfather calls them. He always called them his “Go fast boots”! . 😆

Family of five here and forks have been going missing for literal YEARS! My kids are 20, 15 and 12 and it STILL happens!
Spoons kept disappearing in my house when my kids were younger. Come to find out, my kids were throwing them away when cleaning up after themselves. I too had to buy several sets of spoons. Now that my kids are older, it’s not an issue anymore.
The fork situation is cracking me up! Funnily enough, recently my husband was commenting on how we don’t have enough forks. He bought us a new set of silverware and now we have a plethora of forks as well as spoons and knives! I’ve never purposefully thrown away silverware. This was so funny!
I have 20 spoons, 15 forks, 4 knifes. Also I am certain I didn’t buy them. The ones I bought are gone. The apartment was empty when I moved in. What is happening.

I am always missing forks too then I realized I would accidentally throw them out when I get take out and not realize it.

I AM DYING LAUGHING I JUST BOUGHT 2 BOXES OF FORKS YESTERDAY. I have 3 kids and I swear they get thrown away with paper plates lol. Eric had me laughing so hard about throwing out forks. Re: the missing forks. A few years ago, we started missing spoons. This was around the same time that our younger daughter (maybe 2 or 3 years old) was able to get her own yogurt cups out of the fridge to eat. We were trying to teach her to throw away the cup when she was finished, and it took us a few weeks to figure out that she was also throwing away the spoons. Now we're short 7 spoons, and we can't get replacements that match our flatware set. 😭

At my house the forks and spoons disappear and the plastic like cereal bowls disappear. I thought the ghost in our over 100 year old house was messing with me but hearing you and Erik discuss it makes me think that maybe I was just lucky before this house to not have forks and spoons disappear.
I call flavored sodas as “Soft Drinks”
Alcohol as “Hard drinks”
And sparking water as “soda”

That is so funny that you mentioned about losing forks. The same thing has happened in our house and I blamed my 24 year old daughter! as she seems to horde plates in her room!
Also, silverware. The most common utensil to disappear is Spoons! Either Erik is throwing out your forks or the children are using them to dig outside. Check around your yard.
I’m in Iowa and have always called them tennis shoes or tennies. As an adult I added “sneaks.”
Always pop, but now also use soda. I will never understand “Coke” cuz what if you want Sprite or root beer or Dr.Pepper??

Sleep is how your body heals from the stress of the day. Whether that be physical or mental, your heart gets to slowdown, your muscles get to repair, your stomach to fully digest, cortisol levels from stress get to balance out , it’s your brain and body’s way of preparing for a new day and getting a break from running as hard.
Sleep and food are probably my favorite parts of life haha 🤣 I love a great meal and a nice nap 😴 haha

The amount of times ive had to either eat ice cream with a fork... or pasta with a spoon. I think the knives just murder them and dispose of the body because the knives are always the last one standing.

When you clear the table and empty the left over food on your plate into the garbage, maybe you throw out the forks along with the trash. Wait yes Erik just admitted to doing it. I hope these weren’t the silver wedding utensils. Colleen, sleep removes toxins in your brain that build up while you were awake. I have a gravel driveway and in the summer my kids hang out the window and the crunchy sound makes them so relaxed!!

Regional differences question! Have either of you two ever seen or smelled a lilac bush/flower? I have no idea if they grow in California or Connecticut but they are in bloom in Wisconsin and they are such a pretty color and have the best scent. I feel like you both would love them!
Y’all should do a dialect quiz! Those regional sayings are so interesting snd I love when y’all talk about your similarities and differences from when you were kids.

After we had 3 kids under 3, i found out 5 years later my husband was using forks to fix his bike tyre tube in his own garage. The forks never came back to the kitchen. Grrrrr 🤬

Yes you do basically have to be lost somewhere to hear that crunchy gravel sound!!! Or like… pulling into a parking lot of some festivity like a petting zoo or pumpkin patch or fair.

We don't lose silverware in my household. The math folder was always blue for me. The red was always social studies/history, the green was science, the yellow would be English. Never had the orange folder and the purple would've been extra credit.
