I met a lot of people I in my life including presidents, actors, singers and athletes. I never met a nicer and more impressive person than Bobby Richardson. He is a genuine fine person. God is in him.

Imagine getting a bunting lesson from Mr. Mantle? Played against Mr. Small and this team, Hank, Mr. Jeff Grantz (great QB for USC), Mr. Earl Bass when Mr. Richardson was the Head Coach. They annihilated us. My payback, years later I got in the golf business and was good enough to turn professional. Mr. Small brought some friends to play the course where I was assistant pro, (Snee Farm in Mt. Pleasant, SC). Mr. Small did not remember me from the baseball tail whipping they (USC) put on us. He needed a 4th and I got invited to join them. A true gentleman. I played their best ball and they paid for the drinks afterwards. God bless and please RIP Mr. Small.

Mick was a great drag bunter, early in his career; Rizzuto taught him well.

Mickey is a real good teacher.
Wonder why he never fully realized a coaching career.

Poor guy was to involved with the bottle which eventually did him in. Mr. Mantle came along when the memorabilia business was starting up. His talent was with the shows and the pen about that time. Next to Babe Ruth, one of the most forged signatures of all time. Rumor mill had it he was buried with one are out of the casket with a pen in it. God please take care of one of the greatest to ever play the game.

Always loved watching and rooting for Bobby Richardson. He had been named MVP of the 60's WS but as fate would have it a bad luck bounce hit Tony Kubek in the throat, and the Cards rallied, Mazeroski hit the homer, and they gave it to him instead!

Correction: Pirates rallied . . Yanks played the Cards in '64

Bobby Richardson was named MVP of the 1960 World Series in which a bad hop ground ball hit Tony Kubek in the throat in the 8th inning of Game 7 and led to a 5 run uprising by the Pirates.

The 70s were a weird time. I read somewhere in the 40s and earlier, photographers would kneel down in the area of the on deck circle to take pictures
