Small tip for monsters high… if you look inside their legs that attach to their hips if it is a gold, black, a white band it’s from 2010-2011. If it’s plastic than it is not a first wave doll. Hopefully this helped!

Pro tip for anyone who has a frankie doll with yellow hair: use this shampoo called touch of blonde by the brand provoke I used it on my bonita femur and lagoona doll and immediately saw a difference in just one wash however you could just use any shampoo with the words "brightening" or "for blond tones" those work just fine too since they essentially just brighten blond hair

yup! this frankie is one of the first batches from the 2012 original favorites collection. the first batches use the old face while the later ones have the rounder eyes ;3

I remember going to the toy store in 2010 with my mom and seeing the set that comes with like a bunch of dolls, I asked for it for Christmas and she somehow got it even though we were really poor.. then her religious friend convinced her that monster high dolls are evil because they're themed after monsters and she threw them all in the trash after I had already gotten super attached to them. I was never able to obtain a single monster high doll again and had to watch my friends play with them... 😐
Beautiful restorations!! I got my first dolls during the initial wave and at the time they were a bit slow to move on the shelves in my area. With my first job at the time I had enough left over after bills & things to grab them 2 at a time so over the course of a month & a half I bought them that way - Frankie & Clawdeen, The 2 pack, and then Draculaura & Lagoona to finish off. I got extra lucky too in that literally the next week or so the wave 1s became impossible to find and during their run ever since they stayed popular in my area lol

I got my first Cleo Denile doll at a Toys ‘R Us at the mall, and that is the Monster Ball one. Her Tinsel is a nightmare but it looks SO amazing with her navy blue/denim hair and her outfit!!

You know you can use purple shampoo to lessen the yellowing in Frankie’s hair yeah? I did it for mine! It definitely lightened her hair a few times. I would just be cautious to not get the shampoo anywhere near the- Okay mid-typing this you put purple conditioner in her hair so nvm 💀

For me personally I think those Creeproductions only made it to select Walmarts. I remember days before they released, I had to travel across my city to a certain Walmart to find them. After I found them, I wanted to keep a lookout to see if the Walmart closest to my house will ever get them, but they never did. So I think it’s only certain Walmarts :/

Jay, idk how to tell you this but i think that Cleo is not a 2010 Cleo. She's a 2015 Cleo with 2010 Cleo's shoes. The 2010 has longer hair, her blouse has lace details, her arm wrap has hanging wraps, the phone is painted and the gold accesories are less of a bright gold and more dull. Maybe they gave her the 2010 shoes to trick people into buying her.
So what does one do with a monster high doll with curly hair? I recently got an basic Amineta Nightshade doll, her hair is a curled pretty tangled mess and i am 100% new to doll restoration.
for dolls with really curly hair it’s best to use cold water, hot water most likely will straighten it. also, when your washing the hair, try to keep recurling with your finger and make sure it dries curly. of course if that doesn’t work, there are a bunch of doll videos on how to curl dolls hair :)
