  • Why would you prefer using a Franklin Compact Planner instead of a Franklin Classic Planner? In this RUclips video I share some of the ways they differ and how those things might affect your planning. (When I was referring to the actual pages in my compact, they are the Original design!) Stay tuned for more videos as I continue to do Double Duty Daily Planning to gather even more information on Compact verses Classic planning.

    Good video Candi! And good points, especially about the practicality of lugging the Classic size around. It's a boat anchor ⚓🔱 and I got the forearms to prove it after nearly 2 decades.
    I did use the pocket size for 6 months. I found a Collins binder of that size to fit at a thrift shop. F/C didn't carry that size or storage binders either. Guess some sizes are merely transitional.

    I think I like them both! Buying just a few months of pages is a great idea.....then I can switch. We are building a new home so I am using a compact strictly for that purpose. I do have to take the calendar page out to write on it😊. I’ve never met a binder, I didn’t like 😉. I have an addiction 😊

    I have a vintage leather zippered Collins binder that I bought years ago at a thrift store. The Franklin Classic inserts fit in it perfectly. I only found that out this year. I have never been able to find Collins inserts since I bought it, so I think the previous owner donated it thinking he ( or she) would never be able to get inserts for it. I've been using it as a general binder notebook since I got it . Believe me when I say, if I carried this out with me I would develop back problems it's that heavy. I have a very small calendar planner about the size of a check book that I carry out with me

    Great video! I use the FC Compact binder with Personal Wide inserts (4.75" x 6.75"). The extra 1/2" up from Compact inserts makes a huge difference for me. However, I have used Classic/Half Letter several years ago. When I look at my old inserts to see if I would ever go back...I cringe. I just do not like the extra space...weird.

      The Personal Wide inserts for the compact size planner, is that something new, the last 5 years?

    • @candikcan1720
      @candikcan1720  3 года назад

      @@pt68picaso Those would be inserts or digitals from other companies. One thing that would concern me would be if your binder had a zipper closure. The inside room between the pages and the zipper is different on each binder depending on the design. I am NOT pushing Franklin planner pages; I have stepped outside the FP box recently. However, if the Personal Wide inserts are something that interest you, a little research might serve you well.

      @@candikcan1720 Are you asking me? If so, I make my own PW inserts on Microsoft Word or simply use notebook paper cut down to PW size.

    Hi, great video on the camparison of the binders. I'm transitioning from a personal Filofax back to my FP A5, wish I had known about the compact before. This is just a suggestion, you could slit the pages where the holes are so when you need to take them out you don't have to open and close the rings.

    No matter what size I frequently need to take out the page. But that's just a left-handed consequence.

      You do have to approach a lot of things differently! My brother-in-law is left handed...we see a little bit of how that works. Appreciate you!

    What is your Classic binder? I love the color! Personally, like you, I like both sizes for different reasons, but find the Classic to be a much better "work horse."
