      I hear you guys, I hear you 😅 that is definitely something I'll work on 👍 it makes sense to have a "how I edit my photos" kind of video since it is part of the photography process.

    Great images and I can relate to the DJI button press issues- I had the same issue. Good to see some Xperia 1V output.

      Thanks 👍 and glad I wasn't the only one with the issue on the DJI Osmo lol drove me insane the first time I used it haha. The thing is it's either GoPro and it's overheating issues or the quirks of the Osmo 😅.

    If I prefer iOS, do you think I should still get Xperia 1 V for photo if I will get iPhone 15 as pocket camera? One for photo and one for video? Or just get a dedicated camera? I do decided to get Sony A7RV but seeing this phone photography make me wonder my previous phones plan. If I want to pair an ultrawide lens with expectation of a bit of crop to use as everyday lens to the A7RV 723g with Tamron 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 1155g, should I get Loawa 10-18mm F4.5-5.6 manual lens 496g, Sony 12-24mm F4 565g or Sigma 14-24mm F2.8 795g?

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hey I would probably stick with one phone tbh as having 2 phones might be a bit impractical. If you like iOS I'd stick with the iPhone and use the A7RV as your main shooter.

    Nice video! I really like the way you describe how you see objects and think how you should take photos. For the ND filter, may you give me a name? I will have a trip next 2 week, so I am really appreciated that I know the name, buy it and prepare for my trip.

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  8 месяцев назад +2

      It really depends on what you intend on shooting tbh, i use 2 types of ND filters, again depending on the scenario I'll use one rather than the other. I'll be making a filter / accessories for Xperia video soon, but for now I'd say you can't go wrong with a K&F ND filter, just don't use really "cheapo" ones off eBay, the old adage still stands... You get what you pay for 😉

    Absolute rubbish update policy along with a high price stops me from considering any Xperia phone. Sony need to sort these two things out...

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  7 месяцев назад

      I do agree with the fact 2 years of updates is a bit off compared to other brands out there, although personally doesn't affect me as I change devices every year, but I can see your point for someone wanting to have an Xperia for longer than that 👍

    Great video, already googled the ND filter😊 Do you prefer portrait photos over landscape or is more that the subject dictates?

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks 👍 there will be a video about filter mount, filters and accessories down the line in the not too distant future. And in regards to portrait Vs landscape it really is all down to how I'm framing the shot at the time, don't have a favourite if that makes sense. I'll even sometimes take a portrait but in the end will crop it and end up with a landscape 😅

    Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't have bought Xperia Pro-I and waited for 1V. I can't get good shots 😂😂

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  8 месяцев назад

      I have said it countless times, it's not what you have but how you use it 😉 I've never had a Pro-I but I'm pretty sure you should be able to get similar results. The secret is to be able to visualise the shot before you even get whatever camera you intend on using, that's half the battle won, then knowing the tools you are using is the other half of it, knowing which settings to use and when. I have made an hour long video about what settings do and when to use them, it was for the Xperia 1V but 90% of it will apply to the Pro-I.
      Practice, makes it better ! The more you try the better you get at it. Keep on trying different things and you'll soon be taking banging shots 👍

      No need to apologise, this channel is pretty new, only started it about a month ago, it's just something that I always tell people when they think what they have is the barrier to getting the result they want. As I said practice is what makes you better, just like everything else in life :) keep at it and I'm sure you'll get awesome results with the Pro-I , I do hear it's an awesome phone when it comes to cameras too 😊

    Brother does the 85mm on Xperia the same 85 mm on DSLR camera ❤️🤔 and you please have a little compare between both 🙏 if you have dslr camera

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  8 месяцев назад +1

      When a focal length is given it's always relative to a full frame equivalent due to size difference same as you'd get for a mft / apsc.
      Comparing DSLR Vs phone is not something I'm looking at doing, because the way I see it both mediums have their place side by side and both have their use case. The point of the channel is to show that mobile phones have come a long way and it is possible to get results most think is not doable unless you get a mirrorless camera 👍

    Some great photos wow.
    Watched it and wow you can take some great photos!
    Why use the mobile and not an actual camera especially using filters.
    The price of the phone is high enough still.
    I understand in a way you're more stealthy with the phone and can take candid pics but you could get a large potato, carve it and put a camera in it so they don't pose for the potato camera.
    Like someone else said, editing tutorial would be really good to watch at some point.

    • @UpsideLens
      @UpsideLens  8 месяцев назад +2

      Hey thanks for the feedback, and since A LOT of people have mentioned making a "how do I edit my photos" video I shall be working on one, makes sense 👍
      Now to answer your question about why not use a DSLR / mirrorless instead, especially if I use a filter... That's a very common statement I see on Reddit also, well you asked for it here's my answer, and there's no short answer to it lol:
      1/ 12.65 trillions of RUclips channels cover that, why would I even try or want to compete 😅
      2/ more seriously, I've had soooo many "proper" cameras in the past, and yes I can take an awesome photo with one, but to me, and from this point onwards that is my point of view only and my thoughts only, I don't get that sense of achievement anymore, I'll compose, set my shutter speed and baaam done, full frames are so good nowadays it's just almost impossible to mess a photo haha. On a mobile phone I find taking an awesome shot way more rewarding because it is actually harder to get it "perfect" ! So many variables that you have to account for when using tiny sensors, and so many laws of physics you have to fight against haha but once you get that shot you're like "maaaaan , I took this with a phone !!!! " And that reason alone has revived the photo enthusiast in me ! Yes you can take much better photos with a mirrorless camera but I think I have now proven that you can also take epic photos with a mobile phone too !
      3/ the cost of it all, now yes the Xperia 1V is not a cheap phone (arguably you can find it on eBay in pristine condition for £500/£600...) But as a previous DSLR user and photo enthusiast myself the real cost of photography is not the "camera itself"... It's the glass !! And when you buy such a camera you will not just have 1 lens ! You'll end up wanting a versatile 18-50mm, you'll want a prime 35mm, then you'll want a prime nifty fifty, but then what about those long reach shots ? You'll want a decent zoom lens too... But now it all starts adding up... Glass ain't cheap ! You end up spending 4 or 5 times as much on lenses than you do on the actual camera, and the worst thing is, it's really addictive, you're never happy with the lenses you have haha. Then you'll need filters, and because you spent thousands on those ultra sharp lenses you don't want to use cheap filters so you end up buying expensive PRO grade filters, ring adapters.... And then where do you store all that gear ? Need a proper back pack, and proper ones tend to cost a fair bit too.... So now your Xperia 1V seems a bit of a bargain VS all that gear doesn't it ?
      3/ which leads us to, having to carry all that gear with you on location ! For a pro photographer that is of course fine, but for average Joe and his wife and kids taking a day trip that's definitely not an option ! Joe loves photography, Joe used to spend thousands on photo equipment because it was his hobby but life happens, Joe has more important priorities now (understandably) but Joe still loves photography... Why can't Joe just buy an Xperia 1V and a couple of filters and not be happy with it if he wants to reconnect with his hobby ?
      4/it is much quicker and much less fiddly to take photos on a mobile phone... Having to change lenses on the go takes time, makes you sweat if you're at the beach or if it's windy or pouring it down with rain as you don't want to soil your sensor... Not a problem with a mobile phone !
      5/ it's the camera that is ALWAYS with you. I mean after all, we carry our phones with us 99.9% of the time don't we ?
      be careful what you ask for, warned you it wasn't going to be a short answer 😂
      Having said all that of course a mirrorless camera will get you better results, that's a given, but all in all, a lot of people nowadays want to be able to take good photos without the hassle of buying/carrying a big camera all the time. I hope it all makes sense, it does to me anyway 😉

    • @IONHowTo
      @IONHowTo 8 месяцев назад

      @@UpsideLens completely agree with the camera that's always with you and being able to say you did that on a phone.
      I would still take an actual camera if the purpose of the walk or trip is to take pictures.
      50mm is all anyone needs I believe.
      It's still interesting to watch how you take pictures in general about how you see opportunities and how you avoid taking the usual picture that tourists usually do.
      Couldn't care less about the idea of limiting yourself to a phone. Especially when you start using filters on it.
      It's not the phone or camera that decides what will be in the frame.
      I say use a camera too so you can have more material to work with later.
      Don't worry about big channels, they are just selling gear.
      For starters, I didn't see you with the usual lights. You're easy to watch without crazy zooms.
      Looking forward to some new videos!
