- Honestly an incredible campaign. Seriously enjoyed seeing the Great War side of the story, and the transformation of the characters. The final battles were great, who knew that Polish cavalry played a vital role in stopping giant robots? I hope you all enjoyed, this was a great ride.

I like how Gunther sleeps with his full military uniform and even the helmet on.
Professionals have Standarts.
So, I actually gave some thought to it, and if you look, there is physically no way he can remove his coat without removing his arm. The shoulder hole is too small, it won't fit around. So that means Gunter physically cannot remove or put on his coat, or anything underneath, without ruining it. Presumably, he hasn't removed that coat since he got the arm, and he's had the arm for years. Maybe his arm is removable, most prosthetics are, but considering he sleeps with it, and it doesn't seem like a prosthetic arm but rather a bionic one, I'm inclined to believe it's permanently installed.
As for the helmet, I have no idea. Although, when you have worn the same clothes for years without changing them, I'm pretty sure the helmet was the last of his discomforts when sleeping. Imagine not being to itch your back for years.

Actually, during WW1, The King of Belgium Albert the 1rst did send a group of Minerva armored cars aswell as 450 belgian soldiers to Russia to help the Imperial army against Germany.
When the revolution happened and the futur USSR made peace with Germany, the belgian soldiers didn't accept orders from revolutionaries as they were supposed to help the Imperial army and obey the Tsar's orders.
Blocked west, they decided to go back to Belgium eastward after destroying the Minerva's.
Using the railroad system, they reached Vladivostoc then sailed to arrived at San-Francisco on the 12 of june 1918.
The Unit was disbanded on the 18 of July 1918 after crossing the world.

Fuck, I love Jakub Roźalski's attention to detail with regards to clothes and such. Not only do all the factions look representative of their IRL counterparts (including the electrician style Polish jackets) but there's even stuff like in the title card art where the Polish hillman (gorol) has a traditional folk dress (white shirt, black hat loose sack-like trousers; this sort of stuff was worn in regions like Cieszyn or Zakopane well into the 20th century), whereby lumberjacks have more of a urban style (they'd quite probably get more stuff from cities, including old military uniforms, jeans, etc.). A lot of this might seem like stuff overseas authors might miss much more easily not being used to the heavy regionality of Central and Eastern Europe (edit) in which Jakub, being a Polish guy had grown up in.

Damn, that was amazing. And the tragedy of what happened to Wilhelm! His father was a good man, he educated him well - after the first battle the very first thing Wilhelm did was order aid for the wounded - but he got more and more desperate, and after Fenris got their hooks into him... he just. went. mad.
Something tells me Fenris didnt have to try very hard.
@@KillerOrca I, personally, think that Wilhelm are not on Fenris side but instead he could just not handle war, which made him as Theodore said, mad, then when he heard of this shadowy origination that supposedly controls things from the back then he went full on loopy. Killing his father because he thought only he could do it, and then tried to get revenge on the guy that smashed his face in in the process, my guess is if we ever see a continuation of this (and I hope we do) Wilhlem will be shouting at shadows when we see him.
Yea, Wilhelm has his heart in the right place
Don't forget it's also poor Willy understanding that millions of his subjects and troops died for absolutely nothing in a set up operation ran through and pushed by the key figures at home (banks, industrialists, reichstag) for a shadowy organisation - not once but at least twice already. Imagine the paranoia a traumatised mind such as Willy's goes through.
As insane as he is, you can understand why he went batshit crazy. Because no one else seems to care about the lives of their countrymen, I was actually rooting for Wilhelm at first, and I thought ‘Gunter I love you but he’s right.’ When he used the gas I wasn’t surprised, it’s exactly what happened in WWI anyhow, the French used tear gas to force the Germans out of their trenches so they could be gunned down, then the Germans responded by sending mustard gas at the French. I feel conflicted about Wilhelm, but in the early campaign I completely root for him. As someone once said “The greatest dishonor when defending your home, is to not do everything you can to protect it.”
The gun yeeted out of there like my father 4 years ago.

Since the game's history is a bit based on real life, i presume the war of 1905 is the Russo-Japan War. Fought over and in Manjukuo/Manchuria region. What then proceeded was a lot of protests in Russia which made the Tzar to create Duma: Russian parliament
So that may be the case, but the war of ‘05 was brought up in the context of trying to break into Nichola’s Factory.
Seeing as how most of the factory is ruins and how no one has tried to break into the factory recently (it’s implied to be considered impossible), it’s likely that the war of 05 was the attempt to take the factory by force that cost Anna and Janek their mother
@@MarionetteDuAuguste Are you sure about that? I think the war of 05 was brought up in the Rusviet campaign, and they talked about it in context of a close revolution. that would check up, since after the Russo-japanese war, there was a little revolution, as they call it, in the Russian Tzarate.....Although now that you say it, i dont remember what was the context of war of 1905...

Gunther is seriously one of the most satisfying characters I've seen in an RTS.
the fact the cavalry guy is the one shouting "For Glory!" has to be the most on-point thing I've ever seen. Cav troops are always the glory hounds.
Also the one thing I didn't really like is the fact you don't get a direct mission against Fenris. I felt like that was what it was leading up to then it ends. but, I suspect that will be the DLC/expansion. which Im totally game for.
You know, I just had a thought: I wonder what navies look like in this world? I mean Brunhilde is basically a walking A7V tank that thinks it a bloody Maus, would dreadnaughts still be real? not gonna lie, I'd love a mission where you're having to go anti-navy, or using battleships to blast the crap out of mechs.
imagine a walking battleship. it starts out in the water but as you push further inland it just follows using like 50 legs
I fear they don´t exactly have a personal army. They´re just a chain of puppets in the various nations that use those armies if they would ever need an army (Zubov). They likely don´t need a secret army since they can just get a single guy in the right place and expand their army that way..
In Scythe you use flying Dreadnoughts called Airships, check the art for the expansion called. "The Wind Gambit."
@@dr.cheeze5382 Sounds like the Cybran ships in Supreme commander 2
There was actually a book I read by Scott Westerfield called Leviathan, and man I REALLY wish someone would bring that series to life like this. Giant genetically engineered living airships, and battleships with kraken fighting arms are the best. Not to mention the mechs.
So is Prince Wilhelm like Pre-Hitler? Even though he's a prince, is a royalty free Hitler?
I mean... he wants to dissolve the Reichstag, seize all power and information, and establish an absolute dictatorship... only difference is he's a puppet here.
Sadly the real life Kaiser Wilhelm (whom he seems to be in every respect) was known to have a very fragile ego for various reasons, and is generally understood to have been too easily swayed by how others might view his actions, so this version of the man just had the Evil Illuminati and a more militarized world to develop in, leading him to snap much harder than the real version ever did.
That said, this version’s also kind of a massive prick, and the real version was only mildly antisocial at worst from what I’ve heard, so there’s that too.

I actually live in saxony, and I love the lore of Iron harvest. Especially because I think saxony is very underrated and too easily forgotten as most people think germany consisted only of prussia. But it was various german states even during the kaiserreich. Bavaria, saxony and prussia being the major ones. Having a game portrait saxony in this way is absolutely lovely and I'm looking forward to future projects and content regarding saxonia.
Some people in Poland remember we had two Saxonian elected kings.
There is even a saying "Za króla Sasa jedz, pij i popuszczaj pasa" or "during [the rule of] Saxon king eat, drink and have fun" - this was especially true for August III, as he improved our country economically quite significantly.

For those of you itching for a condensed history lesson: The Czechoslovak Legion was formed out of captured and deserting Austro-Hungarian soldiers of Czech and Slovak ethnicity on the Russian front of WW1. People often focus on the war on french ground because of the sheer brutality, but the grand scale of WW1 eastern front had Russia and Austria-Hungary straining to the breaking point almost on its own. Russia began its communist revolution and signed a separate peace after they had, in what can only be described as a moment of both pure brilliance and desperation, formed a brigade of soldiers who held no allegiance to literally anyone around them, who had no sovereign homeland, and answered to *nobody*. I will never find it not funny that after being christened as a combat formation, the legionnares immediately found themselves in a situation where going westwards would mean fighting the entire Central Powers, the country that they were being armed by suddenly withdrew all support, and because they were at least officially the Tsar's allies, the communists were convinced they should absolutely not trust these guys and that they should get them out of the way immediately.
So obviously, the glorious motherfuckers decided that if they weren't allowed to fight the Central Powers on the Eastern front, they should get to the western one. After all, if they beat Austria-Hungary bad enough, the big powers would let Czechoslovakia secede, right?
What followed was the wildest ride any czech or slovak was ever on. The highlights include:
*Saving a part of the bolshevik line instead of leaving because the germans attacked before they could get on the trains
*Stealing an armored train and driving it across the entirety of Russia.
*Capturing the Imperial Russian gold reserve and taking it halfway to Vladivostok.
*Winning a few battles with odds of 6:1, zero fucks given.
*Being declared enemies by the blosheviks halfway through their trip and being forced to subdue a force about a country larger then them, mostly by being really fucking intimidating.
*Taking control of half the Trans-Siberian Railway for shits and giggles, then using it to give White Russia a better fighting chance.
*Meeting the joint Japanese/US task force sent to rescue them in Vladivostok... as they were landing. While they already held the city.
*Delaying leaving Russia to support the Japan-led intervention
*Circumnavigating the goddamn globe
*Forming the most experienced post-Central Powers army by virtue of being the only people left who still had any will to fight at all
Seriously, read up on these guys. They were mental. It's incredible how much a group of barely forty thousand people achieved.
Armoured Trains for days!
Just spawn as an assult and use AT grenade and AT rocket/cannon (or whatever it's called again?) And just prone where most of its weapons wouldn't hurt you except if its artillery cannons XD

You absolutely need to look up the full story it is incredible. Just to give you the highlight reel the Bolsheviks refused them passage to Vladivostok unless they surrendered their weapons so the legions response was to steal an armoured train and fight their way East with it, progressing so well the Bolsheviks actually were afraid that they'd discovered where they'd stashed the Tsar and his family and decided to execute them immediately rather than hold a fake trail once they seized power. The legion learning this grabbed the entire imperial gold reserve and continued their journey toward Vladivostok, stopping to conduct a jailbreak along the way.
Oh and a US/Japanese force was sent to rescue them but by the time they reached Vladivostok and were ready to storm the port the legion had already taken control of the entire city

And they also took control over of all Baikal lake, destroying or taking over all Russian ships and destroying or damaging most of Russian harbors. They started with just one armed marketship.
I like that Gunther's wolves is called Tag and Natch basically means "Day and Night" which seems to fit them as how they look. I really like those videos of the game and I had added it to my wishlist on steam till I get a time to get it
Rimmy: the Saxonian mechs are the best.
That phrase is based in both fiction and real life
Pretty sure you don't want to break something on them.
"Weapons are useless!"
Wins
Just when you think everything could not get any better, Gunter happens.
As a Czech, I'm proud that even an Assie knows about the legion.
I also love the fact, that they brought the world from the board game into an RTS.
Laufbursche means something akin to "servant" or "butler". Its used for people who get ordered around for minor tasks constantly, like picking up the newspaper from downstairs or going to the bakery to get some bread and bring some milk from the convinience-store on the way back.
Laufbursche basically translates to "legman", "runner", or "errand boy." So basically Gunter agreed that he was a shit-kicker
Is it just me or is the attack of the dead man a really good story to be told.
19:11 - "We make a good team!"
Gunter: "I'm your Laufbursche."
Laufbursche = Errand-Boy
Rimmy:"Yeah that's a big ol nuke innit?"
*The robot from The Incredibles rises from the earth.*
Rimmy: "Wait... WHAT?"
The fucking omnidroid
As a german myself, I absolutely love how they handled germany in this game.
37:37 and thus formed the first internationale
This was such a satisfying end to the trilogy; Can't wait for the game to get more content for you to cover.
"If you click on people multiple times, they have different voice lines."
Achievement unlocked: Welcome to RTS games.
37:38 Fenris' weapon is distrust, revenge and distrust, distrust and revenge... Their 2 weapons are distrust, revenge and fear, that's 3 weapons...
Fenris is just the Spyish Inquisition at this point
Edit: mixed up quotes
At the final speech, I just imagine a random Rusviet soldier thinking "what the hell is this old man saying? Speak in Rusviet please."
I love to hear that story about czech legion from an Australian. I am from czech republic and most of the people here dont know about that, so thank you
Rimmy, the Czechoslovak Legions in Russia had actually quite hard effect on whole civil war there. It was their threat of their advance that led to execution on Romanov family. It was legions that captured admiral Kolchak, the leader of white movement and sold him to reds for free pass on Transsibir railroad. By the way the reason russians dind blow the train with legions to hell was, well, the train they choose to travel was by some freak of chance a train filled with russian imperial treasure, which they allegedly all returned to get ships to return home.
Out of all the characters of Iron Harvest, Gunter is my favorite
33:30 "YO JOE!" Oh wait, wrong franchise.
The details to this game make me so happy, the quality is not seen in most games let alone an rts. I need more of these in my life, rts for sure and quality content from rimmy.
I love the storylines in these vids alone. Thanks for showing the game, definitely want to try it out now.
the senator or who ever is the decorated german that looks the king
sounds really like the german in ro2. i love it
"Looks the king"???? Wut???
You mean the fella who got murdered? That's literally the emperor.
ending was brilliant
though i think it should've ended in a different way
after everyone cheers the camera moves to a fort on the east coast of Rusviet
a soldier is looking through a pair of binoculars
just then the ground starts shaking with the sound thousands of feet.
back at the palace of Tsar Nicholas a man runs up to the Tsar
saying that there was an offensive on the east coast
just as Tsar Nicholas asks who
a flag of a rising sun is planted in the middle of the base.
We don't need the weeb army appearing.
I have been waiting for this. Thanks for uploading it Rimmy
Your hype and knowlage is amazing to watch. I had an amazing time!
You know...having them speaking in their native tongue, reminds me of the Age Of series (Empire, Mythology, you know the ones) since idk if what they are saying is even Words or just Sims garbeltie-goo, eitherway, couldn't understand a fkn word of it, and having them speak their native tongue here just sends me on a nostalgia trip to that time when i used to play the hell of out that Series, good times.
I know at least that what the greeks (and the atlanteans in the expansion) speak in Age of Mythology is greek, wether the other factions speak their appropriate languages however I do not know.
That’s Star Wars game also had a special Addition with the clone wars and to can be purchased on steam
10:47 Background soldier- "We have their attention!"
Me, seeing Rimmy getting swarmed by enemy soldiers and mechs- "Oh really?! Ya think?"
6:44 “I serve my people however I can”
War crimes!
The war in 1905 was the Russo-Japanese war.
Would be a nice DLC ngl
@@iplaygames8090 Banzai charges with katana-wielding Japanese mechs, like something out of Red Alert :D
Seems to me that the war of 05 was the war on tesla’s factory
