    Who needs mascara with eyelashes like hers ❤️❤️❤️?

  • @sgnorris
    @sgnorris 5 лет назад +53

    Thrive is hands-down the best mascara I have ever tried. Just be aware that you do not let it dry in between coats if you choose to put on the second one. But for me it’s one coat and done… And no primer!

    I think that Thrive Mascara is absolutely hands down the best mascara I have ever used and I have tried a ton. I have extremely sensitive eyes and this one never bothers them. I actually think it comes off pretty easily. I also think from the video the Thrive side actually looks blacker and definitely more curled on you. I agree about only using one coat - adding another doesn't make that much of a difference. It's a bit pricier but I like the idea that the company gives back. Great review!

      If you're going to do 2, you've got to do it right away and not wait. Tubing mascara tends to be that way. Sometimes I just brush the tips of the lashes either before doing a full coat or after finishing. You get some extra length but without extra clumps. I do that with Tubing and regular mascara. It comes in handy.

      I agree. Hands down the best mascara. I have short, fine lashes. Just crappy lashes, but this mascara helps my lashes out so much. Makes me actually look like I have lashes. The best. Nothing compares. I recommend it to everyone.

      Agreed!! I have tried tons of mascaras and thrive is by far the best. No eye irritation and lashes look long and no smearing .. the eyelid waterproof primer is amazing!!!

    Wow! I am shocked at how popular this mascara is! I ordered a tube, tried it twice and returned it. I have fine short lashes and I found it clumped with no separation and the more I tried to work through it the worse it got and ended up on my eyelids. It’s the only mascara I have ever returned. For my old lashes, it just didn’t work. ☹️ I use Lancôme Lash Idole and it works very well for me but is expensive.

    Eye twitch fix from a nurse!!!!! Try a magnesium supplement once a day in the morning! Should help with tension headaches as well. Magnesium controls the regulation of electrical impulses in the muscles.

    I got some thrive mascara for Christmas. And I am in love with this mascara. I used great lash all of my life because I have natural ly long lashes. But now that faux lashes are in and I'm horrible with glue the thrive gave me the length I was looking for with out fake lashes or glue. Love it!!

    Mandy, your bare lashes are twice as long as mine with mascara..but..for me, Thrive mascara is fantastic for me..it doesn’t smudge even in the Texas sun....

  • @jringvw
    @jringvw 2 года назад +6

    I read this on Thrive’s website: “If you like to apply more than one coat, we recommend applying the second coat immediately after while the formula is still wet. Doing this will ensure that you don’t experience any clumping or flaking and your mascara wand will be able to effortlessly comb through your lashes to create definition. If your mascara has started to dry before applying a second coat, this step becomes a bit more difficult.”
    Maybe why it’s clumping some with 2nd coat? Hope your eye has stopped twitching!🙂

    I think the Thrive side looks better. It looks even better with the primer; makes your lashes look longer. I have been using the Thrive mascara for about two weeks now and am really impressed. It may be my new favorite mascara. I have short lashes and it does a great job. As for removal, I use organic coconut oil (Now Foods) and removal is a breeze.

    Call me contrary but I was ready to buy the Thrive until I saw you in the Bare Minerals. I think the Bare Minerals looks much more natural, not as spikey and 'spider-leggy' and chunky as the Thrive; and I just think it looks prettier. So I'm buying the Bare Minerals, lol. Thank you so much. :)

    I’ve used the Thrive mascara for 6 months now and have never had an issue removing it! It’s actually one of the reasons I love it so much, it removes so easy and mess free! I shower every night so I just let the warm water hit my face and it’s completely gone when I get out of the shower.

    I got a Thrive sample size from Ipsy and I'm in love with it. I wanted to let you know that I find it as the easiest mascara to take off WHEN I'm in the shower. I find that I have to let myself be in the shower for at least 5 minutes before I can take it off the easiest. I just use my fingers and pull it right off my eyelashes. I find it to be the consistency of peel-off nail polish from the 90s and it's so fun! The best part about the removal process is that I don't look like a raccoon when I get out of the shower and I don't have to rub my eyes to get it off...just simply and gently pull it right off my eyelashes.
    I do have to say that if I'm using a makeup remover wipe to get it off, then it's not as easy because of the peeling effect and it gets a little messy, but then again...the wipe is cold if I use it. Shower is the best removal method that I've tried.

    I have to say thrive is one of the best mascaras I’ve ever used. I love how easily it clumps off when washing face or in the shower. The other mascaras smear & leave me with ratcoon eyes but not this one Plus it doesn’t irritate & leaves a nice gloss look. Bcuz of this, thrive is worth the $$.

    I have used thrive mascara for the past 2 years everyday. Its the best mascara I've used and I love buying and trying makeup. I first heard about it on tatis channel and decided to try it because how long it made her lashes look and how easy it came off and it definitely comes off easy and with just warm water. I take mine off in the shower . With nothing to help it come off besides pulling at it with my fingers a little and it comes off in long strands. I personally Love it and keep using it because it's so easy to take off and looks great 😉

    I love the thrive mascara also. It never leaves me with black smudges under my eyes like the others seem to do. It also stays on when swimming but comes off easily when I cleanse my face. The only problem I have is that living in Australia makes it really pricey when you factor in the exchange rate & shipping. Would be great if we could purchase here! 😁

    I agree that the two coats of Thrive looks chunkier and the Bare Minerals looks much more natural. I only like the Thrive when it’s used as one coat. I saw the same thing with other RUclips videos for this mascara.

    Mandy, the eye twitching is most likely due to stress and lack of sleep. I didn’t notice it in the video but have the same problem once in a while and that’s what my doctors have said. I still don’t have a favorite mascara and I’m bummed because my lumi lash lift got cancelled today due to the 14 inches of snow we got in NC! Love you❤️!

    • @palladio7476
      @palladio7476 5 лет назад +4

      Lydia Kilby Eye twitching is also a symptom of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium strengthens nerve communication with the brain. Works for leg cramps that occur at night as well.

    • @lydiakilby3472
      @lydiakilby3472 5 лет назад +1

      Palladio 747 - that’s so true, thanks for reminding me of that. I take magnesium whenever I have cramps - it mostly happens in my feet and abdomen. What’s interesting is that I’ve never linked the eye twitching to the cramps! I need to pay attention to see if they occur at the same time- I’m almost certain that they do.

    • @ginnyburley9552

    Both of the mascaras looked very pretty on you. Personally I use the Thrive, mainly because it’s the only one I’ve found (other than Red Apple Cosmetics ) that doesn’t irritate my very sensitive eyes. It lengthens my lashes the best, although it does take me a minute to remove. I’m always on the hunt for less expensive vegan mascaras that lengthen & don’t clump or flake, but so far Thrive works the best for me. Loved your comparison. Also, fluttering can be caused from anxiety, low electrolytes or not enough sleep. My daughter & I get it often and even on other areas such as the face, thigh, fingers, etc. It’s so annoying; hope yours goes away soon Mandy 😘

    My favorite fiber mascara is KUSH. After trying so many mascara's I fell in love. Recently my girlfreind had me to try her Thrive. It looked nice, almost the same but I wasn't impressed enough to give up Kush. Like you said, that brush is so thin and it takes several applications, where Kush doesn't take but two at the most. Just for my friend I will try Thrive to give it a fair shot. Glad you made this video because you have introduced me to Bare Minerals. I will also check that one out. Thank you.

    OMG! I cracked up when I saw you separating your lashes with a barrette because that's what I used to use way back in the '60's to separate mine. For the past 20 or 30 years I have used a straight pin because it is much easier to get between the lashes (but don't poke your eye out!) I didn't care for the Thrive and gave it to my daughter. However I know several people who only use it on their bottom lashes because it doesn't smudge under the eyes. I have been looking for an HG mascara for a long time and feel I have tried most of them out there. I have not, however, tried the Bare Minerals and will go to Ulta tomorrow and get some of it. I used to love the Illegal Lengths by Maybelline (as did a lot of other people) and then they changed the formula of it and it stunk after that. I have never found a mascara I liked as well as the old formula of that.

I'm a big fan of their mascara, and do find that I need to hold a warm, wet washcloth against my lashes for 30 seconds to remove the mascara easily and without risk of damaging my lashes. The other mascara I'm loving is Hourglass Caution Extreme - it's really fabulous!

    I finally remembered to buy the Lashtopia Mascara and WOW! This is a great mascara. Big beautiful lashes and no flaking or smudging. I don't know why this never got on my radar to try. Maybe because I don't really care for the other Bare minerals mascara. But this mascara is a winner for me.

    I really liked the appearence of the Thrive. Bare Minerals looks nice but I prefer the other. For people with lashes that are hard to hold a curl it might be helpful. With Thrive you could do your lower lashes to which makes it less costly and packing easier. FYI I just read that Connie Britton, formerly of the show Nashville is a major lover of Beauty Counter product line !

    I got thrive yesterday and it just reminded me why I never buy mascara with plastic brussel. It hurts when applying it close to my roots and it's too wet for me and created spider lashes on me. And when I tried to separate it with a lash comb the tubes were coming off and it was dry.
    I'll probably keep it another week or two to see of I can find a better way to apply it or if it drys out some but so far I hate it and will probably be going back

  • @vjohnsonbarrett
    @vjohnsonbarrett 3 года назад

    The removal was an issue for me as well, until I figured out the method. I use Olay facial cleaning cloths, which foam up nicely for slip. Also, using a downward motion when washing makes the tubes slide right off. Now it's really quick and easy to remove. No pulling, no rubbing.

    hmm...I'd be tempted to try the thrive mascara, but I am in LOVE with Bare Minerals Lashtopia. I even like the Lash Domination on my lower lashes or if I go to crazy with the Lashtopia and make it too think on the ends, I use the Lash Domination to dial it back a little. Great video! I've missed you. I've not been in youtube much lately. Lots going on in my world. Hope you and yours are well and enjoying to a blessed Christmas season.

    The absolute BEST mascara I have ever worn, AND THERE HAVE BEEN MANY, is L’Oreal Voluminous Super Star mascara. It has a primer that volumizes and the mascara that lengthens. I pay $3.99 for this at a discount cosmetic store near me and I wouldn’t use anything else. Those expensive mascaras give me panda eyes by the end of the day.

    • @MandyDavisMUA
      @MandyDavisMUA  5 лет назад +2

      Oh I have heard really good things about that one. Loreal volumunious lash primer is my fave, so I need to check that one out! I heard it was another tubing mascara like the thrive, so that is also great for smudging. :)

    You were supposed todo an all day wearability test of bothThrive and BM. Do you think Thrive mascara is overpriced? I do!! I also hate it when you’re forced to buy two full size cans of Thrive in order to SAVE $$$ on shipping! The base price is $25 so the $35 minimum is just a few bucks more to get free shipping. It’s so obvious that Thrive is milking us for even more $$ than the price of product!! Did you break out at all when removing the Thrive mascara?? I surely did!! I’m gonna try it again in a few days to see if it happens again. If so, I definitely will be returning them. Also, why does Thrive say it’s a lash extension mascara? I kinda figured if it was, then you could leave it on overnight and build on it the next day or two. I was wrong. Right? Or do you think that could be done without drying or breaking your own lashes? Thank you for taking the time to do this comparison for us!!

    • @MandyDavisMUA
      @MandyDavisMUA  5 лет назад

      I didn't break out with it. It has the fibers in it, so it helps to extend the look of your lashes. I guess that is why they call it lash extension. I don't think it claims to have any lash growing properties to it like a growth serum for your lashes. So sorry you aren't loving it!

      Blanca Davila I have been using castor oil every night on my eyelashes and eyebrows for like 4 yrs now. IT DOES NOT WORK! In fact, my eyelashes/brows look worse...thinner. I do not know if its the oil or aging.

    • @Soapartisan875
      @Soapartisan875 4 года назад

      CMV Robison it is definitely aging .. I once had a thick fringe of lashes that have gotten sparse as I age I am 51 yrs old now but try jojoba it mimics the natural sebum of our skin but is very light it conditions lashes without weighing them down .. I do know that not all people can tolerate castor oil as it is a heavier oil and jojoba will penetrate and condition lashes as well as your hair .. good luck ❤️..

    Interesting. Thrive is my holy grail mascara and I use the Jane Iredale primer with it. It comes off with my first cleanse day eraser oil and warm water for me without any difficulty. I know this is an old video, but I wanted to address the eye twitching if this was still an issue for you or any or your viewers.
    If you are using any type of eyelash enhancing serum, it can cause constant eyelid twitching. Happened to me with two different brands. The first time it took over a year of use before it started to happen and it lasted a good month before I figured out it was the lash enhancer. I stopped it and it took another month for the twitching to stop. My lashes got short again after a few more months, so I decided to try a different lash enhancer. Lo and behold, the twitching started again after using this new product for just a couple months. I immediately stopped, but it took 3 months for the constant twitching to go away. I will never use a lash enhancer again because of this. And I've heard from others that had this same issue with lash enhancers.
    Now, I use castor oil on my lashes and have been for almost 4 months. No twitching and although my lashes are not as long as when I was using a lash enhancer, they are longer than if I were using nothing. I'm settling for this instead of the frustrating eyelid twitch. :)
