  • CaCO3 - A fairly simple molecule, by the way that molecules go. But this superstar mineral is the second most abundant on Earth, and plays a major role in our society: We're literally built on it! In Part 1, we look at the uses for Calcium Carbonate, it's use in industry, and how it may contribute to Global Climate Change.

Seeing dr stone. Curious about the 4 things you can do with CaCO3.
    Concrete,agriculture and soap plus.

Great video. Isn't the heating of Calcium carbonate to yield quicklime called decarbonization, not calcification?

The calcium will solidify in deposits around your body. Tap water over time will kill you. What minerals (calcium carbonate...) are available, especially in hard tapwater, are poorly absorbed, or rejected by cellular tissue sites, and, if not evacuated, their presence may cause arterial obstruction, and internal damage.

Hey there from England , I agree ! I soon stopped giving my elderly mother the calcium carbonate tables her doctor prescribed. Ido not believe it does any good, so many people take this on their doctors advice !

Can we take calcium carbonate as a supplement to get rid of acidity in the body..??
    Thank you..

i dont think so, unless you know which areas and acidic and can directly put baking soda there

how do you turn calcium carbonate to calcium oxide. dont just tells me Show me k?

You just heat it up, it's that simple. No extra steps, no additives. You put CaCO3 in a furnace and cook it. The heat energy weakens the ionic bonds until they break down, and the atoms reform covalent bonds of CO2 and CaO. Since it's a gas the CO2 just dissipates, leaving the CaO in the furnace.
And if you had paid attention, he said all of that, and then he does show you, he flashes to a short clip of him heating up a chunk of CaCO3 with a blow torch.

Thank goodness we continue to release carbon dioxide, CO2, into the atmosphere, as CO2 is what plants need to live.

      🙄
That has nothing to do with the first amendment really. Not unless people are out to silence basic chemistry. No offense to the guy who made the video but simply speaking was not the point of putting that amendment in the Bill of Rights.
