I can’t speed up audiobooks because I watch on actual cds versus apps but sometimes I wish I could but I don’t think the author/producers want it to be sped up. But I watch videos sped up. I’m watching this at 2x right now🤷🏻♀️ Great video!
Been so long since I read the books I forgot them. Appreciate the insight. As for the viewing/listening speed issue, I listen to almost all of my rather extensive youtube stuff (I work at home, lots of time on my hands) on double speed (or faster if possible). Stuff like .... your videos, with just dialog and conversations, I can actually absorb it better that way (once you get used to it). Movies... really depends on what I'm watching, but I prefer 1x regular speed, but I often do speed it up a bit when it's not that engaging or I just don't care as much. Audiobooks will almost always be 1.5 or however fast I feel comfortable to absorb it. I don't care what a creator thinks, I consume things at my own rate and most of the time that's as the creator intended. It's like a restaurant that won't leave off the mayo because the chef says so... whatever, I'll eat somewhere else.
I have Dyspraxia and I'm a slow reader as it is so I like to takes things at my own pace, if somethings too slow for me then theres something wrong with that authors delivery 😅
Hey guys just watched the video and couldn’t help but comment. You guys should not have chosen to listen to the Clive barker reading. It pales in comparison to the readings by Jefferey Kafer. It’s admirable to have the desire to hear it straight from the author. I’ll compare his reading to hearing George Martin read his books. I would rather listen to the flawed roy dotrice than Martin any day. They are authors and not the best voice actors. I highly recommend the version by Jeffrey Kafer. He does an amazing job of capturing the atmosphere of the books and the audio effect they apply to his voice when reading the lines of the cenobites is on parr with their extreme androgynous and indifferent nature. Second this is the first book review I have ever watched with a considerable amount of time dedicated to listening speeds lol There’s just so much philosophy in barkers work to discuss. The hellbound heart really motivated me to learn more about the nature of evil/good, morality, and freedom. Do any of those exist? or is it all perspective? “angels to some...demons to others” The book is one of my favorite topics to discuss with my philosophy professor and I’m hoping she’ll write a tear down of the books. In regard to listening speeds, I don’t understand speeding through a book because i love details and each word is critical to me. Really it just boils down to preference.
I dont like audio books .. Cant stand wen they try to use different voices for different characters like u said clive did w cenibites i prefer my own imagination to how it should sound

Love The Hellbound Heart! Been listening to some of the comics lately. Happy y’all are doin’ these!⛓🖤
As a seasoned veteran to the elephant-sized shit hitting the fan that is the Hellraiser saga, this was a neat insight. Nice work, boys.
I do love your HR reviews. Lol
I never speed it up. Sometimes I even pause it to mull everything over. I also read books more slowly, for the same reason.

Fair enough! Appreciate the feedback!
