beautiful house.... I really like fairies and their houses..... I am going to try this.... the extra decorations for the house like grass, flowers, bugs and all are really very awesome....
Absolutely beautiful...rich with detail! Bravo! (I always wondered what would happen to the polystyrene eggs. Now I know.) Thank you very much for sharing. I'm a subscriber!
hola, soy de México, vi tu vídeo y quedé maravillada, tienes unas manos mágicas, muy precioso tu trabajo, ojalá dieran clases aquí, te felicito y que Dios te bendiga
I missed so much of what you were doing this time around as you kept going off shot 😔 Loved the fairy house 🤗 The first time I used this type of egg for making something I did not leave a hole for the egg to shrink lol had use nail polish remover to melt it out of my egg house 😲😹
All I can say is WOW! You did an awesome job! I've never played with Polymer Clay but this makes me want to give it a try! I do have a bit of a suggestion for the use of the styrofoam egg. There are 2 kinds of eggs that I noticed at the craft store. There is the "everyday" sort of styrofoam egg that we've all seen made out of what looks to be plastic and it sort of shreds when you cut it. Then there is the one that if you were to cut it it has little tiny white balls. I think that maybe the egg you used........it looks like it anyway. When you took it out of the clay egg after you baked it, it looked all nubbly on the outside. I think I'm going to try that one in a small size just so I don't waste all that clay to se if it works. You say in the video to bake it at 10-15 mins. What is the temperature of the oven and do you use your home oven to do this or a craft oven made especially for clay??? Thank you so much for the videos. I'm getting my coffee and spending my afternoon watching them!
+dublintoo Yes it is the last kind of styrfoam I used, I don't know the first kind :-) And yes it is a great idea to try it on a smaller one the first time! I use my normal oven, and I put it 5 celsius bellow the temperature, that it says on my clay. I hope that helped you a bit. Thanks for the kind words :-)
I thought it was really funny when you wrapped the Styrofoam ball with the polymer, I know when I was using Styrofoam to sit my polymer clay on while working on it the polymer ate through the clay and it looked very strange but in the end what happened to your egg was very cool and such a useful thing that happened. I will indeed do this in the future when making stuff with polymer. I love this project, I am a new subscriber and am looking forward to seeing all of your videos and future videos as well. You are super talented!
Yes I love your videos, I had to stop watching earlier to go out to the store for my Husband but I am going to continue on now you can see my creations here: plus.google.com/+SusieLaLonde/posts/XimvnDPEwFF?authkey=CP-Xs5jq_J-XeQ&pid=6135497563474499122&oid=112354353411241381589
That is so neat and I love all the little details. :) I also liked that the egg shrunk so it could be removed. That opens up so many possibilities including adding a battery operated tea light (if it will fit in the door) or adding some LED light strips inside. :) - Heidi
Thanks! I was actually prepared to use acetone, to get the egg out, I didn't think it would shrink at all, it just made it so much easier to get it out :-) and I could use the smal egg for something els :-)
Daniela mini I had that thought too when I saw the smaller egg. I wonder if it would shrink more if baked again? Could make a texture tool as well. :D - Heidi
How did you make the base clay for the tree? I am new at all this. Plus what did you use to cute out the leaves so easily? Thanks for sharing and I just love this!!
Nathalie Kabela hi there :-) This is how I made the wood cane: ruclips.net/video/rXm6IrSyyF4/видео.html I have some kemper cutters in the shape of the leaves, they come in lots of different shapes... I think you might be able to get them in your hobby store, othervice you can find them online ;-) I hope this will help you
Daniela mini one more question.. on the wood piece at the end you showed you cut it into a thin slice and wrapped it on a pencil. Now if you were adding a few of the sliced together would you put it in the paste machine? if so would it be length ways or width..
When I make pencils, I like them to be a little uneven, so here and there I just cut slices of my cane, put them on and roll it at bit more even.. if you want to put them trough the pasta machine first, you need to remember, that it will stretch the pattern a bit, depending on how thin you make the piece.. so you can put it into the pasta machine the way you like it to stretch, so it is actually all up to you! I hope this helped you a bit
Charmaine Clayton Hi yes I bake more than one time. This way I avoid to ruin things that I'm done with, so I don't have to watch where I put my fingers while creating, and if I have to leave it for a day or two then I know it is safe. But yes you can make your creation all done, before baking, if you like that better :-)
The styrofoam did schrink, You can also see that in the video, where I take it out of the baken project.. I have now gotten a message, that it can be toxic to bake it, I didn't have any problems with that, but be carefull, you could make the shape of the egg with tin foil, and then make the house on that ❤️
That is from a set with 4 small cutters I found in a store here in DK, but you can find them online - kemper cutters www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=kemper+cutters&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=Small+clay+cutters
Evelyn DeLeon I actually show that in the video... The egg schrunk, and could be easely taken out trough the doorway 😀 just know that it is not all polysteren eggs that schink, and not all of them there is healthy to heat
Hi Peg I actually think there is only one kind og styrofoam, but I really don't know for sure! I make sure there is no air traped between the styrofoam and the clay, and it did never exploded for me
+Daniela mini (DRN) what type of Styrofoam did you use? I just made a house with the more expensive Styrofoam and it expanded, ruining my beautiful creation😢😭😣
well I only know of one kind of styrofoam, I actually didn't know there were more than one type... sorry your creation was ruiend :-( maybe next time try blowing out a normal egg, make a airhole in the egg that is not covered, and then make your creation over that, after baking, you can break the egg, and your creation eill be fine!! But remember the airhole, otherwice it will explode..
Well I take my things with on sales exhabitions / fairs here in Denmark, and I have a Danish FB side where I also sell from. But that will not help you much :-( You can contact me with a private message on my facebook: facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008839090366 Then we can talk about what you would like to buy from me :-)
I worked on this very hard. I made your wood, I bought and covered a egg as directed. I got it all coved as instructed, did all my cut outs, then baked for 15 minutes and my styrofoam ball must have expanded instead of shrinking and ruined the entire project. It made me very sad! Linda
+Linda Ketner oh no! It should not expande, but I found out that if the polymer clay is sticking to the styrofoam, then it will be ruiend, as it shrinks, as it will be pulled in a wrong direction - I'm so sorry.. maybe covering the styrofoam egg with tinfoil first will avoid the problem, but I didn't get to try that out - and I might have been really lucky with this house
This is beautiful but just a friendly warning that styrofoam can give off very dangerous fumes that can actually kill you and anyone else in the house. Perhaps you’ve already done the research but people watching who may want to try this should know to do their own research and only attempt once they’re very happy they know they are using safe products.
Thank you so much, you are not the only one there have had this consern, I actually didn't know this, before I started this project. I think I was lucky, sadly I can't do the video over, but thanks for the warning
Stunningly beautiful
Thank you so very much

The wood fimo, is it something you make yourself? If so, is it something you've shared how to make? It is beautiful :-)
Hi yes the wood cane I made my self, and you find the link for the tutorial in the infobox under the video
How did you make the base clay for the tree? I am new at all this. Plus what did you use to cute out the leaves so easily? Thanks for sharing and I just love this!!

Hi Daniela
are you baking more than once? can the baking not be done all at one time once everything is finished?
Charmaine Clayton Hi yes I bake more than one time. This way I avoid to ruin things that I'm done with, so I don't have to watch where I put my fingers while creating, and if I have to leave it for a day or two then I know it is safe.

Thanks a lot it's a really beautiful piece. ..
You are welcome!
And thank you

+TheZICO1956 Sorry I don't understand, and google translate will not translate that word
+Daniela mini (DRN) BEAUTIFUL, WONDERFUL
Thank you som much
So nothing will happened to styrofoam when you bake it? It usully shrines and i was afraid to try to do projects with it

What cutter did you use for the leaves and where can I get it :)
That is from a set with 4 small cutters I found in a store here in DK, but you can find them online - kemper cutters
www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=kemper+cutters&_sacat=0&LH_TitleDesc=0&_osacat=0&_odkw=Small+clay+cutters
I love it!!!!!
+Missi R Thank you :-)
This is gorgeous. Can this be used outside or would it need to be treated first?
+PurpleStorm16 Thank you so much
fantastic, what kind of glue did you use?
+marleen buelens I didn't use glue, but I used Bake & bond between the differet things
+Daniela mini (DRN) is that some kind of liquid fimo? i don't know Bake and bond, i live in belgium
Yes that is a thicker fimo liquied like thing, you can easily use fimo liquied, I like bake & bond, as it is more sticky than fimo liquied
+Daniela mini (DRN) oh thank you daniela, this i have so i will try it
:-)
OMG that's amazing!!!!!!!🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🙋🙋🙋🙋🙋
Thank you
we're do u buy the eggs can u get them at walmart
Well I'm from Denmark, and we don't have a walmart, but I'm pretty sute hobby lobby or Michaels have them by you :-)
すごい!
ありがとうございました
how you empty the inside.
Evelyn DeLeon I actually show that in the video... The egg schrunk, and could be easely taken out trough the doorway 😀 just know that it is not all polysteren eggs that schink, and not all of them there is healthy to heat
Det er helt vild sødt!
Tak
Okay. Det ville nok have taget mig noget længere tid hehe... :D
Nu laver jeg jo ikke ret meget andet end mit miniature :-)
what is it B &B?
Diana Jonhson Bake and Bond :-)
thank you
very beutiful work
Thank you :-)
Are there different kinds of styrofoam? Someone said they covered a ball in clay and when they baked it it exploded all over their oven. Any ideas?
Hi Peg
I actually think there is only one kind og styrofoam, but I really don't know for sure!
I make sure there is no air traped between the styrofoam and the clay, and it did never exploded for me
I bought styrofoam from the dollar store and it shrank so fast the clay collapsed. Wal Marts is much denser and works great.
Linda Owens This is good to know - thanks for sharing
Daniela mini I just realized the cheaper foam EXPANDS first. That's why my fairy house broke to pieces.
I'm happy you are sharring this with us Linda, just sad your fairy house broke :-(
Did u bake it then it shrunk?
+alicia jara Yes the heat from the oven made the styrofoam shrink
+Daniela mini (DRN) what type of Styrofoam did you use? I just made a house with the more expensive Styrofoam and it expanded, ruining my beautiful creation😢😭😣
well I only know of one kind of styrofoam, I actually didn't know there were more than one type...

But remember the airhole, otherwice it will explode..
I tried twice with two different foam eggs. Broke both times in oven. I am so bummed.
Arghhh I'm really sorry about that! Did you try to vrap the egg in tinfoil before working on it?
I want to see it PLEASE!!!
I will make a video for you showing of the details on this as soon as possible
Thanks I love ❤️ you VIDEO IS GREAT!!!
Please do it!!!
Te- as ruga sa imi spui cum ai scos forma dupa ce l- ai copt
The egg did schrink while baking, so It was easy to take it out.
Daniela mini multumesc de raspuns
Cu plăcere
Did u sell ur creations?
bunny tsukino I sell a lot of my creations, but this one I have standing on a shelf, as I really don't feel like selling this little one
Where can I buy them do you have a site? Or how I can get one? Thanks for responding me
Well I take my things with on sales exhabitions / fairs here in Denmark, and I have a Danish FB side where I also sell from.
But that will not help you much :-(
You can contact me with a private message on my facebook:
