A good video on repairing and maintaining a steam engine. I don't think I would have been as successful as you were taking it apart, fixing it and getting it back together. She's a good runner again.
A great video showing what you have done Bruce. I have a loco that I need to tighten up the crank arms with those little aluminium pins and not looking forward to that. This sure does look like it needs and did have a trailing pony truck, there sure is enough space for it and probably that last screw in the bottom that is recessed looks like the place for it.
Thanks for checking in, Tim. I'm keeping my eyes open for a trailing truck for that loco. In the meantime, it runs quite well - it just looks a bit 'unbalanced'.🙂
I haven't seen the video where you use brake fluid to remove paint, but it makes perfect sense knowing brake fluid like we do. Still busy here, but I did manage to find, and buy, some S scale track and transformer for my American flyer. I hope to have time to see if my repairs on it were successful.

Rick, taking side rods & valve gear off to fix always gives me pause. This one went off without a hitch. Thanks for checking in and leaving a comment.

Good to hear from you, Gandy. Hope to see that American Flyer loco sometime down the line.
Was there a screw location for a trailing truck?
Joe, among the screw holes in the underframe, I believe that there is one that would work.
