Yea man, we've been loving the Autumn colours, still a few good spots around as well. Was cool to hang out with Oma and Opa... Yea the girls and toby are so creative with their play I love it. They also were asking when you were going to make another video, I think they are keen to see you guys in action again.
Thanks mate, appreciate that. The Clyde Dam was a pretty beautiful place to park up for a few days... We also did do the Dunstan trail, Soph and her Dad rode it and I ran, was a tough run, but If I videod everything we did, I'd never get a video finished.
Did the Dunstan trail on my bike from Clyde, epic seanery, but the big hill before you go down to the floating Cafe was hard, but we'll worth doing. Think you said you were going to Mavora lakes. Our favorite spot. Hope we catch up one of these days.
Another great video Mike, brought back many great memories of the area for us 👍 can’t believe how green the grass was around Clyde Dam, there was barely any grass back in January, very brave going in the water good on you 😀
Some stunning scenery and great footage again. Always good to know your brakes are in top condition, certainly a bit of a sting needing to do the rotors as well. Mel's car needs a computer from Japan because the windscreen wipers stopped working, yikes! I recall going through Cromwell and the Clyde dam as a kid as they were starting to fill it, and luckily we could enter the dam. It makes for a great recreational Lake and heaps of power.
New computer from Japan aye no doubt that will be expensive, bills Suck... I've actually just put a little ad up here on twizel to do some plastering and painting. Lots of interest so will be good to put some $$$ back in our emptying bank account... having lots of power and a big lake is pretty awesome I feel a but sorry for all those who lost orchids and land though, but I'm sure they would have been well compensated.
hey mate, we have no idea, what Summer is going to look like yet, likely we will be in that area either for Christmas or not to long after, we' haven't explored any of that area yet, and will go back to the North Island Likely in Feb for some family events. @@buzzardcry
3000 subs!!!! U guys deserve it and ur the best.from the 1st vid I watched I was hooked... I can't wait to see what u guys do in the next years!!. I'm too old for a family now but if I was guna have a family I'd want one just like u kiwis!!!! Thanks for all the great content and the support for my channel... Who knows maybe 1 day I'll be a kiwi too 😜🥝... Till then see yah in the next 1 & BRING ON 10,000 SUBS❤️🤙✌️
Seeing that river and old village reminded me of when we went to the village that was flooded in the UK for the dam. Better to pay for car maintenance but its annoying as you feel like its lost money*
yea your right about lost money... But it's definintely about being safe, with the family and 3tonnes on the back we got some big hills in New Zealand, we need to know we can stop if we have to. Dams are very interesting aye, lots of politics behind them when you flood peoples land... The spot where we were camping, was called fruit growers road... where the lake now is, used to be a prime location for growing apricots... Apparently 12 or 13 large orchids were removed for the lake...
The orchard the kids were frolicing used to be down the gorge at..... Jackson's 😂 The little museum at Roxburgh is a cracker about gold history. They got huge gold from under old cromwell before it got wet. On gold a dredge went through lower Millers flat maybe twenty year ago, same when you get out of the manuka gorge heading to Milton. South side of the road was done but they reckon the other side of the road had more. There is still gold operations going in that general area, have heard there's a plant headed to the clutha between Wanaka and cromhole. Drilling is happening now in that general area...
Pretty keen to head back to central Otago and do Ranfurly, Millers flat area... I bet there is still heaps of Gold around, I did hear about the Gold been found under the buildings that were being moved.. Amazing aye. I hope they gave the Gold to the old land owners.
@@leopardsgowild yeah right😂 Well worth while popping into the gold shop in Arrowtown, he's got a good nugget that was pulled out of the arrow river last year below Arrowtown. It's around three ounces.
Still catching up on your back catalogue. Did Sophie do the Lake Dunstan cycle trail? It's a not miss but steep in places. Lol at the RJ Charades and the girls guessing when they knew the answers. We thought from one of your earlier videos when the brake system between the car and caravan wasn't functioning that your brake discs could be damaged. Painful bill but as you said you cannot put a price on safety.
Yes Soph rode it with her Dad, and I ran it, she gave me the keys so I coule drive myself back, was a beautiful day when we did it, but pretty exposed even in April it was toasty hot out there. The brakes are something you def want working well, our truck brakes were good, but just worn and needed replacing, they didn't last very long only about 40,000km from when my dad had them replaced. My Dad lasted 180,000km on the first set.
It's beautiful here bro, loved al of it so far. North island has its magic to though, I don't think you will beat Northlands beaches. Heaps still to explore still though. I'd choose to live down south though... Definitely feeling quite unconnected to any place right now...
@@leopardsgowild yeah I'd agree with ya about the beaches mate. I myself love it down south. We always used to celebrate new years down in Wanaka or Queenstown. There's something special about the areas. Magic scenery etc. I guess we like different views an things to do here and there throughout life. I'm glad you guys are enjoying it and the kids are too. Cheers
Those autumn colours 🍂 😮
Special time spent with Oma and Opa, great spots shared together. A lot of effort put into making that game girls!

THanks as always for watching, mate. Glad you can enjoy some scenary from Down under and a different culture.
Great Video Mike!
Why thank you dot
Great video Mike. Love it down Central Otago in all seasons. Have had many great camping holidays down there. How was the cake?
the cake was beautiful and moist with that fruit... Central Otago is a gem for New Zealand 4 proper seasons a beautiful place.
Central Otago is a very special place. Most tourists bypass it on their way to Queenstown. They don't know what they missed. We Kiwis do.
Looking forward to visiting again this winter especially out the back round the old rail trail etc
Really enjoyed this one, was at Clyed last month by the dam. Your videos are getting better and better. I'm looking forward to the next episode 😀

it was a great spot, lots of good freedom camping areas in the area to... Looking forward to going back in summer.

I remember, though not very well, the old Cromwell before it all went underwater in particular the drive down to the bridge and the old NZR bus depot.
