- Myvi used to be the most popular car in Malaysia. Swift has been one of the best selling cars worldwide.
This channel is mainly reviewing cars focusing on reliability and customer’s satisfaction. Most cars reviewed here are used cars which have been tested over time for reliability records. I don’t promote any particular brand of cars but I would like to give my audience the best and most honest opinion possible. While most cars reviewers never take into consideration of long term ownership and cost of keeping, I always point out the advantages and disadvantages of owning a car. I also don’t necessarily like new features which are prone to problems in the near future. I prefer cars that are long lasting with minimal cost of maintenance, road tax, and fuel consumption. However, recommendation of each car may vary depending on where you live considering there are difference in usage, road conditions, road tax, fuel cost and popularity of the cars.

Can you make a review for the Kenari ? because there is still plenty units of Kenari's on the road here at Kuching especially. My father owned one before & used it 11 years. Im very miss that car because it has a sentimental value & i like the tall roof design that makes easier for people who grown tall

I have a 1.3 manual Swift and dare i say its driving pleasure is even more than a 1.3 Yaris/vios which we also have in the family and i have driven both : /
Yes, I didn’t expect to like it when I bought but as time went by, my whole family loves it. I love the look. The interior is so pleasant. I have not tried the manual. I’ve driven the manual Myvi but don’t quite like it.

Toyota Yaris 2008 vs. Suzuki Swift 2015 (both similar mileage, good maintenance).
I prefer the look of the Swift 2015 and much newer. Take the Swift 😄

The regular service cost just the same as the Myvi. It uses Toyota oil filter. Spare parts are mostly available in Kuching. I have not had problems finding a spare part.

If need to recommend for fresh graduate student, which one do u prefer, is it myvi or swift? In term of reliability for 5/6 year kedepan ...
Myvi is surely reliable but buying a used one, I prefer the Swift. I won’t buy the Swift new but the price of the Swift drops much faster so buying a used Swift could be a great bargain. Swift drives better and looks better. The 4-cylinder engine feels and sounds nicer.

Which one cheaper in term of maintenance cost between swift and jazz 2008?
Both cost about the same for regular maintenance because they have the same power train but long term ownership, Jazz should be more reliable. So Jazz is cheaper to own.
Good review. May I know the things you replaced in th swift?
Sensor O-ring, brake fluid, washers for brake callipers , stabiliser link and bush absorber mounting, lower arm sassy... btw, mine has very mileage.
@@wowcarwow Noted. I am experiencing some rattle and bumpy on uneven roads seems I need to replace shocks.
@@CasaLobo77 you can get a mechanic to diagnose . Mine had a knocking sound on the engine bay but the mechanic took a few days to check and they could not diagnose correctly. Finally, I brought home and fixed it myself. It was a very simple fix. Rubbers will eventually wear out over time so some rattling sound here and there is unavoidable.

In my opinion I like Perodua myvis for the reliability and the safety the Perodua once survived being crushed and didn't explode the driver was fine only minor injury
Hi, Myvi has driven much lesser mileage than d swift but the interior visually look more worn out than d swift. Is this so?
It’s not been taken good care.
Comparing shift with myvi is like comparing a kancil with an Iris.

If i were to buy 2009 Suzuki swift that has very long mileage, how much is the maintenance would cost me. Thank you in advance
I think if it’s a highway mileage, it’s Okay within 150K. Regular maintenance costs the same as a Myvi. Some parts like wheel bearings cost about the same. What’s important, the engine and transmission are still in good condition. No burning oil. Transmission oil has been changed every 50,000 km. just check the service manual. The paint quality is not very good with Swift but I’d still choose the Swift.

It depends on where you are. In Kuching, you can get this model less than 24K. West Malaysia, it would be much cheaper.

Common issues on swift?
Two common issues are the rattling sound and poor paint quality. However, It uses Aisin Transmission (Toyota Transmission) so reliability is the advantage.
