Man, we're in Fontaine already? Guess it's time to re-watch peak and absolute cinema again.
Looking back, the very reason Furina was so adamant at holding the Traveler to a trial as soon as they stepped foot in Fontaine was because she really hoped a trial involving the Traveler, knowing their reputation and "the chaos they left in their wake in other nations," would be that special trial Furina has always been waiting for. Foreshadowing at its finest.
Yes, I also noticed that
Aether squaring up against the Hydro Archon immediately upped my respect for him even as I remember he lost to Arle

I still can't believe how well they nailed the underwater exploration. I don't think I've ever played a game with better underwater moving mechanics unless the whole game was built around it.

I hope the writers cook up a storm for Natlan because I don't know when I'll ever fall in love with such brilliantly written characters again like Furina, Neuvillette, and Navia. (and everyone else too but they're my top 3 by far)

There's many peak for the Fontaine story. Archon quests, Story Quests and even the World Quest. Can't wait for the Narssizenkrauz quest chain.
They really foreshadowed Furina’s past right at the beginning “And what you see in reality might be someone deliberately putting in an act while harboring ulterior motives”.

Wow! I didn't realize there were so many hints foreshadowing the twists and plot of Fontaine archon quest from just the first act. Like the identity of furina being an actor, the epic duel between the hydro archon and the traveler, and the origins of the people of Fontaine. This makes me want to pay extra attention when natlan first act drops 🧐

Furina's arc is basically disconnecting herself from Social Media cause it was unhealthy for her to live solely as her inauthentic internet-persona.

Fun fact: When I was on the cliff and overlooking Fontaine, I decided to glide to the docks.
My stamina ran out right before I would land on them.
That feel when I drown going to the nation of hydro.
I had no clue we had a waverider until a week later.
Girlfailure moment if I have ever had one.
The whole Fontaine quest is truly a masterpiece, especially when you rewatched it and observe Furina's every motive.
Watching you thru this journey made me start a new account. Between my day job and playing, I hope I'm caught up before Snezhnaya so I can be around the excitement of its release!
I lost interest for some reason with my first account(which I've had since 2020) 1 year ago after I completed the full Fontaine arc. I never explored the region or did the world quests. Hell, I never even started the desert quests. This time around, I'm excited to play, and it's been a joy running through Mondstadt and Liyue for the first time again. Thank you for keeping me entertained and pumped for new Genshin content❤

It’s been a long time since I played the game. I stopped before 4.0, and I tried it a bit after, but just couldn’t get back into Genshin again.
But the story is something I’ll always be interested in, and these vids have finally caught up to what I’ve missed for over a year. I’ve deliberately avoided many spoilers, and while I have a vague understanding of what happened, I’m glad I can finally see the full impact of what happened in Fontaine.
Looking at Furina's introduction from her POV is both really funny and really sad. She hears of this Traveller who, according to reports, has had devastation follow them in every nation, then 30 seconds after meeting, this person pulls out their sword and tells a "God" to square up. But also, this is still Furina, the human with no innate powers, having someone immediately ready to attack her with no hesitation AND she probably has a feeling that bringing them into the court house could finally lead to her awaited trial, so of course she scrambles for any random dumb lore she can chuck at us to try and rope us in and free her from her cycle.

I'm amazed at how all of those NPCs foreshadowed Act V... And the very first title "Soloist's Prologue" in reference to Furina's banner title "Endless Solo of Solitude"? Absolutely amazing. I'll definitely keep a sharper eye out in Natlan!

I’m surprised Arnold didn’t immediately realize that that guy that was bowing to Furina when we first meet her was the same guy that was acting suspicious in Caravan Ribat, making it very apparent that she knew we were coming, because he hurried back and informed Furina of our arrival
I think technically we saw venti sooner than this, but ya know, first region exceptions and all that
I meant the first archon we met when arriving in a new nation, where we KNEW it was the archon. We met Venti in the forest, but we didn't know he was the archon until much later compared to Furina.

With that said, I kinda hate how Rhodeia's paranoid expectation that someone is trying to execute her is still an unresolved plot thread. Yes, the waters were turned bad by the cataclysm. They left fontaine out of their own choice, but it doesnt explain why Rhodeia was paranoid about someone hunting her down.
This really supports the theory that Fontaine's story was kind-of rewritten. Glad it turned out the way it did tho, Fontaine AQ was peak.
