Khaenri’ah: we’ve been destroyed because the gods did not approve of our ways. Abyss Order: we aim to revive our nation and follow our leader with the intention of restoring our homeland’s glory Dainslief: I failed to protect my people and have been cursed with immortality, it is my divine punishment, for I could not protect those who needed. "Everything is the fruit of seeds planted long ago [...] Time is just waiting for those seeds to sprout." these lines have a lot more weight now to me, with so much revolving around seeds & time - in Ei's story quest & in a certain hidden part of the Chasm. it's so interesting to revisit this quest with all the new information we have now!

The fact that Dainsleif told us that the Nameless Ruins of the Chasm are similar to Khaenri'ah tho. We know that Chasm and Enkanomiya were cities that once belonged to the first Unified Civilization during the Primordial One era. And Celestia has gone to great lengths to erase all evidence, knowledge and culture regarding that age (Destroying kingdoms and forcing people to abandon their culture). No wonder they ruthlessly destroyed a nation that wanted to follow the path of the First Throne.
I kinda think that Khaenri'ah has inherited the legacy of the Primordial One era like the art of Khaemia and tech and so on. And that's the reason why Celestia wants to destroy them all (remember that Khaenri'ah is about to find the truth of this world in Enka).

Dain saying that he doesn't like Andrius "because he was an ancient God who willing became the servant of the Seven" makes so much sense now. Especially " the Seven" part. Not just Venti's. Dain dislikes him because he succumbed to Celestia, who essentially usurped the world that was ruled before by the Primordial One. It seems Dain doesn't like only the Gods under Celestia's rule, not all of them. And what he said at the Falcon's Temple. It all adds up now.

This past month I was actually burned out on genshin and sorta stopped playing because i just felt that i had nothing to do most of the time. I've been playing since day ONE and never thought that i would ever reach that point, but i was just starting to get sick of it... but once again, your videos reignited my passion and love for the world, so major thanks to you fam. Now i'm playing again, and gotta say the new irodori event is a banger
I think you were so surprised by the Traveler's secret knowledge than most because you expect everything you go through be all that the Traveler goes through. XD Though our voiceless protagonist might feel like it, they're not a self insert and their lore is more mysterious than any other character in Teyvat besides Paimon.
This quest does reward actually reading the character storis and voicelines, which I don't think he *has* by this point in the rewind? The period before the start of the game, with Paimon teaching the Traveler the Teyvat common tongue etc, is all stuck there and not in the AQ for the longest time.
I remember playing through this and the satisfaction of having so many pieces fall into place only to be presented with even more questions. Rewatching this quest with current knowledge is awesome.
I discovered you through Rwby and when I stepped away from that series somehow I found you again through Genshin! Your enthusiasm AND analysis is wonderful!
it's amazing how close you're about the abbys order and hilichurls, I should stop here because I'm pretty sure I'll get spoiled by the time I watch your Sumeru and Fontaine reactions 😂
Been loving this play list as someone who doesnt have enough time to play but have always wanted to. You really are the only streamer I've been able to find that actually enjoyable to watch play genshin
This was the update I started playing genshin on and I remember doing this quest with no prior notice at all that our sibling was gonna make an appearance. That domain made me so uncomfortable and I remember being so shocked to see someone's actual canonically dead corpse. The content leading up to this we're all just epic and adorable moments, so I never expected the game to get this dark this quickly . This whole quest was really something else and was what really got me hooked on the lore.
9:05 Exactly what I was thinking! It feels like it's another element, maybe "Abyss" that'll be introduced in the end. Maybe it also has a connection with the extra oculus we have for each region? I thought if Dainsleif becomes a playable character, he would have that element since he already has scenes where he uses the dark hellish fire like in 1:07:21.
@MurderofBirds Gaming I don't know if you figured it out yet, but when Lumine said she was "going to war with destiny," that was a mis-translation. The actual line in Chinese (and Japanese) is: "going to war against The Heavenly Principles." Also, I recommend seeking out Zach Aguilar's RUclips Channel. He's the Voice Actor for Aether. When he got to this quest, he actually did a Live Voice Over for Aether's Conversation with Lumine (he chose Aether for his Player Avatar). Let me tell you two things. One: Zach Aguilar is one HELL of a Voice Actor because HOLY SHIT his performance was of Legendary Quality! Like he was just streaming himself playing Genshin and didn't have to go hard. But the boy went HARD. He treated it like an ACTUAL performance that was being recorded by Mihoyo. Two: Zach doing the Voice Over completely changed the entire scene. The emotionality he put behind the words; the inflections and cadence of his words brought me to tears. He single-handedly proved that Mihoyo done fucked up by not having all of the player's lines fully voiced. The game is SO much better with a fully voiced player character. If you're interested, look for his videos where has has Sarah Miller-Crews (Lumine) as a guest. She was on the stream with him for this session. I still need to go check out her RUclips Channel and see if she did a Lumine Voice Over for that part. I'm going to echo a lot of your Subscribers and say that you're currently my favorite Genshin RUclipsr. I'm a Lore-Whore like you and love you for that! Keep up the great work Arnold!
10:18 this part was the first time Genshin genuinely scared me and made me feel uneasy, even after I turned the game off (it doesn’t take much, I’ll admit lmao). I knew something really crazy was going on with the story once I got here. Ahhh!
I think if there are elements for every region, than the last two ones have to be darkness and light. And it is kinda obvious that the abyss includes shadows, the light may be the power of Khaenria'h...the dream to be dreamd
(Sorry to reply to an old comment 😅) I was thinking about this too! I had two thoughts on it: 1. My first thought was also a “dark element/power” and a “light/holy power/element”. This would also line up with many of the most influential RPGs and JRPGs. Many RPGs have mages that use dark power, light/holy power, and power of the more typical elements (water, fire, etc). So that would make a lot of sense with what gamers know about magic in gaming. This is a good educated guess, because we use continuity across RPGs to help us understand all games that we play. Like after playing so many games, you automatically understand how leveling up, resource management, side quests, buffs, dungeons, different character tropes, and all sorts of other things work to a certain extent. 2. BUT I was also thinking that we have actually already SEEN two “powers/elements” that are unnamed in the game. Whatever Dainsleif uses is one of them. I’ve heard some people call it the “abyssal element/power”. Whatever it is, it’s definitely related to Khaenri’ah. The other power/element we’ve seen is whatever The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles used in the opening cutscene of the game. This also seems to be the same power/element that was being used in the destruction of Khaenri’ah scene. Her power/element looks to be those weird black-ish, red-ish blocks. So technically, there are two more elements that we have seen in game that are not named, and this lines up with two more “nations” (idk if we call Celestia a “nation”). I think the it is also plausible because the “light/holy” and “dark” power wouldn’t quite work in this story, since the idea of “light/holy/pure/good” and “dark/evil” doesn’t fully align with either side. Celestia is heavenly, but potentially evil. And Khaenri’ah has a dark theme visually, they are the enemy of Celestia/heaven, and even if their intentions are understandable they still use questionable methods (the abyss) for their purposes. So it makes sense that they couldn’t choose light vs dark, because that would be too black and white. I’m really excited to see where all of this goes! It would be so awesome if there are two more playable elements ✨
i was SO excited to see your reaction it's always amazing to hear your theories!! i manage to catch things i didn't get at first, no one does it like you so thank you a lot 🙏 best genshin content creator so far
lolol watching your commentary is so funny xD also revisiting old dain lore with all the new lore we got as of current really make me have crazy expectations for future dain content o_o!!
I only just noticed Lumine's current active element is light. The Abyss is embodiment of darkness. There's probably more elements than just the established 7. Paimon is an archon of time for sure, she can pause and move time forward, the story or "world progression" is highly dependent on her being there at the time to activate quests. If I had to guess, Kiana, Heavenly Principles, is probably an archon of space who created Teyvat and gnosis after destroying Khanri'ah, hidden beneath the layer of Teyvat. Mei is in Inazuma, Kiana is up on the moon, Bronya is the archon of Snezhnaya. The locations and setting for these characters fit perfectly. Question remains, why have 11 harbingers for 7 archons? Like this, there would be exactly 11 archons with addition of Light/Dark/Time/Space. They probably need all gnosis just to summon Kiana. Many archons will tell you "the war 500 years ago was just a game to the gods", the fact is, to the player, this world and all it's wars is actually a video game. Gnosis looking like chess pieces is a good metaphor from No Game No Life of needing to gather them all before gaining the authority to challenge god. P.S. HoYoverse loves breaking 4th wall in really good ways, these characters are all fighting against the reality that they are fictional, because the people that made them, want them to be real and you could almost feel from the way they are made and treated. But they could all be scrapped and destroyed any moment by the people funding them. The true "Finality" they have to fight, exists in the real world. Even if FlyMe2TheMoon dies, Kiana is still out there fighting to exist.
Our twin seems to be really confident that our conclusion regarding everything will reflect theirs entirely. Are the twins so similar in essence that no matter what kind of experience they have had, ultimately they're gonna emulate eachother's perspectives!?
I’ve seen so many people referring to the other twin as “the evil twin” but it really gives the idea that the abyss aren’t actually the true bad guys credit. Like, the twin is very confident that once the traveler knows the things they know, then the traveler will agree with them. There is clearly a lot we don’t fully understand, yet!
I keep getting reminded why I love watching this channel, just the way he appreciates the game is on a whole different level. Also. How tf does he predict some of these things??? Like the abyss and hilichurl stuff, like how?? Sure there is no confirmation about the hilichurls (to my knowledge) but goddang man
And now The Loom Of Fate is complete! Man, I'm getting busier with work. Thank God Arnold play this with lore being his main focus. Really, now I just skip dialogs to finish the quest as quickly and watch you for the story and lore.
This quest is where we all should start to reconsider that Aether(or the MC) is not a self insert character. Because they have their own memory, experience and personality.
maybe the abyss twin lived in Khaenri'ah, maybe to try and figure out how to wake us up lol that could probably explain their odd attachment to the nation. then she was able to wake us up when the destruction happened, attempted to escape Khaenri'ah, got blocked by the Unknown God. But, what did the traveler do in those hundreds of years tho before we met Paimon? Why don't we know about the research stuff we apparently have been doing? lmao
I'm so glad this wasn't a two part thingy because it would've killed me- really excited for the story quests and we're definitely in for a ride because you'll learn more about them. plus the sick animations too . oh AND STANLEY FROM VENTI'S QUEST. OH BOY XDD
i really appreciate how lore involved you are. the little details you recall & pick up on are things i would’ve gone the whole game missing & are very cool
OMG.. been waiting for this one n i'm so glad it's a long one!! so excited to see ur reaction and hear ur thoughts n theories as always 😭😭 keep up the good work!! 💗
Dem this is what I call a quality content. Watching your videos and live streams is so fun in lore wise. Love your content as always Arnold. Looking forward for more time capsule videos.
I only just noticed the corruption thingy on Dain's neck... Was I blind? Edit: Also, have you noticed that the Ruin Guard at Stormterror's lair is looking up directly at Celestia. Maybe it didn't shoot the missiles at approaching people, but at Celestia instead? Since it came al the way to the top of the tower. It seems to match with what the message at Dragonspine was saying (the 32-23 thingy)
I love that as a day 1 player. These are old quests. It's no longer a spoiler for me. It also reminds me of things I forgot like why did we need the eye of the field tiller again?
1:07:34 I hope that the 8th element or when u got all 7 elements, the MC will be as strong as Meta characters right now or even stronger. its like a reward for you by completing all these quest and then when every nation is release maybe something otherwordly planet or dimension that we deal with next.. but thats along time in the future.
Loved this! I’ve been looking forward to your playthrough of this quest for a long time, and that cutscene with Lumine and Dainsleif is one of my favourites in the game so far. Tbh I only vaguely remember Jean’s story quest, but I can’t wait for Venti’s quest to see your reaction to finally learning about Stanley after he’s been mentioned so many times 😂 I’m also looking forward to seeing what your reaction was to Kaeya’s bio. Though actually if you read the manga first maybe there wasn’t anything surprising left 🤔 I still need to find time to go read the manga 😅
i had been waiting anxiously for this one!! i knew you would absolutely love this quest, just like I did. Nothing beats the joy that comes from watching a MurderofBirds video 💚
God, the way you quote old stuff you've heard from memory like you just heard it five minutes ago, man... I admire that kind of dedication to committing stuff to memory :D
Thanks! I have a memory like a steel vice grip when it comes to things I care about. I also have a very photogenic memory, so I rarely forget things that I'm committed to, and have a good grasp on remembering things that are more fleeting.
I've been waiting for this! Thank you so much for uploading here on yt. Watching this before stepping into the new archon quest to refresh my memory 🤣.
I love that MurderofBirds created this channel. He's my favorite in YT and twitch streamer. I am now watching his previous video on his twitch. You should subscribe and watch his streams. Like chat is very nice and meme'ing Arnold haha just don't give spoilers!
31:23 in the first cutscene The Sustainer of Heavenly Principles said “The arrogation of mankind ends now.” So I guess the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles (the SOHP) must have been referring to khaenri'ah’s “arrogance”. I’m sure you’re so much further along with lore than me, I’m only just starting to piece things together 🙈 I’m literally having to pause to gather my thoughts. This is so awesome. I hope that Zhongli and Venti aren’t the same as The SOHP, because they seem to want to protect humans and be totally happy with the idea of humans being able to govern themselves and do their own things 😭 I don’t want to think of Zhongli as a bad guy 😭 When we saw the destruction of khaenri'ah cutscene, it looked like it was being destroyed by the SOHP’s block-like powers. I didn’t see any of the other archon’s powers/elements 😰 Edit: I was thinking a little more. 1. I started wondering more about the traveler referring to the SOHP as an “unknown god”. I was also thinking about how this lines up with the other archons. I wonder if the SOHP is sort of above the archons of tevyat, and therefore more distant. So the ranking would be SOHP > archons > adepti/yakuzha/other mystical beings > vision holders > humans. It’s so hard to know what the traveler knows, because they are apparently not a self insert character. They just suddenly drop on us that they knew stuff about khaenri’ah and knew they first arrived in tevyat 500 years ago this whole time, and we (the player) certainly didn’t know that. So for the traveler to call the SOHP an “unknown god” feels intentional? Maybe? 2. And maybe the archons know her more than other beings, but they still don’t have much interaction with her. Maybe they’ve been able to live hundreds-thousands of years, only interacting with her a couple times (or only hearing about her from previous/other archons), and they have come to their own conclusions about humans, life, the world, and how things should be. Maybe this is why Zhongli and Venti think it’s so important that the people of their nations can take care of themselves, because they are against what happened in Khaenri’ah and worry it could happen again. 3. Maybe the cryo archon has come to the conclusion that she needs to take the power from the other archons and align with the abyss to use their power so she can become the strongest archon in tevyat to protect her nation from the SOHP? Like, maybe every archon has their own idea for what method is best to protect their nation from becoming another Khaenri’ah? Because even though it seems that the cryo archon is evil so far, she could not be on the same side as the SOHP if she (through the fatui) is also working with the abyss (if we are to assume the abyss has connection with Khaenri’ah). The SOHP would be firmly opposed to the abyss. Currently, the story is painting the cryo archon/fatui, the abyss, and the SOHP as the major villains, but they are not on the same teams. Clearly we need to fully understand the cryo archon’s intentions and the abyss order’s true intentions to understand if they are all truly villains with different motives, or if there is only one villain. 4. It’s also interesting that the archons seem to have been allowed to wage war amongst themselves, but the SOHP did not tolerate humans creating a nation that did not need gods and stepped in about Khaenri’ah. So I wonder if the next war will basically be: those who are against the SOHP vs those who are against the SOHP, rather than just gods vs humans. I haven’t even completed Inazuma yet (I’ve done the archon quest, but no Inazuma character story quests), so this is really the first time I’m putting any of my thoughts together on lore haha. Im sure I’m wrong about so much that is eventually covered as I get further into the game. I know Arnold and everyone else is wayyyy past me on the story/lore. I don’t have any friends who play this game with me, and the Genshin community overall is way ahead of me and excitedly discussing the latest stuff. No one wants to talk about stuff from a million patches ago, understandably lol. So I dont have anyone to ramble to, but it’s so exciting I felt like I needed to get my thoughts and speculations out 😅
now that I think about it, if you take dandelion and mistranslate it into "dent de lion" in french, that's the litteral meaning of "lion's tooth/lion's fang"
I feel like you already know but it's quite funny that you thought that the Abyss Herald has a vision 😆 But visions are given by the gods, that they want to go against lol.

An hour and a half? Oh, this will be good. This will be VERY good!
Our sister's been farming berries for 500 years before waking us up
SIGMACHAD
You are great Arnold! You instantly tied the connection to that ruin guard! Lore lovers rules!!😁
It's a joy to watch this again hahaha, all your reactions are golden!!
"are they people?" well damn this guy know everything
6:37 and no more, there is a chad sick girl in the chasm who's surf with us kilometers beneath under the surface
It’s funny when arnold is looking for dain and he appears the next scene LUL, just like now and the recent stream
@MurderofBirds Gaming I don't know if you figured it out yet, but when Lumine said she was "going to war with destiny," that was a mis-translation. The actual line in Chinese (and Japanese) is: "going to war against The Heavenly Principles."
Also, I recommend seeking out Zach Aguilar's RUclips Channel.
It’s a pity that Lumine and Aether don’t speak, because their VA have beautiful voices
The fact this man added up the hillychurles used to be something too to have ties with the abyss… I’m sure this man wrote Genshin impact
10:18 this part was the first time Genshin genuinely scared me and made me feel uneasy, even after I turned the game off (it doesn’t take much, I’ll admit lmao). I knew something really crazy was going on with the story once I got here. Ahhh!
Did you notice back then what the field tiller was looking at? Most likely...what it was shooting at...werent' the people coming into the area.
A one and a half hour of lore gameplay when I wake up, man this feels like a breakfast in bed! I've been waiting for this!!! :D
Its so hard to imagine venti was like 'you cant get away from me
I think if there are elements for every region, than the last two ones have to be darkness and light.
And it is kinda obvious that the abyss includes shadows, the light may be the power of Khaenria'h...the dream to be dreamd
(Sorry to reply to an old comment 😅) I was thinking about this too! I had two thoughts on it:
I loved this quest it had me almost crying bc Aether really wanted to reunite with his sister
i was SO excited to see your reaction it's always amazing to hear your theories!! i manage to catch things i didn't get at first, no one does it like you so thank you a lot 🙏 best genshin content creator so far
lolol watching your commentary is so funny xD also revisiting old dain lore with all the new lore we got as of current really make me have crazy expectations for future dain content o_o!!
Sure there is no confirmation about the hilichurls (to my knowledge) but goddang man
Not me in 2023 hung up on Paimon saying flipping through books at 29:37…given what we know about allegory? *sighs* I love this game. 😂
Why don't we know about the research stuff we apparently have been doing? lmao
Damn, you're so spot on with the predictions lol
it's like watching someone with the lore knowledge of 1 year ahead playing the game 1 year ago. love it.
im so excited to watch this! i've always loved your videos, especially when you play the archon quests!!
OMG!! I can't believe it, I was looking forward to this video
You don’t know how long I’ve waited for this video!!!
I'm so glad this wasn't a two part thingy because it would've killed me- really excited for the story quests and we're definitely in for a ride because you'll learn more about them. plus the sick animations too . oh AND STANLEY FROM VENTI'S QUEST. OH BOY XDD
YESSSS ANOTHER VIDEO!! thank u for made my day, arnold!
My pleasure!! I'm glad you enjoy them! :)
i really appreciate how lore involved you are. the little details you recall & pick up on are things i would’ve gone the whole game missing & are very cool
Finally, the one we've been waiting for! It's so satisfying to see you call so many things in this video.
cant help but smile whenever arnold just gets hyped, also man called atleast 60% of the stuff that happened in this quest.
Arnold: *walks on a poisonous floor of darkness*
Also Arnold: Why am I dying!!??
Me: are you kidding me?
Oh gosh yesssss, finally. I love love love your videos coz your analysis and attention to lore is so good because i myself love the story
OMG.. been waiting for this one n i'm so glad it's a long one!! so excited to see ur reaction and hear ur thoughts n theories as always 😭😭 keep up the good work!! 💗
omg I've been waiting for this quest. You're one of my top favorite in genshin content creator, very entertaining as well.
Dem this is what I call a quality content. Watching your videos and live streams is so fun in lore wise. Love your content as always Arnold. Looking forward for more time capsule videos.
Finally! I'm so excited for this!
This quest was insaneee
I only just noticed the corruption thingy on Dain's neck... Was I blind?
Edit: Also, have you noticed that the Ruin Guard at Stormterror's lair is looking up directly at Celestia. Maybe it didn't shoot the missiles at approaching people, but at Celestia instead? Since it came al the way to the top of the tower. It seems to match with what the message at Dragonspine was saying (the 32-23 thingy)
@@ThePontiffofPonWolf The blue stuff on his arm is also on his neck. You can see it down by his ankle as well.
I love that as a day 1 player. These are old quests. It's no longer a spoiler for me. It also reminds me of things I forgot like why did we need the eye of the field tiller again?
1:07:34
I hope that the 8th element or when u got all 7 elements, the MC will be as strong as Meta characters right now or even stronger.
its like a reward for you by completing all these quest and then when every nation is release maybe something otherwordly planet or dimension that we deal with next..
but thats along time in the future.
I love how you predict the story pretty much all of the time lol. Enjoyed it :))
Thank you! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! :)
Hey Arnold can't wait to see you reaching the bottom of the Chasm.
It's way better than my expectations.
i had been waiting anxiously for this one!! i knew you would absolutely love this quest, just like I did.
@@MurderofBirdsImpact lucky. I forget half of the dialogue I read within two minutes.
I've been waiting for this! Thank you so much for uploading here on yt. Watching this before stepping into the new archon quest to refresh my memory 🤣.
I can't wait to see you doing the Chasm, and meeting with Dain again :3
This is what I've been waiting since you started the dainsleif quest
I love that MurderofBirds created this channel. He's my favorite in YT and twitch streamer. I am now watching his previous video on his twitch. You should subscribe and watch his streams. Like chat is very nice and meme'ing Arnold haha just don't give spoilers!
I really cant wait for past Arnold to play Venti's story quest. He keeps giving Stanley so much shit that it hurts.
Well, to be fair the REAL Stanley was a badass. Hans Archibald on the other way...
@@UberWraith but I believe past Arnold doesnt know that yet, unless I miss an episode.
i mean isn't that natural for everyone until after they finish the quest...?
I didn’t see any of the other archon’s powers/elements 😰
Edit: I was thinking a little more.
This man... someone turn his brain into pasty splatter, he's too big-brain.

I feel like you already know but it's quite funny that you thought that the Abyss Herald has a vision 😆 But visions are given by the gods, that they want to go against lol.
Rosaria:
Childe:
Scaramouche:
I don’t think the gods CHOOSE who the visions go to, they say so in their voice lines IIRC
Not the archons, but definitely the gods @@mimitogami
Dainsleif reminds me of diluc alot even he's voice sounds like him
If you are standing near by the Field Tille at 3 am,you will see Celestia is behind the moon.
This was a great one. Looking forward to your future videos, especially midsummer island and Inazuma.
Glad you like them!
