The camera work and production quality on this channel has improved hugely over the year, well done Dave.
Couldn’t agree more. The light work and slow pan on the chamfer was solid.
it sold out in 3 mins, i barely managed to get one , literally watched countdown and bought right when it hit zero , by the time i completed my purchase and got my confirmation code it was already sold out . 2 - 3 mins max for the aventurine just a heads up to anyone looking at these in the future .
I took the chance and bought a blacktip mop ti before they sold out(I think the mop watch will be the best of that bunch) . I was so impressed by the turquoise look of the mop that I finally gave in and bought one before they sold out. IMHO,the best of the new lineup and will handily beat out the aventurine in popularity !
I bought one too on the launch date. It is a striking color. It's going to be a perfect summer watch. Hope you love it when you get it.
I managed to buy one today. I wanted this dial. Have the aventurine dial on a 42 mm aurora. Stunning watch! The bracelet......meh. It sits on a bright orange canvas strap. Looks great on leather also. Watches are about having fun.
Excited to see the blacktip. Dont have one.
I tried to buy one, hit purchase within 30 seconds and they were gone, kind of weird on zelos part I think. But congrats on snagging one!
within a few minutes, this Aventurine model was ALL sold-out! Luckily, I got one!
The watch gods were with me, as I miraculously was able to get it in my cart and complete the transaction before it sold out. Will be watching the post with great eagerness. I’ve been wanting an aventurine dial and was waiting for just the right watch.
Same here I was at work refreshing it lmao I got one and they sold out 2 mins later
Congrats guys!
yup i got mine also i could not believe it when i did a refresh 4 min later and it was sold out
I just ordered the Frost variant of this one! Will be my first full lume dial watch ❤
Lately there has been a boom in Aventurine. From inexpensive AliExpress models to more expensive. These trends tend to reach over saturation points once that happens. Kudos to Elshan for trying new things to keep the interest flowing. I noticed no meteorite dials in this release. I have a feeling space rock is starting to crash and burn with demand for the same reason. I enjoyed the review man, thanks.
Damn. Another winner from Zelos. And I think $599 is a great price for what you are getting. Good luck to everyone who is going to attempt to get one!
It won't be difficult, the number of the production batches have been increased drastically in the last releases
It's a banger for that price. Zelos kill it almost every time.
In reality the launch price is 549 usd my friend, even better
@@squale9291 sold out in 2 minutes today. So much for not being difficult, eh? I, however did get one.
Your critique of Zelos was spot on. Maybe one day they will become a real watch company and actually make watches available for people to buy!
Plenty of watches available from this latest release. What are you talking about?
@waltwearswatches3056 How many watches are they selling?
It's understated but not without some very original and well-executed details! I like this one. A lot.
So i got one and i love it! Kinda comes down to what you like best though.
Looks like another great Zelos release. Fantastic review and camera work as usual 👏🏻
Great vid. What is a good example of one of their watches with the newer clasp?
I love this watch. I got one on launch day. And then grabbed a MOP too. I like the design of this watch. Great Review.
This one will sell out quickly, even at 400 pcs. I may try to buy this one. I have one of their watches with this dial. Really like it. Fun, playfull , colorful watch i wear on a strap. Got to love the different affordable watches they make.
Great review Dave. Thanks
great review. this might scratch my itch for a 62mas homage… very reminiscent, but not a copy. I do wonder whether the aventurine will be too blimey for me
You say there's no backplay on the bezel, but you can clearly see in the video the backward movement of the bezel as you turn it. I'd say my recent zelos purchase has the same behavior. If it isn't backplay, how would you frame this behavior?
Back play for me would mean that after the bezel has settled into place it can't be moved backwards, but only forward. What you're seeing in the video, and what happens on this watch, as well as many others, is that there's a high amount of tension required to move the bezel into the next "click," so if you release the bezel without overcoming that tension, it's going to spring back to the previous position and then lock in tightly. In other words, in the video I'm releasing the bezel in between the clicks, and the bezel spring is pulling it back to the locked position. Once it's there there is no play in the bezel backwards, and it can only be advanced forward.
Okay, between clicks, interesting. I have a helm with an amazing bezel and no extra movement forward or back. but the watch is smaller in diameter, this a smaller circumference for the bezel. with less space between 120 clicks it would be less prone to action like this than a larger watch with more 'space' between the 120 click positions. I'll have to keep an eye out for this on other watch sizes. thanks.

Thanks for the wonderful review Dave. The Blacktip looks very tempting but I think I'll just stick with the Mako line as they fit so well on my 7 inch wrist.
The Aventurine variant sold out in less than three minutes.
Love the vid - the case gives me early "skindiver" vibes (which I love). Thanks for the review(Your very good at making a topic like watches easy to understand)
Thanks for a great year, Dave!
That is a nice looking watch. The little indice under the date is different. Another hit by Zelos.
Shout-out for having noticed it like me, it seems to fly!
Nice looking watch. I still do not get the business model based on not producing enough product to satisfy demand having a portfolio of unavailable watches!! (Yes, I know Rolex also does this) Regards and Merry Christmas to all
I completely agree! What's maddening though, is that this business model seems to be working for them extremely well. By making extremely limited quantities, they have artificially created a demand for their watches. People think that because they are hard to get, there must be something special about them. Well there's not! These are just AliExpress level watches. Again, they're marketing has been genius. You have to give that to them.
Did they make the crown any larger this time? The v1 blacktip has a ridiculously small crown. I love mine but hate setting the time with my bear paws😂.
Crown is bigger on this model
Is that epoxy over the bezel? Wonder if it will eventually discolour
Make it 38mm and I’m in.
Excellent review and videography as always!
The great part about this watch is that even though it has an adventurine dial you can still read the time. Too often with these dials the hands get lost for the sake of the splashy dial (yup looking at you Christopher Ward).
I like this version's more squared off lugs. I had a teal v1 Blacktip but its rounded lugs made it look slightly awkward and bulbous to my eye. The lume strength is disappointing, but I may give this one a try!
Good video! I was pleasantly surprised by the bezel insert on this color way😊 I already own one Aventurine dial. I may look at a different color way this time. I do enjoy Zelos watches. They are well built, well thought out and typically a great value. To give the consumer a fighting chance, in addition to increasing production, they should limit the purchase to at least one per color way per transaction. I’m over flippers and their price gouging.
Have a Merry Christmas! John 3:16
How loud is the rotor? Previous 9015 movements I have had have had noisy uni-directional rotors which isn't my taste. It's a polarizing issue.
I'd say they over did it with the aventurine bezel lol. I'm watching this late so I won't buy it but what do you think about the new San Martin Aventurine?
Great review - the OG Blacktip is a spectacular fit on my wrist, so I’m hoping the lug shape changes on these don’t impact my enjoyment, but all the colorways this round are tempting. The thrill of getting one of these on launch day is always fun IMO.
Denny it has almost the same case structure of the blacktip gmt, so if you loved that one, you will fall in love with this one too, big plus the first affordable aventurine bezel of the history that I asked so much times to Elshan and now he finally made it, can't be more happy for this🌟
Nice looking watch. I bought a recent Zelos offering. It didn’t scratch the itch h I thought it would, but it’s a well-built spec monster…
I was about to skip ygis release from Zelos, but man, this particular model just strikes so deep ❤️
I'm waiting for a Zelos boutique to open near me, so I can be told that the watch I want is unavailable--it just feels better that way.
HaHa! That was brilliant! They really do want to be Rolex don't they. Make watches nobody can get!
@@sinjinadams2862 Well, thanks for the praise. What I forgot to mention is that there will be no waiting list at all.
This looks to be a stunning watch.
Not sure it's me, but great looking watch.
Thanks. Great video. The more I look, the more I want. Just hope to get one on the day,
Great video, production values better than ever. Nice watch, thanks for showing!
Merry Christmas. Thanks for the great videos.
i like your review, it's more objective, detailing some of the bad points. plenty of other youtubers only sing praise of Zelos like they are $10k holy grail with zero flaws
Nice! A navy Artem strap would look great on this watch.
Or exactly the same one bought directly from Ali for a fraction of the price.
The hour hand is terrible imo
Great review Dave. Gorgeous watch!
Does this movement have the loud Unidirectional rotor? Titanium isnt as good at isolating noise as SS.
If I didn't already have a purple Blacktip, meteorite Mako, and Selten with aventurine, I'd go for this one. Good luck, everyone.
I own a few Zelos watches. One of them is the Black Tip MOP GMT. I wanted to pass on this release since I already own a Black Tip but not so sure now. So many dive watches have ques from Rolex, Omega, Blancpain etc. The segment is saturated with them. Zelos tries to be different and thats what I really like about the brand. I also like that Zelos produces so few watches because of resale value, I have not sold mine but there is piece of mind if I ever do. Resale on the MOP sits at around 130% currently, not bad for a watch at this price point. With the increase in production this may change however.
I disagree completely. Zelos should not limit their production so that their already affordable watches increase in value. It's ridiculous, in my opinion.
When Zelos can decide on a core range, and stock them, I'll take them seriously as a brand.
PS - I own a Zelos.
@@max.loves.watches Not sure they can support the inventory carrying costs at this point and have enough cash flow to create a large inventory. A lot of microbrands work on this model for this reason. They have announced an increase in production and have a retail channel which is moving in the direction you prefer. Zelos had a QC issue which delayed shipment of the last release and also delayed future releases. They caught it early and because of the low volume and nothing was shipped yet, little damage was done, they did a fantastic job with full transparency from the CEO, most of the risk was averted. Once they can support at scale production the risks increase in many ways and need the financing and workflow to run smoothly. Ultimately I think they want to get there, carrying inventory, marketing, R&D, customer service, expand the retail platform etc. They can get there by profit or investors or selling the brand or a combination but they are not there yet.
This watch sold out in under a second, I had it in my cart within the space of 3 seconds and then was placed in a checkout queue. It then told me it sold out and that was it, very disappointing experience
Same for me!
I bought 2 zelos watches and ended up selling both- the brand just didn't vibe for me. For the same price I rather buy a vintage piece from a brand with history or a new Seiko or Orient.
I found them to be overhyped, the actual watches just don't live up to expectations...
The watch was gone in 2 min lol
Very nice . Yes .
HOLY SHIITAKE MUSHROOMS,
that thing is FREAKING
GORGEOUS COOL SPECTACULAR!!!
I’m just not feeling this watch. Those indices actually get in the way of the aventurine dial. It really is a material best suited for a dress watch not a tool watch, which this watch is clearly meany to be. I wouldn’t entertain this in my collection as it seems to have a problem with its identity!
The limited runs is to increase the fomo further to this not having any video reviews until hrs or minutes before release means you have allready bought the watch on fomo not knowing anything about it you cant see you dont want it. Whe n they do a larger run they don't sellout and they remain avalible for ages
@l8erzmonkey This review came out nearly a week before the release of the watch, so your point about timing is not accurate. If you don’t want it (or don’t know if you want it or not), I’d recommend not buying it rather than blaming someone else for somehow manipulating you into buying it. I don’t know you, but I’m pretty sure you can choose your actions.
Nice watch nice video
Sold out
Looks like JOMW Erebus watch
I've been waiting for a Zelos aventurine dial model and definitely would have bought this but for the aventurine bezel. For me, it's just too much and gives the watch a feminine appearance.
Fair play to Zelos for trying new things though
Don't get the attraction of aventurine, I think it makes a watch look cheap, that CW one looks like an Ali Express special
You need to see it on the CW in person. If you still think that afterwards then I'll be surprised. There are of course different levels of Aventurine, this Zelos I can kind of get what you're saying, it's not the best I've seen. I actually think it's the clumsy handset that cheapens the look.
I have a 42mm zelos with the aventurine dial. Took it off the only ok bracelet, and now having fun with different straps. You have to see the dial in person to appreciate it. It is quite spectacular!
@@Koishishibaman I love that they did the bezel insert in Aventurine too
@@DC-uf6veI used to think the handset looked clumsy in pictures too, until I got one in hand. In person it works very well, gives me Frank Lloyd Wright vibes.
You should have a look at some real life videos of the aventurine watches, on my channel you will see all the best ones in the world actually in different light conditions, I would really like to know what you think about them after seeing them 😄
Looking good but not for 599
It's actually 549 usd my friend
Looks like blue sandstone to me. Not so special imo. Unique sure.
The being special factor is caused by the fact that before this watch the only aventurine watch with an aventurine insert in the bezel was the Rolex Submariner Date 'Sea Shepherd' by Artisans De Genève, marking over 50k, I asked Elshan to realize it so that everyone could have the possibility of owning this type of bezel and he actually done it, can't be more proud of it and of him that always hears the suggestions of the Zelos friends
I get ya, I wasn't aware of the context. It's beautiful for sure though.@@morethanawatch-piucheunoro3364
They're all gone now. Feck it!
Nope, this is not gonna work for me.
Venezianicho dis it way better
Will Zelos ever ditch this tired model of batch releases and elevate themselves to become a real watch brand with a consistent, available lineup? Seriously...take the plunge and stop with this Mickey Mouse crap. I think Zelos has a big enough following to make it work, and hell, it sounds like Jody is trying to pull it off. After the last few years, it's hard for me to take any brand that supports this model seriously. Call it microbrand fatigue, maybe.
Edit/PS - I own a Zelos.
Exactly! Maybe become a real watch company and actually make watches people can buy!
Did it ever occur to you that they are exactly as large as they want to be? Inconvenient for you perhaps, but clearly Elshan doesn’t want to expand. I could expand from one restaurant to four and make more money but that’s not the lifestyle I want. I don’t owe anyone a larger company.
@waltwearswatches3056 Yes, I think you're exactly right. They are as big as they want to be and there is nothing wrong with that. Their business model has worked brilliantly for them. People think that because their watches are very hard to obtain, that there must be something special about them. The dirty little secret is there's not. They're just high end AliExpress level watches. The only difference is San Martin make thousands of watches that are available to anyone that wants one. Zelos only makes a couple hundred, sometimes more so it can be very difficult to get one. They've created a brilliant business model that is working for them but I don't have to like it. 😊
@@waltwearswatches3056well said! And I enjoy my Zelos products 😉
putting aventurine on bezel considered innovation? i guess there's no more innovation in watches.
lol find someone else that has done it. I’ll wait.
@@xdognatex9897 is it innovation? i say it's not.
Doing something that no one has done before is not innovation? O…K.
@@chickenporkadob0 You might not like it but it is innovation. Nobody has done it before so its innovation. Here is the definition of innovation. 1: a new idea, method, or device : NOVELTY 2 : the introduction of something new
It's innovation on the affordable side because before this was the only way to own an bezel with an aventurine insert was by owning the Rolex Submariner Date 'Sea Shepherd' by Artisans De Genève marking over 50k but not so many people know actually also of its existence, so this is why he talks about innovation in a pure sense 😄. I am proud of having asked Elshan to make it so that everyone could own an aventurine watch with an aventurine insert on the bezel. Also, do you have a small idea of how difficult is working the aventurine, so brittle by nature being glass, in a so thin surface like the one of the insert of a bezel? We should just apprecciate his work, trust me 😁
