I can spend 2 hours watching you playing a slow paced game, talking about very relatable life stuff and actually calm my brain down. 🙏 It helps me calm down, motivates me to focus on the good stuff in life instead of complaining about not so bad stuff. One of the reasons people love you so much is because of how you TALK to us, the viewers. it's way more refreshing to have a much more calm video where it's almost like a podcast with gameplay, i prefer your videos over other youtubers because you're insanely genuine with what you do, nothing's essentially scripted like every other "100 days in hardcore survival!!", where they're always over the top and super energetic, and that's good! your calm gameplay and deep talks just keeps the attention far more
Would love to see an extended series instead of starting over every time. Could even add a modpack for more late game progression if you're worried about long term goals. Your channel has been a great find though man. Congrats on following the dream. Much love from the UK.
32:26 I love bundles for exploring man. It’s so nice when you have like 3 of 8 different types of seeds each taking up a lot of inventory slots, you can just shove it in a bundle, have it take up only 1, and still have room left over. I mean you even say not 5 seconds later how your inventory is so full. You could’ve shoved all that food in a bundle and freed up some inventory space.

You should try making this a long term world by when you get bored, you leave all your stuff and start fresh somewhere else in the same world. It makes for a truly amazing world in the end.
For me (even though I'm pretty new to the channel) what I love about Flowstate is the chill vibes and I feel like, while Hardcore does up stakes and keep things interesting in its own way, I really like that I can just put a video on in the BG and just vibe and not have the stress of whether or not the world is about to disappear. Just vibes.
I would like to see this world continue. And about the lying that you don't care, when you actually do care. I feel like it is often self protection. I can only be myself near people I really trust. So if there are people around me that I don't trust, completely, I will pretend that I am fine. Because you are really vulnerable if you do show what you really feel.

I think an interesting thing to think about from a business perspective around series based content is retention of existing viewers vs new viewers. With a series yes it requires more investment to get into for a new viewer but then once a viewer commits they are much more invested to the series and more likely to keep coming back. Its part of the reason why the hermits can make series content for 10+ years and pull good viewership, because they have a captive audience that they have built slowly over that time. I think a good mix is healthy and I really like your idea to make the series very easy to get into. One thing that could be neat is a Red Dead Redemtion style journal where you go over what you did last time and include a few visuals of those things.
The reason you've been growing so quickly is because of your unique, relaxed, "chillin' with the boys" energy and the super longform suits it perfectly. Maybe we first clicked on the channel for Minecraft, but we subscribed and stayed for flowstate. Do it your way 🫡
I love the survival play through more than the hardcore, and if you ever get bored of normal survival, you could always do some sort of “random spawn location” upon death so you’re always somewhere new in one world, and as you play through and die you come across things you hadn’t seen in episodes
I like how you're doing alot of "fresh start" or "building with no plan" videos to give a perspective of how you would go about survival mode with the different worlds.
If it hasn't been mentioned yet, I recommend adding a mod that adds 'sleeping bags'. they let you sleep through the night and won't change your spawn point at your bed (very handy for multiplayer too). Love the long videos as I play on my own world, so calming and helps me stay focused :D
20:49 It's the 3D vines from the vanilla tweaks resource pack that's causing the lag. You can delete the 3D vines from the resource pack without needing to go to the vanilla tweaks website and select the features you want all over again by opening your resource packs folder, opening vanilla tweaks, assets, minecraft, textures, block, then finding vines and deleting it. If you'd like, you could also delete 3D glow lichen (which is found in the same spot as the vines) as that can cause some lag when in large quantities too. Hope you found this helpful!

And so I'm almost there, and I can almost get a good PC, i can't wait to be able to play Minecraft like you can. I would normally be on like 20 or 30 fps constantly and that's no fun im so glad i found the motivation I feel like your videos help me with that.

Nah I 100% agree, I cant go back to vanilla minecraft anymore. Shaders and mods have just spoiled me so much that the base game doesnt really feel either fun or like Minecraft anymore.
as someone who recently started watching your content, the one thing I've really liked was the fact that you had real conversations i like to have with important people in my life, and it is a big reason I've kept watching. I also admire the fact that you move through the game more slow, as all my life minecraft has mostly been about who can build the biggest building and get the best gear, and the change in pace is refreshing.

As far as comparison goes, I think that is just awareness for the room you have to grow. Stress isn't inherently a bad thing. It's a response to pressure. It just proves you have ambition and drive to keep ascending. Also, I think many high schools will have reunions after a few decades so people can see what everyone has done.
Coming from someone who doesn't minecraft themselves, but enjoys watching other people play, your videos are the best that I've come across to put on when I am working on my art. They're chill and calming, and very enjoyable! I look forward to another installment of this! It's really cool!
Thanks for the video. Edit : About the rent stuff, Personally i live in Turkey and its quite harsh. Rents are stupidly high. Economy is crashing down with the populations happiness. It's quite hard to live in a low-middle class family like mine, but Turkey in general finds a way to still find fragments of happiness through tough times which i am amazed for it.
I like the idea of an episodic series with the episodes being 2-ish hours long. I personally enjoy the 2 hour videos, they are excellent to play while I work and fun to watch in general. If you do decide to start an episodic series it would be fun to watch the progression over time. All in your time of course. Amazing content once again!
I feel like when it comes to minecraft content creators you're the first to really strike inspiration to pick up the game again and try new things and stuff. It's super cool to see, you really make minecraft seem fun and new again.

As someone who really struggles with sleeping these videos are just so relaxing they just put me to sleep almost immediately. this video and the idea of like, nomadic homing, and moving bases has inspired me in my recent survival world after years of not playing. i started my first base in a mountainous area and then moved to a flatter area next to a village which,, is just a short horse-ride from my first base BUT its a different place!! and next to a cave, and a beach/pond thing! its great
ive been following along with my own hardcore on this pack, and im level 150 the best way ive seen to gain xp: early game - woodcutting and fishing, later on trading the wood (sticks) for emeralds with level 20 trader perk it makes me gain a level each time my villagers restock (12+ fletchers, very easy to make a villager area when you have carry mod)

Honestly my favorite part about Minecraft is exploring. After I explore and make a starter base i already get bored of it so the next day i just make another word and start exploring :)
I just got to the point in the video where you inquired about Canada. I can't compare anything to the US, but things aren't great here, but out west it's definitely not the end of the world either. I don't see the outlook of me owning a home being very good right now, but I also don't think that it is a forever problem. I've been looking at apartments in a small neighboring city from my hometown, a single bedroom can be pulled for right around $1000/month if you're not picky. The real issue is the labor market right now. Our national population grew by over 3 million people in the last few years. Our infrastructure and economy cannot handle that influx, and I think that is a large portion of the housing crisis and labor market. Any unskilled worker, high school student, college student, and recent graduates are competing with hundreds of people who were not there before. It's rare to walk into a place and actually see a teenager working there, as most of those jobs have been filled by recent immigrants. I also live in a more northern region of my province, so we typically get long and cold winters. So to buy a home, you also have to consider that 6 months of the year you are going to be paying a lot more money to heat said home. You also have to let your car idle every morning during that period of time, and most people prefer to have 4x4 because of the winter so you probably have a truck with a big engine, and for most people it's not practical to have a different car to drive in the summer, so you're going to be buying more fuel even in the summer. With all of that said, one of my best friends just bought a house. We're both 23, were placed together as dormmates in university. I went back to driving truck, he finished his degree. I bought a new truck, and he bought an acreage. If you are fiscally responsible (not me), you can navigate the market here. Also, this was the first video of yours I watched! I love the laidback way you talk about so many topics and your perspective on these things, it was both stimulating and relaxing. Very awesome video, I'll be coming back for more content for sure.

The trees don't get cut sometimes because of leaf detection. If there are no leaf blocks connected to the tree itself, it won't get chopped down. You can disable it in settings, but then buildings will be affected aswell, if they contain logs.
*Watches for 3 seconds* mega taiga is its own type of beautiful with shaders. 1:56:34 There is a sleeping bag mod. Would recommend. It doesn't set your spawn at the sleeping bag but you can sleep through the night. Can keep a bed at your base and respawn there!

To help with the microphone, a simple(ish) trick I have learned is to just walk/pace around and live your daily routine but hold the microphone in front of you like if you were recording. I used a headset on my helmet a lot for work and it helped me get over some of the stiffness or the shot of anxiety of having the mic on you. You perform how you practice, so if you practice with the mice close to your mouth it'll feel more natural once at the PC. It won't always work/help, but it can take the edge off I found.

Thanks for the video. Edit : About the rent stuff, Personally i live in Turkey and its quite harsh. Rents are stupidly high. Economy is crashing down with the populations happiness. It's quite hard to live in a low-middle class family like mine, but Turkey in general finds a way to still find fragments of happiness through tough times which i am amazed for it.
Please don't stop doing survival. I love all of your survival videos and binge them whenever they pop up.

I like the idea of an episodic series with the episodes being 2-ish hours long. I personally enjoy the 2 hour videos, they are excellent to play while I work and fun to watch in general. If you do decide to start an episodic series it would be fun to watch the progression over time. All in your time of course. Amazing content once again!
I feel like when it comes to minecraft content creators you're the first to really strike inspiration to pick up the game again and try new things and stuff. It's super cool to see, you really make minecraft seem fun and new again.

As someone who really struggles with sleeping these videos are just so relaxing they just put me to sleep almost immediately. When I am awake and watching properly I always feel so immersed and the tiny details like your voice echoing in caves. I love that

this video and the idea of like, nomadic homing, and moving bases has inspired me in my recent survival world after years of not playing.
i started my first base in a mountainous area and then moved to a flatter area next to a village which,, is just a short horse-ride from my first base BUT its a different place!! and next to a cave, and a beach/pond thing! its great
ive been following along with my own hardcore on this pack, and im level 150 the best way ive seen to gain xp: early game - woodcutting and fishing, later on trading the wood (sticks) for emeralds with level 20 trader perk it makes me gain a level each time my villagers restock (12+ fletchers, very easy to make a villager area when you have carry mod)
Me and my boyfriend over watching your videos… it’s so peaceful and definitely lifts are spirits after a hard day. Also i just calms my ADHD brain lol.

Honestly my favorite part about Minecraft is exploring. After I explore and make a starter base i already get bored of it so the next day i just make another word and start exploring :)
I just got to the point in the video where you inquired about Canada. I can't compare anything to the US, but things aren't great here, but out west it's definitely not the end of the world either. I don't see the outlook of me owning a home being very good right now, but I also don't think that it is a forever problem. I've been looking at apartments in a small neighboring city from my hometown, a single bedroom can be pulled for right around $1000/month if you're not picky. The real issue is the labor market right now. Our national population grew by over 3 million people in the last few years. Our infrastructure and economy cannot handle that influx, and I think that is a large portion of the housing crisis and labor market. Any unskilled worker, high school student, college student, and recent graduates are competing with hundreds of people who were not there before. It's rare to walk into a place and actually see a teenager working there, as most of those jobs have been filled by recent immigrants.
I also live in a more northern region of my province, so we typically get long and cold winters. So to buy a home, you also have to consider that 6 months of the year you are going to be paying a lot more money to heat said home. You also have to let your car idle every morning during that period of time, and most people prefer to have 4x4 because of the winter so you probably have a truck with a big engine, and for most people it's not practical to have a different car to drive in the summer, so you're going to be buying more fuel even in the summer.
With all of that said, one of my best friends just bought a house. We're both 23, were placed together as dormmates in university. I went back to driving truck, he finished his degree. I bought a new truck, and he bought an acreage. If you are fiscally responsible (not me), you can navigate the market here.
Also, this was the first video of yours I watched! I love the laidback way you talk about so many topics and your perspective on these things, it was both stimulating and relaxing. Very awesome video, I'll be coming back for more content for sure.

The trees don't get cut sometimes because of leaf detection. If there are no leaf blocks connected to the tree itself, it won't get chopped down. You can disable it in settings, but then buildings will be affected aswell, if they contain logs.

1:56:34 There is a sleeping bag mod. Would recommend. It doesn't set your spawn at the sleeping bag but you can sleep through the night. Can keep a bed at your base and respawn there!

@flowstate also recommend adding a mod for a bedroll which would solve your bed/spawn issue
To help with the microphone, a simple(ish) trick I have learned is to just walk/pace around and live your daily routine but hold the microphone in front of you like if you were recording. I used a headset on my helmet a lot for work and it helped me get over some of the stiffness or the shot of anxiety of having the mic on you. You perform how you practice, so if you practice with the mice close to your mouth it'll feel more natural once at the PC. It won't always work/help, but it can take the edge off I found.
