Dragonelis I'm obviously gonna keep him at a distance if I don't feel comfy about getting too close, and yes, headshots works, it's in that sort of situation you need to move a lot and mess up his aim. Also, I'm practically immune to any stabs that involves jumping over my head =) It's sorta hard coded into my subconcious by now to not let it happen, and when it does, it'll be the first time in a LONG time.

Why whenever i see someone else play and they get a backstab their knife does the normal slash animation and not the backstab animation? In my game it always does the normal bckstb anmtn even on quick stabs like trickstabs stairstabs etc.

Spy is my 3rd played class. I love the scripts you and your acquaintances made. Invisible Amby viewmodel is just amazing. I had to fix my cousin's scripts since he didn't quite get to fully editing his other classes.

To answer your first question, Yes, smoke and sound still does appear but only if you cloak right after disguise, it will not make a sound or smoke if you do it when already fully invisible.

He snapped around faster than the Pyro was able to turn to him, thus exposing the Pyro's back for a stab. Watch it a few times again and you'll understand.
I think he uses Scout sometimes because it is a smallest model and harder to see with peripheral vision. I've also found that in pubs, jumping around as scout can help you seem more believable. Especially when they are not looking directly at you.
Besides the speed differences being an obvious tell (not so obvious for a good spy), the Scout is pretty much the best class to disguise as. Smaller physically (head is located in the Spy's chest) and harder to keep track of.
the backstabbing animation only happens when random crits are enabled; they never are in highlander lobbies so his stabs look like normal attacks (the kill icon also doesn't have a crit glow). you can't start a backstab before getting into melee range (I assume that's what you meant) because, unlike other melee weapons, the knife attack happens instantly when you click, there isn't any 'windup' time.
I'm just amazed at how he can do all these trick stabs so swiftly with out fault. When I do them I have 75% of getting it cause of like me landing on top of their head or a little to far away from them and end up having to back away. Good job
He plays highlander, which is 1 of every class. And in comp, since there are teams, people have to sign up as spy. I don't think someone would make a long-time commitment to playing spy if they weren't main, so they're probably pretty common. Also, stabby is a main spy. He has like 4000+ hours on spy.
The scout has a small viewmodel. Using it you can sneak around quite a bit. Also, if you're good at acting, with backpedaling and jumping you can pull off the disguise quite well.
because in highlander, crits are disabled, and the regular backstab animation that most people see is the critical animation, whereas the non-critical animation just looks like a regular swipe with the knife

not a lot people do this but when your a spy and you lost the end you can still disguise with B, helps you staying alive when you lose ^^

Sidestabs are read automatically as backstabs, even though you sometimes don't see a backstab animation.
Yeah, but I can never just go up to the side of a person and get an instakill. Do you have to be strafing while you stab?
