You are a true inspiration for all of us to pursue the dreams, wild thoughts, and travel calling we experience to have. Lately I have been struggling with life and the thought if I should quit my job and go after my calling. Your videos truly help ease the stress I experience from making this decision. Thank you so much for sharing and wishing you the best.
That's a lovely comment, thank you! Sadly, I can't advise if going after your calling is the right decision for you, but I can wish you every luck in whatever you decide to do in the future. After all, we only have one life, and it is down to us to make the best of it, and in whatever circumstances that we find ourselves. Take care, Paul.
Thank you Watto! Yes it is blessed with some excellent pubs and inns - a legacy from trade on the River Severn. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍🙂 Cheers Paul
Thank you Donna! Glad you enjoyed the video and the photos. Yes, it is a lovely town, and I thought I'd take advantage of the weather, the flowers and the festival that had just happened to see the town at its best. Take care, Paul.
Hello Paul - greetings from Poland This is a very emotional vlog for me - I have completed my journey right through all your videos, from the steps in Dartmouth to Upton-upon-Severn. This town tour was lovely. Your still photographs were gorgeous. A gorgeous video. Thanks so much for posting it.
Thank you Michael - and thank you for sticking with the journey on my channel since the very beginning. I have part six of The Severn Way landing tomorrow (Monday). Hope you had a great weekend. Take care, Paul 🙂👍
Hi Roy! Glad you enjoyed it - yes, it is a lovely town, and less than half an hour from where I live, as long as the M5 is behaving itself! I like exploring the shops here - I find friendly and relaxing. Take care, Paul 🙂👍
Thank you Ron! Glad you enjoyed it. One of my favourite towns, in probably what is my favourite county. More from Worcestershire coming soon....Hope you are OK. Take care, Paul.
Excellent video, what a great town. I particularly liked the pepper pot clock tower & the colour of the church stone. The river was quite low, but quite scary being in an area that floods. I visited Cockermouth in the Lake District recently & the marking on the main street, for the floods a few years ago, came just under my eyes, not great.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video! Yes, I remember those floods in Cockermouth being on the news - awful! It is very rare for the fields to not flood around Upton each season, but, thankfully the flood prevention measures in towns like Upton, Bewdley and Tewkesbury are better than they were, but not perfect so, sadly, some homes still get affected. Thanks again, Paul.
Thanks Paul. I enjoyed your video. It was just the right length and it was also great to get away from the traffic and have photos and music. Upton looks very charming. We lived in Womborne (South Staffs) some years ago and visited Bewdley and Stourport on Severn. I also looked up Admiral William Tennant and the evacuation of Dunkirk. Thanks :)😊
Thank you Cathy! Yes, I will be covering both Bewdley and Stourport as I work my way south along the Severn Way. Yes, Admiral William Tennant was quite a hero. Traffic noise, and traffic, can be a real bind when filming and photographing towns. I think my approach here tried to reduced the worst affects of that. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Paul 👍🙂
@@cathydyer3774 That's very kind of you Cathy. Sadly, I'm a bit of a perfectionist - it is why I have such difficulty in the outside world - as jobs these days are all about speed (including, I notice, a lot of mainstream TV) , and not how good the job is. I am a long way off as to where I want to be yet, (in terms of being happy with the quality and technical aspects my videos) but I keep trying! Your comment means a lot to me. Thank you Cathy.
@@westcountrywanderings yes Paul I see what you mean. It may help to know that no one is perfect and aiming for perfection can cause disappointment. What you do is great. As a viewer I am in the happy position that I can watch things that interest me and can fast forward things that are not my scene. As long as you enjoy what you do, that is what matters and always give yourself a pat on the back after each video, as I have started to realise what skills are involved in creating these videos. 😊👏👏.
Hiya, as a local I need to say you were actually walking the flood banks not the railtrack as you thought, if you had looked behind you would have seen the old line existing embankment which then goes past Clive's Fruit Farm and onwards to Malvern. The line ran from this embankment direct to the old railway station, which was behind where the modern fire station is now.
Thank you so much, and thank you for the subscribe too. My channel covers the wider Westcountry, from the tip of Lands End to where Worcestershire borders the West Midlands - I have created a seperate playlist for Worcestershire - which is my favourite county in the region that I cover, but I like something in all of them, and have lived (and still do - Gloucestershire currently) in some of them. Thanks again, Paul.

Upton is a lovely place. I remember doing some refit work in the plough some years back after a flood. Enjoyed the photos. Good tour. 👍🏻🚶🏻♂️🚶♀️

The Regal Garage ( 10:49 ) still has a delicious, old-fashioned look to it.
Yes, it has! I believe it was the town's former cinema. Not self-service either! Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers, Paul.
