I'm just starting to listen to hip hop after a friend turned me on to the current crop of truly great female rappers (I know there have been greats for longer). Anyway, mainly tracks like this are a confidence booster for me, but they also open a window into the inner life of black women that I would otherwise not have and it's a lot. I lost my mother 4 months ago, have severe anxiety, and this song has been on repeat everyday on the way home from work. I could only take 3 days off after her loss & ask myself everyday how I even manage, but they’re not lying when they say music can be therapeutic. @Megantheestallion you are a talented, beautiful woman, and I hope you continue to heal.
