- Join me as I head out to photograph the almost full Hunter's moon for the month of October. I show how I plan a shot of the moon rising over Rivington Pike before heading out there to see if I can catch it.
What great pictures you have taken Stephen, so clear.xxxx
Thanks Jean 🙏
Really great moonshots - so nice to have a unique foreground.
Indeed!
Absolutely fantastic shot and to get those people in it has well was amazing ty for another brilliant video 😊
Thanks Julie. It was a mad rush to get photo in the end. Glad those people were up there, as they really added to the shot.
@@starman1969 and congratulations for getting on the front cover of the paper well deserved 👏 x
Wow spectacular!!!!!
Definitely one of the best photographs of the moon I have ever seen well done 👌😉
Thanks David. I was very pleased to get it.
stunning photo, takes a lot of time and effort to produce something so beautiful, I have never been good at night time photography getting the exposure right ect
I love how you can even make out the craters on the north west side of the moon! Love this shot.
Yeah it was amazing.
Finally have some free time so spending it wisely and catching up on my favourite RUclipsr Starman 🤩 That photo of the moon is amazing! Thank you for posting this video😘😘 xxx
Woo hoo! Thanks Maria xx
Absolutely fantastic video Stephen just showed it to my wife you were filming at Anderton which is about 2 miles from us,that area is supposedly haunted by a monk according to legend with many so called sightings !!!!
Wowsers. I didn’t see any ghosts in the dark, luckily John.
Fantastic shots Stephen the moon is definitely bright just now, thanks, I'm sharing this with my granddaughter who's started enjoying photography, especially the sky
Thanks Hazel. Glad to hear your granddaughter is interested.
@@starman1969 hi stephen, Jupiter is very visible tonight and the big bright moons just coming up over the treece opposite us, looks amazing.
Nice shot Stephen, thanks for taking us along in the StarBus.
It's not called the starbus for nothing Jay. It literally takes us to them, or at least somewhere dark enough to see them lol.
I live about 10 minutes walk from here and missed it ! hopefully catch it from my garden tonight !
Let me know if you saw it.
Lovely picture Stephen and you got the people in their too
Thanks Jacqueline. It was great that those people were up there.
That has to be one of your best moon shots, ever.
And an ISO of 1,000?
Excellent effort. 😀
Yes I had to bump it up otherwise I might have got movement blur due to the moon’s movement whilst out at 600mm
Great video! You really got me along with the excitement!
Thanks.
Stephen, that was a great shot, so detailed , worth the wait ! 👍
Thanks.
Brilliant !
Thanks Mike.
Brilliant photos! It was definitely a nice time observing the Moon & Jupiter close together last night 👍
Thanks.
Superb Capture Starman
Thanks Chris.
Brilliant photo
So the bright star above the moon is Jupiter!!!?? . I saw it yesterday and did wonder if it was or not.
Yes it was, but Jupiter will be around all winter. It just happened to appear close to the moon last night.
Great captures, well done
Thanks Andrew.
Brilliant Stephen, wish I’d looked into this, as you know I’m very near to Rivington and know the exact spot you were at. I’m just wondering whether or not you were nearer to Rivington Village you would have got a better shot with the angle being a bit steeper? I mean, I’m taking a guess but you know what you’re doing much more than I do mate.
I used to have that Photographers Ephemeral, whatever it’s called, on my home but they stopped it for Android, I’ve since got PhotoPils but struggle to use it, not as easy as the other one.
Anyway, even though I’ve not yet tried much Astrophotography, your videos are giving me not only ideas but some excellent, money can’t buy info, I really appreciate videos like that. Thanks.
Glad to hear that Brian. I was better off where I was, because if I was in Rivington Village, the steeper angle would have meant the moon wouldn’t get above the hill until much later.
@@starman1969 Ok, thanks for that Stephen, something else I’ve learnt.
Have you ever heard of lenticular pictures ? I got one on the prom the other week and though how aint anyone supplying images of the tower etc un these types of prints.
Years ago they had motorised waterfall ones in all the pound shops not sure how they work id like to have a taredown on one.
Never heard of them.
Hi Stephen
Hello Jay
Do you have an exact location I could use to try and capture the moon over the Pike please
The location will always be different because the moon never rises in the same direction from month to month. The only thing I can advise is to be on, or near the main road on the western side of the reservoirs.
Hi to all from helen
