Steve, what you explored most was the Railway compound. Ebute Metta is divided into two parts, the West and the East. You did the West. The East starts from Mainland Hotel (by the bus terminus), Oyingbo Market through to Cemetery Rd ( where Redeemed church Hq is)/Herbert Macaulay street and all the way to Sabo Market/Police Station from where Yaba starts. As you ride along Herbert Macaulay, you will pass through Kano, Ibadan, Jebba, Abeokuta Streets, Simpson Street, Cemetery Rd, Adekunle, Old Yaba Rd, Borno Rd, Olonode, Hughes Ave, Commercial Avenue into Murtala Mohammed Way (old Clifford Rd) where the new railway station is sited and back to Oyingbo. Please always endeavor to do some historical research to identify important landmarks in the areas visited and a good map of the different parts of Lagos before embarking on the trip for guidance. Kudos and well done
Your comment brought back many memories for me. I lived in the area during the 60s/70s namely Simpson and Olonode street, I know all the streets you mentioned. Back then Borneo Way was known as Wakeman Street. Thank you for giving a very good description of Ebute Metta, well appreciated..
Steve, we watch every night. Thank you so much. My husband is from Lagos, Nigeria, so he really love seeing different places old and new street in the Mushin area. Safe travel. We pray the God will be with always.
