- Changed the mounting from the indianaftermarket version to the Indian quick release trunk base part #2882297. The base is meant for the leather trunk from Indian, but works amazingly well with the Advanblack Chopped Tour Pack.
Great video Paul. Is there any way, I could see a picture of the inside of the trunk. Would like to see where you drilled your holes and the way you did it.
I would really like to see this too
I agree, it looks amazing. Very nice job.
Thank you so much for your video and the information you shared!
This touring pack looks awesome installed. But the bottom of the Advan Black trunks are not completely flat there recessed in the middle in a weird way because of the way Harley designed their bases. I just dont understand how you got this to fit.
Hi Darrius, with the Indian mount assembly that I used, the recessed portion of the pack wasn't wide enough to impact the overall mounting. The hole pattern to match the mount required drilling and the use of some large washers in place of the metal plate that usually sits on the inside of the Advanblack pack. The holes were just outside the recessed portion requiring the washers to be shaped to fit the curve of the recess on the inside. It is tricky, but if you line it up to where it is a stable mounting pattern, it works great!
looks sweet dude!
Did you have to add anything by the bags or did the quick release bracket attach to sock equipment? Just got mine and want to make sure I do t have to buy anything extra to put it on the bike
If you used the Advanblack quick release bracket you may need to take off the plastic bushings on the Indian saddle bag mounting posts unless they changed that. The Indian bracket required me to pick up some extra bolts from a hardware store to mount the trunk to the bracket as described in the video. Good luck!
Was this tour pack the black denim / flat black one intended for harley street Glyde and you just used the factory Indian quick release trunk mount? If so did the pack mount right to the quick release rack with no mods or did it require drilling holes in rack/ pack? Also does the color match your factory dark horse paint? Anyway you would attach a link to the pack you purchased? I just bought the same bike you have and that setup looks good. Thanks for the post.
You are correct, it is the black denim version of the Rushmore Chopped Tour Pack. It matches the Indian Thunder Black Smoke great. I did have to drill new holes in the tour pack to match the Indian base, but that was minor. Here's a link to the exact tour pack. www.advanblack.com/harley-tour-pak-luggage/chopped-tour-pak-luggage/chopped-tour-pak-color-matched-14-later-harley-touring-street-electra-road-glide.html
Love the video where did you get everything from model number
Hi Donald, the pack is from Advanblack and is for Harley Davidson. Advanblack will be releasing Indian tour packs shortly in matching Indian colors. Stay tuned because I will post a video soon detailing that. Thanks!
Paul, Advanblack’s website lists the width of the tour pack in the area of 21” but all other tour packs whether eBay or Amazon or ProPad, etc. list a 27” width. Are the Advanblacks really that much narrower? Thanks in advance
Hi Lynn, the width on the Advanblack tour pack in my video is closer to 26" at the widest point.
Paul Horn thanks for the quick reply.
@@PHEnterprises a second question, Advanblack appears to have a metal insert plate and the bottom of the tour pack pre-drilled to mount on the rack. All of the tour packs are listed for H-D models. Was yours pre-drilled and how did it match with your rack? I don't think the rack you used is available from Indian anymore, and I am considering a rack built by SkyyFire Industries. Thanks again!!
@@videobandit you will need to drill the Advanblack tour pack to match whatever mounting holes are on the bracket that you mate it up to. The Indian version that I use has a different bolt pattern than the Harley Davidson mounting plate. This is easy to do since it's easily drilled plastic material. It also allows you to customize the position of it on the bracket to where you prefer. I used some large washers on the mounting bolts to add strength to the mounts since they were outside of the metal plate provided.
@@PHEnterprises I assumed that to be the case. One of the things I liked about the Advanblack was the bolt down reinforcing plate as standard, but that may not even be usable then for Indian applications. So guess back to my other option of the tour pack and mount thru ProPad. Complete chopped tour pack and detachable mount with inner liner and backrest pad is $999 minus a 10% discount I have, as a good but cheapest solution. Thanks again for all your answers and help!!
That is awesome
Did you utilize the metal plate that comes with the Advan? If so did you have to drill additional holes in it as well? If so what size? Thanks
I removed the metal plate and used large washers instead. I had to drill new holes in the AdvanBlack to match the mounting base.
@@PHEnterprises Awesome Paul! Thanks for the swift response I am about to pull the trigger on this and I just want to make sure I am doing things the right way!
Hello that’s a nice looking chieftain, can you please tell me where you got the drivers back rest from or send me the link.

Thank you
@@PHEnterprises how do you like the back rest? & was it hard to install?
@@bikerbrass7533 I love the backrest. It was easy to install. I picked it up from www.bigbikeparts.com/templates/product.aspx?ProductGuid=30-208&GroupGuid=9235
@@PHEnterprises ok thank you. ordering one right now
I didn't quite understand this installation @ first as that chopped tour pack and seemingly all AdvanBlack products are engineered for hogs as their website does not list Indian bikes at all. But you're saying that you got it to fit you Chieftain perfectly by using the mounting from the indianaftermarket version to the Indian quick release trunk base part #2882297. www.advanblack.com/harley-tour-pak-luggage/chopped-tour-pak-luggage/vivid-black-rushmore-chopped-tour-pak-pad-14-later-harley-touring-street-electra-road-glide.html
I really like this mod and the look of the choller trunk. Can you make a detailed list of parts or is that one part listed all that is needed? Where can I buy it?
Hi Jeff, other than the tour pack, you will need a base. I used the one from Indian that is used with the Indian leather trunk.
www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/shop/accessories/trunks/2882297/
Other than the tour pack and base, you will need four bolts and some washers to mount it up that you could get from your local hardware store. You will need to drill new holes in the tour pack to match the bolt pattern in the Indian base. Set the tour pack on the base and align it to your taste, then mark the holes and drill.
Any ideas where I can find that quick release trunk part, I believe its discontinued.
That's unfortunate that they discontinued the base. I wonder if this one would work? You might have to remove the bar that wraps around the back of it. www.indianmotorcycle.com/en-us/shop/accessories/trunks/2884048-156/
Thanks for the info Paul ☺️☺️☺️
@@PHEnterprises do that base look like the one you got just with out the bar?
@@bikerbrass7533 It is similar, but not exactly the same from what I can tell.
What size bolts did you say please
8mm 1.25 thread and added some large washers to them on the inside of the tour pack.
It would be nice if you showed more of the tour pack that you are talking about instead of your face so much🤙
Yeah, I'm not too savvy at the video thing I guess. Sorry for the poor content bud.
@@PHEnterprises No worries I still enjoyed it just try to focus on what you’re talking about and not shoot in the camera on yourself L0 l 😉
