It's better than in Germany, were in one case I saw on RUclips the German public television remained on the air for a couple of Minutes continuing as normal. Obviously no one was hurt and there was no fire.
Thought they acted pretty quickly, considering they were on live TV, certainly better than Lorraine, who just carried on with her programme! And with all modern alarms sounding different, half the time you're in shock wondering what the heck is going on!! After all, it's best to pause a second and act methodically, rather than entering a blind panic screaming 'fire fire' and potentially cause more damage!
For anyone wondering why they might’ve taken a while to leave, they don’t know if it’s a test or not. They might have to wait until the director or a set manager tells them to leave
@Marc Allan Leslie That's not how fire alarms work. The alarm goes off, you evacuate. If you wait to be told it's a real fire, why have an alarm? There are very few exceptions and they mostly involve things like powerplants where a skeleton crew is required to make sure the plant is safe and/or shutdown safely to avoid a very big bang.
Imagine therea a real fire and they sits there like *Im sO SoRRy wE HAvE tO EnD* ***ATTENTION ATTENTION PLEASE EVACUATE THE BUILDING*** **Stays sitting**
Most fires in modern buildings don't spread that quickly. It's better to pause for a second to think and act methodically, rather than enter a blind panic and immediately run, without considering the consequences
One might have expected a better response from Roger as he's done NWT from that studio for years. Director wasn't on top form either - end titles were in the gate, so it should have been: apologise, say goodbye - run titles. take us Pres, evacuate! Needs rehearsing!

@@jackchihuahua No they don’t, if a fire alarm goes off you should evacuate immediately, you shouldn’t just sit there chatting to the cameras. People’s safety is way more important than making sure they have a nice cut off to the segment.
Honestly, they should really just automatically (During live programs) cut to a apology screen, Cut to a recorded program to diffrent studio after a prerecorded apology by a generic voice or cut to a apology screen with some news being fetched off their website or something so the presenters can leave the second that the fire alarm is heard. BBC needs to review its Fire Action Plan. I'm sure it should not say "just stay seated and apologize to guest"
its the same in itv, ridiculous
Nearly as incompetent as itv. It's ridiculous how bad these stations are at following the guidelines

I was angry with bbc about this😡
I was just admiring how clear the instructions sounded from the talking sounders, it's a shame they were not followed though.

That is the most British reaction to a fire alarm I've ever seen 😂😂

They clearly need fire training. You’re suppose to leave the building immediately on hearing the alarm
They probably took the lifts downstairs too.
@@reg10x hahah
@Firoz Khan No, it's a fire alarm.
They probably had to wait for the director or whoever to say if there is an evacuation. Alarms can accidentally be set off.

Don’t worry, take your time, it’s not like we’re in a rush to get outside or anything! Only a fire alarm! 🚨

They should just have an automatic emergency tape when it goes off.
I see the staff are untrained when it comes to fire drill, health and safely procedure. Take your time, the building is on fire.
