- The Fire Alarm goes off at MediaCityUK (Salford, Manchester) during Afternoon Edition with Nihal Arthanayake and Sarah Brett on Wednesday 24th May 2017 at approximately 13:51.
Legend says they are still waiting to re-enter the building while a backup studio takes over
That is one funky-shaped table.
His face when the alarm went off. XD
LOL
that would be me, Such an eerie tone! XD
Eagle eyes!
He's like 😳
Tne emergency cutout music is actuallly quite good
And on that bombshell, it's time to end...
1:30 We can’t give you the good stuff right now but we can have a dance session and advertise the radio station.
Totally not off-topic...
this comment made me burst out laughing XD
That was the only emergency tape they had since it was a building evacuation. They had to pick a random emergency tape so they didn't have any time to pick a tape with songs probably
@@drewnewfire bbc radio 5 I believe is a talk only station. This is their only emergency audio
@@sonotswifty I see
1:19 and 3:26 you’re listening to bbc radio 5 live we’re sorry we can’t bring you the scheduled programme at the moment we’ll return to it as soon as we can
I can see her moving the chair 40 times possibly she’s got the last few words to say to Chris who was calling in before saying the building’s being evacuated
The emergency tape songs are 🔥
Looks like the radio room is derelict the way it’s all empty whilst the fire alarms were going off
1:19 you’re listening to bbc radio 5 live we’re sorry we can’t bring you the scheduled programme at the moment we’ll return to it as soon as we can
At 0:52 the alarm starts
Thanks
It takes 25 seconds from when the alarm went of for them all to get out
Actually 28 lol
Too slow.
Quicker than BBC News tbh
Doesn’t help when its entire schedule is made up of not only speech, but live speech - Radio 4 and 4 Extra are speech-based - but not all of it is live - especially 4 Extra - their output is made up of comedy and drama from the archives - even the stuff my generation’s parents grew up listening to - so the programme can continue if it can still be on after everything is normal - a music station can just play random music typical of its output!
0:53 eagle eyes!
She moves her chair about 40 times!
0:57 Attention! Attention! Please evacuate the building by the nearest available exit. Do not use the lifts!
The BBC Breakfast alarm went off i think on the 23rd of March 2022
1:50 - time for zombies to invade the radio!
At 0:53 the person's face was XD
I can see the computer on the right hand side of the picture going off automatically
Probably left on too long.
I think you might be right Olivia
*1:55** - **2:36** good indet(s)*
I had a couple of evacuation of my school when the fire alarms go off and I always wait outside the school building and wait for the manager of the school to be saying okay u can come in now

Where?
@@Idontdogaming at 2:59 you can see some people moving outside
I can hear the announcement in the background saying attention attention please evacuate the building by the nearest available exit do not use the lift
They don't need a taxi, so it makes sense. Just use the stairs or elevator.
Actually just the stairs avoid elevators
You can see these two taking the headphones off and then disappear to the right to get to the exits
*0:52* 😂😂😂
HE BE LIKE: 😲😲😲😲
i love these parts: 1:19 3:25
They fell for it. Locked up in the basement with the writers of Tomorrow's World and Bottom Series 4.
Why they don't play music on the emergency tape?
Radio 5 doesn't play music. Best guess would be licensing (suspect most likely) or a policy reason such as listeners wouldn't expect to hear music from that station.
Does anybody know the name of this fire alarm?
Idk, usually, they're proprietary systems installed, same ones they use in train stations/shopping centers/large areas ext.
Protec system with a Protec PA/VA system (which is rebranded Penton gear)
Does They See The Red Evacuation light?
What red light ? The one on the table is mic live
that's so funny why were they recording
0:51
The Gamer hi that fire alarm on five live was hallarious
that face was classic though
It was real or just a drill?
It was just a false alarm.
It was a false alarm, however it caused a full evacuation of MediaCity. i remember being in the Orange Tower next to the BBC's Building on the day and no one had a clue what was going on cause we'd never had a mass evacuation XD
@@DanRiches wow!
oof
0:52 Why doesn’t that sound like a fire alarm?
every fire alarm is different in some way.
@@dpog yeah I know but why does that alarm not sound like nee naw nee naw like other ones do?
@@battlelord667 repeating my earlier statement.
Could be that the BBC buildings have a catch-all alarm for evacuation of the buildings (aka for terrorism incidents, other natural disasters, power issues, etc.)
@@battlelord667 Because it seems that every manufacturer has their own alarm, I’ve heard plenty like this.
0:53 when you eat a really hot curry
Idea
FALSE ADVERTISING!
Radio 5 is crap anyway
underneonloneliness2 I'm offended
