Well, pausing means that you want to discuss it, but I feel like discussion typically belongs after a reaction video, not during. Plus it interrupts the flow and pace of the video, so you're not really experiencing it the same way.
I think the reason I like your reactions is you genuinely seem to enjoy learning about new things, and it’s fun watching you dig into these topics. I usually don’t watch reaction channels besides yours.
When you realize that Britain actually has had more influence on the world than probably even the US. For example, that Israeli-Palestine Conflict, that started with Britain and France dividing the Ottoman Empire. Also, Hong Kong used to belong to the UK (a reason why they are upset with China today). It's crazy how much each thing influences other things.
You have to react to “How the universe is way bigger than you think” or “The Ocean is deeper than you think”! Both very educational, but fun videos! I also recommend Sam O’Nella Academy! His channel is hilarious
it will be a good day, when all sensors and gauges align to the reality of things, beyond the light reaching us and if they at least once, achieve, they will not enjoy changing all of those charts, stats, years distant (etc).. i can wait but for only a bit longer, then they shall be far past a safe return - such have gone awry, too many times..!!
Thurston, honestly...I love sports and they're an essential part of our lives. Your reactions to them are great, and I don't want you to give that up by any means. But these new videos about history, weather, science, etc. are a lot more substantive and enlightening, which we all could benefit from. I'm enjoying seeing you learn, and I'm enjoying learning along with you. So please do keep it up, and I think doing at least one of these a day wouldn't be overdoing it. I subbed well over a year ago for your sports reactions, but I'm having more fun watching this new content. I've told you before that you're a very astute and thoughtful person, which makes you the perfect type for reaction videos...you seem very genuine unlike a lot of reactors who just try to put on a show. Appreciate it, and appreciate the time you put into your channels.
Someone suggested it already but watch "When did Britain and America stop hating each other?" By History Matters. And he's got a lot of good videos in general. They're all short so you can do a lot of them.
I remember my 7th grade history teacher showed this to us and said to take notes. We were all scrambling around to write everything and when it finished he collected all the papers and just threw them away. Loved that teacher.
I love how when people react to this they stop, pause, and react to the first 5 minutes, then they're completely silent for the rest. Information overload.
I've watched a few people react to this video and yours is actually very entertaining in comparison. Knowing when to pause and how much to say is pretty difficult but it seems like you've got a good understanding of what makes for good content. Like someone else in the comments said, don't worry about the pausing. Your reaction is what this video is about.
Dude I love watching your reactions! I just watched your American civil war videos last night and I went down a 2-hour Wikipedia rabbit hole reading about it and Abraham Lincolns assassination. Like you said in a previous video it’s interesting watching a non-American learn about America and its history. I was waiting for you to get to this video because it’s literally one of the best in all of RUclips. There’s so much information condensed into such a small amount of time and lots of historical humor sprinkled throughout. So glad you enjoyed it! Keep it up mate! You have a subscriber in me! Cheers! Edit: Next you have to watch “History of Japan”. It’s by the same guy and just as good only on a smaller scale. It’s like the little brother to this video.
I can honestly appreciate good contents like that. No extra bs. Very simple and very educational. Even the editing is simple. I can think of millions of videos that has more work put into it with 10x less the views this one got
Love your program. Im glad I came by it. My younger brother traveled through many parts of Europe. He loves London and he told me so much of then the English Empire and Ancient France. He's also brilliant about Languages and how they originated and moved throughout civilization. Watching your videos has help me understand and recognize a lot of what he's been telling me. I've grown a much better understanding Geographically and historically. Thank you.
The History of the Entire World I Guess May be the greatest video ever made. I’ve seen it a dozen times, seen several dozen people react to it and it just never gets old!
and you wonder why this is a masterpiece because it took almost one year to extract all the information from start to finish 11 months to be exact great reaction mate.
I feel like there would be 98% more historians in the world if all history teachers worked liked Bill. Took him over a year to create this masterpiece, and it shows. Just brilliant.
When you say how surprised you are and how did you not know this... it's understandable. Whenever someone finds education (even if it's comical/mostly factual), that's a good thing. Let us know in your reaction that you're spreading your thoughts to your friends. Never preach, but give out the question... "What do you guys think about this?".
I would suggest The Fallen of WW2 by Neil Halloran It’s equal parts educational, mesmerizing and horrifying all at once. As a person who loves history, I think you will enjoy it.
I love your videos, I feel like I'm learning things I never knew before right along with you. Never even heard of these over simplified videos they are amazing! I'm hooked now.
Hey I'd be really interested to see you react to the extra history Opium wars series if you'd like to learn about some more British history. I really like a lot of their older stuff and some of the new series are alright though its an entirely different group working on them.
Never saw this; enjoying your more current vids. Among your first geography/history vids, I take it. Good decision, all in all - sports is relatively cut and dried; this kind of stuff, however, blows one's mind in a number of ways. Cheers!
Fun fact. The island of Great Britain is 209,331 square km in size. Which if you compare it to the US it would be the 16th largest by square kilometers. It is about the same size as Kansas and Nebraska, and just a little bit larger than Oklahoma. While being half the size of California, and under 1/3rd of the size of Texas. You could react to the September 11th terrorist attacks.
Yep, Bangladesh was originally “East Pakistan” and Pakistan was “West Pakistan”... Basically the British just called the two major areas with predominantly Muslim populations in the East and West both “Pakistan”, despite the fact that West Pakistan was mostly filled with Hindustani people and Bangladesh was filled mostly with Bengali people; two very different ethnic groups
Bull Wurtz is so good - he has a lot of short videos that are fun. He plays all of the instruments, does all of the graphics, edits everything & sings on all of them. Highly recommended! “Outside” is one of my favorites.
GREAT REACTION! I've been down a rabbit hole watching reactions to this. It was uplifting seeing a brit acknowledge the european influence and its consequences. Clearly the UK doesn't teach its citizens about what its done to the world. (That's a dig on Governments, not you. Loved the reaction) Sincerely, -an American Gen Xer whose pissed off that after all that time, after industrial revolution, after "world peace", after technology revolution, we're still arguing about whether everyone should eat.....or be sheltered from the elements.....or exist with a different opinion....without being owned by someone else. 🖖🏼
Have you ever seen the 'After Ever After' videos by the RUclipsr that goes by Paint? He's done three of them now. He does a quartet with himself where he goes into what happens after the Happily Ever After for Disney Princesses (in After Ever After 1 & 2) and Princes (After Ever After 3). Another awesome channel to check out is The Hillywood Show. They're a sister duo that makes music video parody tributes to their favorite tv shows and movies. Their Supernatural Parodies have gotten the most views, but they've done others, including Doctor Who and Sherlock.
Hi, loving your reaction videos! Hope you react to more historical type videos. Others have probably already answered the Pakistan question. India, Pakistan and Bangladesh were all one country known as 'India'. When people refer to India under British rule that includes modern India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. When India gained independence from Britain the country was partitioned into modern day India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. One of the worst mismanagements of the UK that still causes conflicts today.
