- Art Thomya, a Thai singer/songwriter, will show you an amazing place to stay in the most serene part of Northern Vietnam - Halong and Yen Tu Mountain.
Yen Tu Mountain is one of the highest peaks in Northeastern Vietnam, located within Quang Ninh Province. Besides being a famous natural landscape, Yen Tu preserves numerous historical relics and is also known as “The cradle of Buddhism in Vietnam”.
From Hanoi, tourists may get to Yen Tu by shuttle bus, car, or motorbike. If you are about to board a Halong Cruise, an extra day to Yen Tu would be perfect for your trip as it is just 90 minutes away from Halong.
Legends said that, in the 13th century, there was a King named King Tran Nhan Tong who stepped down his throne to become a monk and built a temple on this mountain. You will see sacred places which were created to worship King Tran Nhan Tong.
Climbing up a mountain, you will be amidst white clouds and feel like you're in heaven. At the peak, you will enjoy a panorama view of Halong Bay on a clear sky day. Well, today, I am happy enjoying the fogs and the clouds.
The unique experience of this trip is where I stay. Here I am at the spectacular Legacy Yen Tu - MGallery by Sofitel. The location is just at the bottom of Yen Tu Mountain and close to local villages. This architecture is inspired by the 13th century Vietnam. I feel like I travelled back to the past.
Designed by Bill Bensley, a creator of many of the world's iconic hotels, this place will get you mesmerised by its boutique decors. Apart from its physical charms, you will feel the calmness, so I think it is such a great place to rejuvenate and restore yourself. As this is a centre of Buddhism in Northern Vietnam, there is a meditation class for you to practice your mind and soul.

The ladies playing the music are beautiful. The hotel displays many beautiful pieces of art. And the surrounding area with its mist-covered mountains is breathtaking. Definitely, a warm and welcoming place to visit.
Yes, they are beautiful and talented. The music brought us back to ancient time in Vietnam. The decoration is so unique. I hope to be back there again.
