we are lucky to have simon crafar . the way he pays attention to little details and insights and breaks down and explains things to casual and new viewers motogp will never be the same without him
I love to hear Simon speak... the dude's an encyclopedia where it concerns to all things MotoGP. I'm sure he'll be the best technical steward motoGP ever had
It was great journey for Simon. In his initial years, everyone thought he is not much active and too slow to interact and speak to during commentary but the progress he made and eager to listen to After the Flag sessions. A great progress and journey. Will miss him for sure
It was rough sailing initially for him. You can tell he would get nervous when pronouncing the diffucult names of a few riders. Along with just getting into the groove of things on the mic. Despite all of that, I enjoyed him from the start. I will miss his technical inputs, and commentary.
@darknessesdarknesses2492 Indeed that's why I said great progress from how he started where people don't want him to be beside Matt Birt for commentary to how ppl waiting for After the Flag session of him.
Lots of respect for Simon, love the way he communicates the subtle aspects of riding- his MotoVudu series was excellent. Then seeing him trackside these last years was always nice and always informative. GL on this next role!
Another brilliant podcast. Fantastic listening to Simon. Love him so much. All around sweet guy but, yeh, tough on the inside for sure. You gotta be. He'll do great. Been following Simon since the 500cc days. Thanks so much for the content.
What a fantastic pod cast I love Simon he will be missed as far as he’s interviews and race building up and even he’s hot lap the man is a font of knowledge and the way he explains everything to the race fans and even the lay man is just on point.thanks Simon and good luck in your new role 👍🏻
All we want from the panel is consistency and clarity. Freddy sometimes got unacessary flack due to a lack of comunication. Im sure Simon will do a great job
Not that i know a lot, but for sure any understanding i do have came mostly from listening to Simon’s observations - riding circuits, tech talks, during events… and i’m so thankful! This is my first time listening to OMG MotoGP, and I’m so happy to have found Amy again! I’ve missed Amy and Vanessa, so much! Best wishes to all!
That was the first episode I've watched, and I just want to say how beautiful it was watching you listening and reacting to Simon speaking, Amy. The little smiles as he'd start to tunnel down a topic or when he said something insightful and affirming of one of the riders that indicated you were just taking joy in witnessing someone else just being fully themself, and in their seeing the world in a positive way. It speaks of a beautiful human being. I loved Simon's insights, and his passion for what he's doing. There was a lot to learn. I also loved the initial talk of wanting to turn up and be a little scared, so that he's always expanding his horizons and capacity. And the sense of fairness and humility that allowed him to call himself out for using the term gentlemen's agreement. Regarding I4 vs V4 and the difference frontal area makes, my memory is that the year Spies won WSBK on the R1, it was producing the highest HP on the grid, but had the lowest trap speeds (and the dainty Aprilia was consistently quickest through the traps).
Really disappointed that Simon isn’t going to be on screen next year. Loved how deep he looked into riding techniques and such that other commentators don’t even notice (not knocking on them) for example when he pointed out how early pecco engaged his RHD during one of the last 5-6 races (I forget which track) I’m glad he’s head of the stewards, he deserves it!
Love Simon C, he is my voice of reason with Kirsten, and they keep me safe on the road i.e. not buy silly bikes and get sucked into the marketing ❤️ Lovely family too
Simon will make a big difference to the new role Merry Christmas to Simon and his family friends Happy New Year to you all From the Sunshine Coast at Maroochydore Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Congrats on your new Job next year Simon, but i gotta ask, WHY is it WE always lose Great Pitlane reporters like you and Dylan Gray !?? :( , best of luck to you !
If Honda had someone like Pecco??? They had Dani who is a great test rider/wild card racer. What happened, imo, was Marc got injured and the development of the bike was left to riders who were half a second slower. So then you get a half second slow bike which may as well be a minute nowadays. While Honda try to claw back their half second Ducati have gained a second.
1 hr with Yoda :-) his passion for the sport and life in general is magical, keep it up buddy, thanks Amy and Keith for letting Simon meander his wisdom to us, going miss you fella, as much as i still miss the Toby and Jules and Randy show from the 90's and the Keith and Jules show 'OH he's nutted it' was the Best of British R>i.p. Gavin
Simon is the nicest guy you will ever meet, was always there at the end of the day with a cold beer for everyone but the hardest guy with it. I remember instructing with him at Slovakia Ring a few years back and the customer he was out on circuit with got cut up real bad by another rider being a dick, at the end of the session Simon found the offending rider in the paddock and I thought he was going to kill him😝😂
When he first started, Simon was difficult to listen to. I personally, can tell that he worked incredibly hard to polish his skills to end up where he did. Good on ya, Simon.
fantastic, massive respect for Simon, and I hope that people retain this when there are decisions made that they don't like in the future..unfortunately people are too quick to turn, and too binary in their thought processes these days.
Freddie my hero always will be I roast anyone bash him .he deserves a break great have kiwis mike and Simon he do great job . because he cares about doing a good job.and being a rider
Yesterday- Simon Crafar? Great commentary, love his work. Today- You mean the guy from the stewards office? F that guy, no one likes the stewards... Lmfao 😂 Good luck Simon, hope you can pull off an Andy Defresne
Loving your work as always - but I do have one issue I'd love to hear you comment on ........ I seriously expected Maverick to struggle with the KTM given that a) he's a rider known for mainly being super fast when he has everything 'just so' with his bile, and b) the KTM is a bile that has given all the riders grief (even Pedro although to a lesser extent). Instead he was pretty fast and saying how much it seemed to suit his riding style. Could Vinales & KTM actually be a match that surprisingly works?
I’m burning to see that body-size "unfair advantage" be "neutralized" in basketball (or pretty much any other sport) so that we can see any son (or daughter) be able to compete on the "same" footing as any other participant regardless of their size.
Is Pedrosa a really good test rider? I wonder, mostly because he is so small, it gave Honda problems when they teamed together, his setting was so different from the others Honda riders when he was successful. He was a great rider and could probably be a world champion if Honda built the bike around him.
Simon is a legend. He'll be missed on tv next year.
we are lucky to have simon crafar . the way he pays attention to little details and insights and breaks down and explains things to casual and new viewers motogp will never be the same without him

Going to miss Simon’s insightful commentary! Glad he’ll be heading the Stewards. He’ll do great in that position.
You will be dearly missed simon 🫶 Good luck with the new adventure 🏍️💨
Simon is top notch. Everyone will benefit from his new position, but I will miss seeing him on the weekends.
😊
Just found this channel! Sorry I missed it. My new favorite MotoGP channel.
Great interview, Amy and Keith! I interviewed Simon earlier this year, too, and my listeners just love his authenticity.
What a pod cast . Mr Crafar is so amazing in insight redarding riders , teams etc .
A brilliant podcast❤
Love having the GOAT on (and you Keith ;-) ) - lets hope his comments are not nobbled by Dorna going forward 🙂
Love hearing Simon talking the tech
Simon is the best at explaining how MotoGP works. I'll miss his commentary very much.
Simon's knowledge of MOTOGP is amazing! Love love love listening to his insights👍🏻 Please have him on again 🙏🏻
Simon I think you underestemate yourself you truly are a legend.
I'll never forget watching Simon beat Doohan for the win at Donington, he was on fire that day.
Great podcast and wow Simon is like a vintage wine he just gets better and better. I hope we don't loose his technical insights in the paddock.
Simon- all the best from NZ bro, we all love you man, you represent us like you should. You're our motor cycling All Black :) (symbolically)
What a great episode, this one will be hard to top off!
Simon is a very nice person comes across really well good to listen to him talk 👍
Awesome Interview guys and girl.
Just subscribed and liked👍
This is the best omg so far. Keith didn't speak for the first 4 and a half minutes. More more more.
Amy, I've seen you on TV and the internet for several years and you keep getting prettier. (Can I say that?) Congratulations on the new role, Simon.
This maybe one of best video for me . Loved the tech stuff . Thank You
Lots of respect for Simon, love the way he communicates the subtle aspects of riding- his MotoVudu series was excellent. Then seeing him trackside these last years was always nice and always informative. GL on this next role!
Great to have Simon on. Didn't ask him about Cormac coming into Moto3 next year. First kiwi on the grid full time since our Simon. 🎉
Another brilliant podcast. Fantastic listening to Simon. Love him so much. All around sweet guy but, yeh, tough on the inside for sure. You gotta be. He'll do great. Been following Simon since the 500cc days. Thanks so much for the content.

One of the best podcasts I have heard for a long time. Simons insights into some of the technical areas is very interesting. 👍
Kudos to you lot on the quality of guests you kidnap. And I'm a Kiwi too, and we all love "our" Simon, and will miss him on the mic.
All we want from the panel is consistency and clarity. Freddy sometimes got unacessary flack due to a lack of comunication.
Im sure Simon will do a great job

That an I4 has more frontal area than a V4 is surely not true, eh?
The rider is by far the biggest component that produces drag?
Wadda yuh say?
The knowledge, insight and experience you guys share is awesome and really adds a lot to the viewing pleasure of the GP’s - keep it up!!! 😊🙏
Awesome POD I would love to know who is taking his spot in the pits? Chris V would be my choice
AMY❗️❗️
Come back❗️😭
We miss you in MotoGP❗️😭😭
Simon, we will sincerely miss you next year. It will not be the same❗️😭😭
I love this guy. Such a nice person. Wealth of knowledge. Great to listen and learn from him. Thanks Simon.

Simon, you are a Class Act! Good Luck with new job, you will be miss with information you shared. Thanks
Will definitely miss the tech insights from Simon! What a gentleman! Wonder who is going to replace him.
Great interview. I love it!
The myth, the legend, daddy long pipe Mr Crafar LETS GOOO
Good luck, Simon, you'll be missed on media channels
Simon will make a big difference to the new role Merry Christmas to Simon and his family friends Happy New Year to you all From the Sunshine Coast at Maroochydore Queensland Australia 🇦🇺
Had to comment again...just brilliant. Wanting more like this.
Hi Amy and Keith. Terrific interview with Simon. 2025: As one commentator likes saying, "Que the Jaws music". Pecco and Marc, what a team!!
Pecco and Marc ~ any farmer will tell you that you NEVER put two bulls in the same paddock. EG Senna & Prost. A recipe for disaster.
Cracking listen as always👍
Simon is one of the most beloved people in the racing community. He will do great.
It has to be remembered, Jorge Martin is a double world champion. They don't give those away with bags of sweets.
Congrats on your new Job next year Simon, but i gotta ask, WHY is it WE always lose Great Pitlane reporters like you and Dylan Gray !?? :( , best of luck to you !
I liked Dylan too! Where’d he go?
Fantastic chat 👏
Great pod 👏
Be great to see Rob Portman from Moto Rider World on 👍🏻
Simon WE LOVE YOU!!! You make me excited to watch racing

I think Honda got ‘lost’ because they focused on only one rider, being MM

Really enjoyed hearing from Simon again 😉

I learn so much listening to Simon,Iwill miss him,all the best in your new job,
Simons motovudu was the best book/dvd combo for learning how to ride on track he's such a well rounded guy
I am so going to miss Simon
If I ever make it to a MotoGP race, to heck with the riders, I'll be hunting down Simon for an autograph
When he first started, Simon was difficult to listen to. I personally, can tell that he worked incredibly hard to polish his skills to end up where he did. Good on ya, Simon.
💯💯💯💯💯💯 I agree. Except he still says DOO CAT EE.....aaaaarh! Come on Simon!
Simon is the best. Not gonna be the same without him
fantastic, massive respect for Simon, and I hope that people retain this when there are decisions made that they don't like in the future..unfortunately people are too quick to turn, and too binary in their thought processes these days.
Hey Simon, I have a question are you still going to be able to do Tech talks?
Always great to hear from Simon he's full of great information. I will his commentary next year but luck in the new job.
Freddie my hero always will be I roast anyone bash him .he deserves a break great have kiwis mike and Simon he do great job . because he cares about doing a good job.and being a rider
Great show
Best one of the year!
Terrific podcast!
Simon is such a lovely guy & a legend will be missed from the Paddock
I named my dog Simon after him.
My Simon is a handsome Airedale Terrier.
I’m going to miss him on the MotoGP broadcast.
He'll be taking his wolf with him to the rider meetings!
Yesterday-
Simon Crafar? Great commentary, love his work.
Today-
You mean the guy from the stewards office? F that guy, no one likes the stewards...
Lmfao 😂
Good luck Simon, hope you can pull off an Andy Defresne
😁 ..except the pipe is longer...

All the best people have been blocked by Patterson, is it because he hasn't the cerebral capacity to enter into a reasoned debate?
THANK YOU SIMON 👍😄
Really interesting. Thnx. Sheffield u.k.
If you want to go fast safely on track. Watch Simon's Motovudu series, practice, repeat.
One of the best figures of moto gp
Wish you could do both!!
Well done simon, all the best in your new job
Hats off to Simon,
I’m burning to see that body-size "unfair advantage" be "neutralized" in basketball (or pretty much any other sport) so that we can see any son (or daughter) be able to compete on the "same" footing as any other participant regardless of their size.
Good Man Simon is! "Back marker looms"! Remember Keith? (hint WSBK) I would have thought a trellis chassis is the answer for flexibility?
🎉❤love moto gp😊❤❤🎉

WHO? Who will replace Simon's eagle eye in the pits? We're gonna miss so much of the tech that only Simon can spot.
If Simon is happy, I'm happy for him. But he's by far the best there. Kind of Bond. James Bond. You can't replace Craig
HONDA LET PEDROSA GO AS TEST RIDER WAS THE NO/1 DOWNFALL" IMO
I miss Simon on broadcasts he got unique style and ever man woman can understand the Keven Carmon in making complex understandable
I bet Keanu and Alexandra watched this.
Really going to miss Simon on the Dorna commentary team. Best of luck with the new challenge mate 🍺
Simon’s brain is going 1000 mph 24/7
Simon Patterson blocks anyone who doesn't fully agree with him on everything. So Weak.
Kinda miss him already (and I've only started watching motoGP seriously this year)
Will we still see Simon ripping the track on the BMW?
