Hey guys I'm from Argentina and I just bought an old 79 turbo fox body. It's in decent shape but the tail lights need to be replaced, and I'd like to know if all fox body tail lights (79-93) are compatible, if I change the hole part of course, not only the lenses. I'd like to go with an 87 or so tail lights, just because I like it, I don't care about sticking to the "original" parts. Hope you can help me guys, thanks!
Brandon, Thank you for your question. I do not recommend it because you want them to be a good seal so they don't leak water into your car. The tail light panel is completely different on 79-82 cars versus the 83-93 tail light panel. Also, the bulb configuration is different between those year ranges. If you really wanted to do it right, I feel the easiest route is to change the taillight panel to make them fit and mount correctly.
I'm thinking about getting a pair of smoked lx tail lights, but I don't know what to do about the bulbs that you need for the smoked lenses. I know that you have to buy red bulbs and I know where to buy them, the question is how many? Do I just need a pair of the red bulbs, or do I need to replace every light in the tail light with red bulbs? Anyone got any clues, or has anyone installed smoked tail lights before that can tell me what they did?

Hi - How did you remove the old Butyl tape, what cleaner did you use?
Thank you for your 79-93 Fox videos!
David Johnson Sorry - I watched where he said he used a screwdriver to remove the Butyl and used a cleaner and a microfiber towel. Thank you!

Can I use 87 lx taillights on my 79 cobra? I know the center bolts are different but if they are removed it should work right?
