This worked for me on the air switch on a kitchen sink waste disposal. The air switch wouldn’t turn the disposer off. Cutting a 1cm split in the tube seemed to reset the switch somehow and it turned off immediately. I then trimmed the tube to remove the split I had made and reattached. Works fine now. Thanks!
this helped me understand the system better. I was trying with a very short tube and it only worked once without removing/reattaching the tube. I put a single hole with a needle and short tube worked. When I tried the long tube, it didn't work at all. I think my new switch is less sensitive than the old one so I need to either find a better switch or a button that can push more air. I can blow into the tube myself and make the light come on so it's definitely a pressure problem.
At a guess I would say the mechanical switch part has broken or pushed away from its holder. It will need investigation. Are you in Melbourne? If so call Nillumbik Pool & Spa Service
Well Neil I am a Pool professional with over 20years experience. This is the advice that was given by the switch/button manufacturer. And it worked. And you call it dumb on a public forum?? So come on what is your experience and expertise? What you got?
I can confirm it. Had trouble with mine. Bought a new one and the only time it worked every time was when I disconnected the tube from the button each time but did not turn off when I left the tube on. Cut a 10mm slit and Bob's your uncle. Thanks for the tip

Hi Mark
What do you think is happening if the switch doesn't stay on?

Dumb advice dont listen to this guy. Slicing an airline does nothing but make it not work at all.
