This video took me ages to make, if you found it at all useful, then do hit that like button. I've noticed a couple of errors in my video after watching it over and over again, it is unfortunate but this is the first time I've made a video like this of this caliber. I'll get better as I go on. Also, I want to thank ThePikeOfDestiny for helping me double check some of this information, as well as giving critique. The first iteration of this video was horrible compared to this one. If you have any comments, questions, suggestions or arguments, then do let me know.
I just started playing dauntless a few weeks ago, I was invited by my friends, and yesterday I was able to solo the dauntless trial of tempest dog in exactly 3 mins on first try after some build preparations that I got from content creators, I'm also a chain blade user, and it's really surprising how just using the right equipment can really do good damage no matter how new you are to the game. I even saw a video about players using beginner weapons without cells an still able finish the dauntless trials in less than 2 mins.
Hey, congrats. Stormclaw trials are pretty annoying, and doing it in sub 3 mins is pretty good for a starter. Yeah, a lot of people assume this game requires no skill, but pure skill gets you so damm far.
Great video, thanks. I came back to Dauntless a week or so ago having not played since like 2020, so much to choose to hunt and craft, this guide helps narrow it down!
Few corrections: - Fire can be used for some iceborne builds too. - Reduce is still used in builds \ team builds if you are over attack speed cap - you aren't losing attack speed, just gaining consistent damage buff. (Should be in niche category) ____ And addition to "complicated" part to make it even more complicated - you don't even need 50% to cap impulse, even if you have 42.5% - that should give you same damage as 50% movespeed (it's rounded up each to 10% ) So like an example: +30% - fire +10% - impulse itself +7.5% - tree = 47.5% movespeed, if you increase movespeed from there - you will still deal same damage (42.5 should be the same as 50% too, but it's been some time since I tested it, might be patched since then, not sure) _____ There are alot more options how to build around impulse, than galv \ invig. I do fire builds \ some people do Shrike lantern + cata + cons + galv with it (15% + 10% imp + 7.5% tree = 32.5%, kinda meh, but it works for them, so whatever), could also do molten + pulse \ cons for non cata \ tempest builds (20 + 10 + 7.5 = 37.5, same thing), could do any of those options with wounds or even acidic on axe - that's gonna be cap impulse. But eh, there are too many options, whole this section kinda unnessesary.
Yep, I am aware that playing in a coordinated party does open up a lot of things I.e stuff like having a warpike with shrike lantern and savage wellspring will give you enough buffs to use impulse efficiently without needing frostwulf and invigorated. I've actually heard that the rounding in this game is weird so I didn't want to make any statements regarding that as I am misinformed on the subject. Tbf I have heard that some of these values are not consistent so I can't tell what is and isn't real. Like people not being able to agree how much ms Molten gives or if aethercharged ammo effects the ms of mighty land breaker. I have heard multiple answers to these questions, but awesome info nevertheless. Appreciate the words.
@@ltcernalcorn oh yea, I'm not sure about those too lol But...I don't really consider hammer buff or axe throw movespeed buff into impulse builds cause it's not consistent, you can't always have it, so eh

@@laughinabox4880 a build just boils down to having damage, attack speed and critical chance. The armor pieces I showed at the end all contribute to this. I don't think anyone has ever tested it but I'm sure it works the same Yeah merciless is bad, only activates on staggers. Probably only in really competitive squads but not sure.
Merciless has the same activation times as overpower yeah. It is actually used, but only in high level group play where your entire team plays around wounds, and where the behemoth is staggered for the whole run.
I’m sorry to ask but I’ve been trying to figure out how to maximize dps with a sword Currently I run breserker tenacious+tough And recycle Being the main points but I notice my ult pretty much always screws up recycle do to the waves hitting more than my direct target I’ve considered 2 things and would appreciate some insight from anyone willing to help 1. Run the ultimate that spins to be rid of the issue 2. Replace recycle with the cell that gives percentile increase to crit chance
Hey! So a couple of things Berserker is indeed a good cell, and tenacious and tough are a decent combo for early game, however, having all 3 of these isn't exactly ideal. Considering berserker is decreasing your overall health which is having a anti-synergy. Recycle is usually only +6 on repeaters, for every other weapon, it's best to either not have it at all or only +3. The spinning move you're talking about (Ardent cyclone) is actually quite bad. Not only does it have subpar damage, it also locks you into a really long animation which will definitely make you get hit by the behemoth, which will disable your predator cell in your build. Also you wouldn't be able to run something like the Revenant omnicell which is really freaking good, since you'll be a easy target. Valiant and avenging overdrive are the 2 specials you'll need to choose on. Valiant is good if you're staggerlocking the behemoths and are not letting them get a chance to hit you, while avenging overdrive is better IF they are attacking you, since you'd actually be able to parry their hits. Cascade has 4 orb effects, the healing and dmg one aren't good, if you need healing, just use a plus 3 parasitic. The dmg from the red orbs do almost nothing. The yellow stamina orbs actually hurt you since most weapons are using adrenaline in their build for damage, (you can also be hurting other players if you're in pubs). The only good orb is the purple one, but you have to invest a lot into the cell for the purple orbs to even drop. It also only activates on lantern hold, lanterns by default, have a 30 second cool down.

You could have 100% up time if it's +6 and you have something like revenant or fire. But it's only 20% damage, whereas +3 berserker offers the same for less requirements.
