I have been using Bootstrap Farmer products, pots, trays, etc. for 3 years now and couldn’t be happier with their quality. And the colors make you so happy!
I am a small home flower gardener, and this was my first year using Bootstrap Trays to grow seedlings. The inexpensive trays will give the same germination results. However, the Bootstrap trays are very durable, and the roots are air pruned. Last year, my soil blocks barely germinated seeds, and I wasted money on seeds and soil. I tried about six different soil block recipes and all of them produced low germination. So, I bit the pocketbook, purchased five multicolor Bootstrap 72 trays, and filled them with last year's leftover Burpee seed starting soil. Eureka, the germination rates increased to 90%. I plan to use the mini soil blocker to start 20 seedlings of the same plant. I need more grow room space for all Bootstrap. I did figure out what caused the soil block problems.
This is my 2nd year using Bootstrap pots and trays. I love the colors, the design, the sizes offered and definitely the sturdiness. I have one of those air pruning cell trays like you showed and I'm not a fan. It is more difficult to fill with soil as all the in-between areas fill with soil and need to be knocked out. It is especially sturdy and would last a lifetime, I just much prefer the 6 cells
I love bootstrap farmer stuff. I bought the trays, six packs, 4 in pots, and humidity domes for myself for Christmas and grew my seeds in them. They are wonderful.

I like Bootstrap Farmer's supplies. I've purchased their bottom trays, cell trays, and 6-cell packs and have had them for years. They don't get flimsy, but the trays do get brittle eventually if you leave them out in the sun all season... which I often do. I've only ever bought the black and white products, which were (perhaps still are) cheaper than the fun colors. I love those lavender pots though! Might have to get some...
Your cover photo for the video looks like you're holding oversized ice cube trays... That said, your perennial patch of positive pretty flowers is coming along nicely. :)
I have grown perennial baby's breath for years. I forms a mat so I'm not sure how it will like growing in burn holes every 30 inches. Also gypsophyllia means lime loving so chalk, lime or gypsum help.
Last year, I had no luck with Lambs Ear and Coleus in soil blocks. Has anyone done spreading phlox seeds in soil blocks? I just ordered more Bootstrap products to up-pot the Zinnias. I had good results using the 72-cell trays combined with a mesh and solid 1020 tray. I put in dry seed starting mix and after planting, I watered the bottom tray. I covered it with a humidity dome and removed the dome and heat mats after germination.
I hope you arent as disappointed as i was last year growing perennial gypsophila, they were all single flowers that didnt last long in the vase. Double gyp is only guaranteed from cuttings and or tissue culture. 😕
Too bad Bootstrap doesn't use recycled plastic. We just don't need more plastic made and sold on this planet. The cells that Epic Garden sells are even stronger and made of recycled materials. I really like them.
I wish I could say something positive about bootstrap farmer but that's not been my experience with them. I ordered a hoop bender from them last year that didn't come with the mounting hardware that's advertised to come with it. I called customer service to let them know it was missing and honestly expected that they would say "hey, sorry about that, we'll get that right out to you" instead I got "you can go to the hardware store and get that". That left a very bad impression, so I won't be buying from them again.
Baby's breath is so wispy and beautiful. Here in Alberta, my zone 4b...they are illegal to grow....invasive. They actually spray behind our home for them. A bit sad
Baby's Breathe has a very unique smell to me (it smells like cat). It's pretty in flower arrangements but can't stand the smell. I think I would use Alyssum instead but that is just me. I like Boot Strap Farmer, and what they offer. I ordered, and paid for multicolored seedling pots for something unique, and exciting to use for my seeds. When I received the pots, and opened the box. They sent all black pots 🙄 no multicolored as ordered. I was disappointed, and had no time to return the pots. I needed to get the seeds growing, so I used the black pots. Next time, I won't set deadlines on seeds. This way if the wrong pots are sent, I can return the pots. Times getting closer to open the nursery❤
