Survival shelter in -40 degrees, This stove saved me

- I went far into the taiga to test myself. The shelter was originally planned to be made of film and to install a stove in it. It's -40 outside, very cold, but I have experience.

I'll never understand packing stretch wrap into the woods, when one 10 x 14 harbor freight tarp would work better and could be re-used

Reflective mylar (foiled) of aluminized plastic would be better choice -- so ya don't lose the radiant heat.

Even with the right sleeping bag it wouldn't matter with that pad. Some emergency blankets would've been more useful with such a small stove. And the shrink wrap just looks like a freshness meat pack for any bear that may be up and about. It still looked like fun making the shelter and camping out.
The Mr Rogers piano works well.
The little stoves work well, but you gotta have a good sleeping bag or else you'll be having to feed it all night long. You just can't get big enough pieces of wood.

I understand that such a solution can save your live in strong freezing but that stretch foil in the woods makes me icky.

When we were kids we put our feet into bread wrap then into boots to keep our feet warmer in winter and we stayed outside longer too
We used bread sacks too. Wore them inside our boots to keep our feet dry.
It was freezing, you went out and filmed this. It must have been tough on batteries, not to mention your body. Great Vlog. Warm Wishes.

this one u can name it as a well prepared camping trip not a survival cus u have every thing in handy nd yur mini stove are brand new but by the way I did enjoy watching yur video have fun then 😶😶😶

That Rosie red stove pipe was almost to the melting point. How that tarp didn't go up in flames is beyond my. Be careful people. I wouldn't recommend this.

Those mini camping stoves are useless. You are up all night stoking them every 20 minutes otherwise you freeze in the dark.

If I was going to use plastic I would look at nylon string reinforced visqueen.

Yeah I winter camp regularly.
I keep a utility tarp in the bottom of my pack.
Could have put three 10x 14 Harbor Freight tarps folded up would have taken up less room than two rolls of stretch wrap and been a hell of a lot lighter and a whole lot warmer
but dimas is fast survival he can live in a cave he don't care

survival shelter out of shrink wrap....really...who carries shrinkwrap into the woods. You could of built a snow a shelter with evergreens and it would of been a real test of your skill. This is the problem today with terms like survival....you did nothing but build a greenhouse with a stove you brought with you.....that's not SURVIVAL
Several things about people that make these videos makes me wonder. First why do you wait until winter, there are other seasons. Second why use plastic wrap when you have a wide range of building Materiels out there. Thirdly, why do you all do such lousy planning when you do this? Its like you are trying to build tension or drama when building these structures. Most show little to no foresight or planning. It's like these FAKE drama shows on TV, always rushing at a artificial deadline. Hoping they are going to make it, if not a disaster will happen. Tune down the Historyonics.
