When earlier in 2020 our diary was suddenly cleared by the onset of Covid-19, our fans soon began to demand recordings of the cover songs which we had occasionally played live. In contrast to our own compositions, these were nowhere to be found….
We thought it would be a nice gesture to meet that demand, and whilst writing material for our second album, despite all the Covid-19 limitations, we also dived into the Exalto Recording Studios. In a small setting we recorded eleven songs ‘live to track’. These are all songs that have a special meaning to at least one of us, and sometimes even to all three. The whole idea behind Mell & Vintage Future resonates in these recordings. For example, songs from as early as the sixties all the way to the noughts sound as if they simply belong together and gel into the present day.
