Yebba wailing out her pain and passion in this song can't help but give you chills. She appears to be struggling to control her own emotions several times during this performance. What an amazing song and singer!
I feel like the lines 'no way, no way she can't take you away from me' then 'I sure won't stay, but I'll be damned if I ever leave'.. is her dilemma.. and links to her line 'I'm about to lose my mind'.. oh the pain.
I feel the same way as you do about runs. It tends to feel like showing off just to prove you're a good singer. This feels different because it feels like her soul pouring out and it actually portrays emotion.

The very first sing I ever heard her sing was "Smoke" with Luke Levenson ... that's the song Clark Beckham heard her in and got in touch with her to do Gravity. He said that in an interview. Great reaction!
