When I first read Jiji in the manga I thought "Everyone's gonna love this guy!", imagine my surprise when half the fandom hates the guys guts. Apparently he's not a guy everyone'd love, instead he's a guy you'd either really, really love or really, really hate.
10:57 this is what actually made me respect Jiji's character, he is scared, doesn't know Momo has powers (at least that can protect her), bearly (doesn't) understands the spiritual stuff, can't register what's happening but protected Momo with 0 hesitation or powers of his own
On top of that (and it must have been animated intentionally that way) while holding Momo and trying to protect her, he rolls in a way that puts him in harms way to guard her. I love such tiny details that tell so much about the character's traits.
I dont know if the author took this into account, but I assume he did... You also need to remember that both of Jiji's parents are on the hospital I assume that both because of the spirit on his house So he already knows what its like to be powerless, and see his loved ones get hurt by unknown monsters Thats why he didnt listen to anyone He just couldnt let Momo get hurt, and he decided to protect her at all costs
@@Cwahsawnt They didnt date as far as the anime has shown Momo had a crush on him, but then he made fun of momo's grandma, and they grew apart Momo even mentions that they werent exactly friends either, twice At least, thats the way I understood the story so far
Everyone thinks that the doll's dialogue is only inspiring Okarun to confess but in reality what it did was make Okarun realize what his real feelings towards Momo are, until that moment Okarun insisted on thinking that she was just a friend, in fact This same chapter says it, so the importance of the doll scenes is that they make Okarun really understand that he loves Momo and that he doesn't just see her as a friend.

@@omarsayed9750 it becomes more apparent going forward but the dude is hyperactive and doesn’t always pay attention to whats going on. He’s either making funny faces, running around, or moving in goofy ways. One of the major running gags of the manga is that as the cast expands a lot more stuff happens per panel, and Jiji is the beginning of that.

Generally, if a character doesn't react someone saying a thing, it's a generally accepted TV logic thing that they couldn't hear it even if they're like 5 feet away. Supposedly the second cour _might_ be this summer (there are a few theories floating especially since there's no way they finish this arc in one more episode.)
incredible to bring up one punch man when part of the reason the second season ended up being disappointing in so many peoples eyes was the fact that they ended up using a different production studio in order to get it out sooner. You would think after the JJK stuff that happened during season 2 that people might tone down this kind of crying over not getting they're animes as soon as possible but I suppose thats too much to ask from anime fans
@lolax121 no you misunderstand, I'm not crying so much as pointing out how long it took to get to season 3 just in general. I defend season 2 for being what it was despite the expectations from season 1. It's just a point of fact that it's taken 10 years to get 3 seasons.
Some manga people a bit too sensitive to people having their initial impressions on a character. The series will speak for itself for how a character will be later. @@Ozone946 My comment doesn't apply to you then. It's more about people who get a bit too defensive if someone doesn't have a favorable initial impression of a character. I didn't say you the manga to have a good impression of the character.

Yeah Jiji is basically a annoying little brother to Momo at this point. He is a good guy just a very goofy guy at the same time. He might have some feelings for Momo but easily 90% of it is him just trolling and being extra. Well he already cracked the code by getting Seikos heart by just complementing her helped by the fact that he genuenly tought she was a aunt and not a grandma.
