Yes Benzein fit is kind of generous (at least with the last I ordered, Borneo last). I have wide forefoot and high instep, but the boot still feels bit too generous.. Great quality for the price though!
I think they're great chelseas if you need the volume. I'm still looking at Western brands for their elegant lasts. I have bought shinki horsebutt from Benzein and I noticed that they cut the shell into the less seen areas, the inner quarters and tongue. The grainy non-shell is cut for the visible areas. Not my preference but I understand most customers want grain visible to onlookers. I want to try Tahura's double welt construction next and ask if they can use a thin welt like White Kloud.

I received my 42 (OZ Instep and Ball) Keeper type 1 boots in early January 1, 2022. When they first arrived I was really concerned about the fit because the toe shape was far too pointy for my square shaped foot (Alden Tru Balance and Modified lasts are a perfect fit for me) but after breaking them in for a month, they are my favorite boots in terms of fit and comfort. When my left sock doesn’t bunch up at the instep, they are more comfortable than my Alden 403 and White’s MP boots!
Are you going to reorder the Benzeins in size 41.5 regular width? I think I'm a half size bigger than you (9.5D brannock) and I ordered Benzein Kujang chelseas in size 42 regular width, do you think this is the right size for me?
Ordered this and they suggested I get a 41.5 based on my measurements with modified ankles as I have a narrow foot. I am a size 8D on Grant Stone and given that 41.5 is a 8.5E...I am concerned that it might be too large? Thoughts?

What's your Alden and Whites sizes?
I wear Alden Tru Balance and Modified lasts on 8.5 eee but the I could probably narrow it to ee on modified.

They look great! Too bad about the sizing but I'm sure they can redo it well on the instep area.
I wear 8.5 eee in Alden boots. I’m tempted but don’t know I could pull of blue boots. Sorry about the fit issues.
With blue jeans, black pants, browns, khakis, olive chinos, blue is really easy to match with.
I can't believe you don't have a pair of RM Williams yet. I suggest a pair of Comfort Craftsman in Kangaroo.
Try a tongue pad or add an innersole to get the fit dialed in
